Chapter 1434 Fear

    Chapter 1434 Fear

Lillian and Felix stood at the door, hugging each other. None of them spoke a word. She didn''t want to

face reality yet, so she remained silent. She didn''t want to break the peace and warmth that she was

    feeling right now.

But Felix didn''t feel the same way. He was bidding her farewell deep inside. His eyes were icy but she

couldn''t see them as they were standing in the darkness.

"You''re finally here! I''ve been waiting for you so long! I did what you asked me to do, but just as I was

about to do it, I was caught. I''m so scared. What are we going to do, Felix?"

She coughed and sobbed as she tried to desperately cling on to Felix for help. To her, no one else

could save her. She leaned her head against his chest.

"Don''t worry. I''m just here. I just finished an operation. That''s why I was sote. Don''t cry anymore. I

know you went through a lot. It''s okay. It''s going to be okay. Don''t worry. We''re going to survive this. I''ll

    figure out a way."

Felix chose his words carefully. If Lillian wasn''t hysterical, she must have noticed that something was

different with Felix. But she was too busy breaking down to notice anything.

He pulled her arm off as he didn''t want to stand by the doorway anymore. He then turned around to

    lock the door close.

Lillian realized that it was dark so she scrambled for the switch but just as she was about to flick the

    lights open, Felix stopped her.

"Don''t turn on the lights. You just cried so your eyes might still be extra sensitive."

Felix didn''t want Lillian to turn the lights on because he needed the darkness to do what he needed to

do so he made up some excuse to keep the lights off.

Lillian wasn''t suspicious at all. She just figured that Felix was being sweet to her. She even felt lucky

and happy that Felix cared about her that much.

"Okay, I won''t turn on the lights. Be careful, okay? You might trip." She then grabbed his hand as they

    walked towards the living room.

"Lillian, be honest with me. Did you tell anyone what we were going to do to Sheryl?"

Felix needed some assurance or he wouldn''t be able to sleep at night.

Fortunately, he received the answer he was hoping for. She shook her head and said, "No, of course

not. I know that''s something serious. Why would I tell anyone that? I don''t even want to think what

would happen if anyone found out. Don''t worry. I''m also looking out for both of us. I didn''t tell anyone."

Felix let out a sigh of relief—now there was no need to worry. Things were lessplicated now that

he knew that she didn''t tell anyone. Le was right—once he got rid of Lillian, this secret would die

    along with her.

"But I didn''t end up doing it. I was caught. She has proof and she''s going to tell the police. We can

elope to another country. As long as we''re not here, she won''t be able to do anything to us and we can

live our life together away from all of this."

In Felix''s mind, he mocked Lillian for proposing such a silly idea. She was naive for thinking that was a

viable n. They would get caught before they even got to the airport.

In addition to that, even if they were lucky enough to be able to escape to another country, would they

really live happily together? It wouldn''t be just as simple as that. It would just be the start of a long and

    of getting caught.

However, he still tried to make Lillian feel better. He thought it could be one of thest good things he

    did for her.

"Don''t worry. We don''t have to do anything since she''s alive. It was just an attempt then since she''s

alive! So you don''t have to worry anymore,"

Felix murmured to her ear as he stroked her hair.

Lillian calmed down as she inhaled his scent, leaning against his chest.

"You''re right. She''s alive so there must be something we can do. Maybe I can plead for her mercy. I

didn''t even end up hurting her!"

"Yes, I can apany you. I won''t let anyone hurt you."

Felix poured all of his tenderness to Lillian which made her feel warm in her chest.

"Thank you for staying with me,"

Lillian said lovingly. All Lillian could think of right now was how lovely Felix was being to her. She''d

hadn''t asked her to poison Sheryl, she wouldn''t have to worry about anything and she would be

Lillian was ovee with emotion as Felix whispered sweet nothings into her ear.

To Lillian, Felix was the only person she could trust right now so she didn''t notice at all that Felix was

acting a bit strange that night.

Felix touched his lips to Lillian''s and said, "Why don''t you rest first? You must be freaked out. I''ll go get

    water for you."

"Okay, don''t trip! Why don''t you turn on the lights so you can see where you''re going?"

Felix had sessfully tricked Lillian into trusting him.

"It''s okay. I know this ce. Don''t worry about me, okay? Just stay there and wait for me,"

Felix said in a gentle tone. When he spoke, he tenderly fixed his gaze at her.

"Okay. Just be careful." Lillian let go of Felix''s hand reluctantly, her eyes filled with affection.

"Okay, sweetie." Felix lightly kissed her on the forehead before heading to the kitchen.

When he arrived at the kitchen, he pulled out the bag of drugs from his pocket. He was sweating. He

looked around the kitchen every now and then to make sure Lillian hadn''t followed him. Fortunately,

she seemed to be lost in thought. She sat on the sofa seemingly in a daze. She had no idea what Felix

    was doing in the kitchen.
