The little girl hummed in response, saying, “It doesn’t hurt anymore. You can stop hitting Zeki.” The
little boy fell silent once more, just as he had initially, with his hand still firmly holding onto the little
girl’s hand.
Jete hurried over and raised her voice. “Did you get into a fight again? Oh, my goodness! Why
did you beat him up like that? What have we done to raise a child like you?” When she witnessed
the scene before her, she immediately scolded the boy even more sternly.
She could not believe that something like that had urred during her brief absence.
Meanwhile, the plump boy was stillining about how the little boy had injured several other
children.
Having to contend with numerous adults and confront usations from others, the little girl simply
clung tightly to the boy and repeated, “Zeki, don’t be scared. I’m here to protect you. We don’t have
to be afraid of them!”
Rosalie could not help but sympathize with them. When she was about to speak, Jonathan walked
up to her anxiously with the two children. “Rosie, I’m afraid we have to go. We found Kurt.”

“What?” Rosalie was taken aback. “Kurt? You found him?”
“Yeah, we found him. Carlos told me that Kurt is still in Strico!” Jonathan
said.
Upon hearing Kurt’s name, Rosalie almost staggered unsteadily. She wondered if they would be
able to locate the whereabouts of the other child since they had found Kurt.
Rosalie suddenly grabbed Jonathan’s wrist. “T-Take me with you!”
“Okay. I’ll bring you along,” Jonathan responded. He then turned to the two children and said,
“Daddy and Mommy are going to be quite busy today. We’ll take you to the amusement park next
time.”
Guillermo nodded in understanding, disying his sensible nature. Even Jennifer did not insist on
staying at the amusement park. Though she was –still a child, she could sense that Rosalie was
about to meet an important
person.
When they got in the car, Jennifer asked, “Mommy, is the man named ‘Kurt’ an important person?”

“Yes, he’s an important man.” Rosalie’s hand trembled when she answered her daughter.
If it were not for Kurt, she and Jonathan could have enjoyed a blissful life. They might have had
three children together instead of two, and Rosalie would not have lost her memory and been
separated from Jonathan for
five years.
All those miseries were the consequences of Kurt’s actions!
Nheless, she could not quiteprehend something that Carlos had mentioned. If Kurt had
been determined to execute his grandfather’s order to have her killed before Jonathan so that the
latter would give up on her, how did she manage to survive the ordeal?
Furthermore, she also wondered why Kurt had handed Guillermo to the Youngblood family and left
Jennifer with her.
The only way to find answers to that was to ask Kurt in person.
“Mommy, you’re shaking. Are you cold?” Jennifer asked all of a sudden. “No, I’m not. I’m just too
agitated,” Rosalie replied. She would have been more depressed if it were not for the children
around her.
After sending the two children back to the Youngblood residence, Rosalie and Jonathan went to
look for Kurt.
The location where Kurt was discovered was an ordinary rental unit. Jonathan’s men were already
guarding the house, and Carlos was waiting outside. When thetter spotted Jonathan and Rosalie,
he approached and said, “Mr. Youngblood, he’s in the room. We tried asking him about the child’s
whereabouts, but he wouldn’t talk about it.”
Jonathan pursed his thin lips, and Rosalie’s hand shook again.
Suddenly, Jonathan reached out and held Rosalie’s hand. “Anyway, since we’ve found Kurt, I’m
sure we’ll soon find out where the child is.”

At that moment, there were several other bodyguards guarding a middle-aged man when they

Rosalie took a deep breath and replied, “Yes, I’m back.” After five years of being away, she finally
returned to the Youngblood family and reunited with Jonathan.
“Wait outside,” Jonathan said to the men in the room.
His subordinates nodded in response and left the room.
“Where’s the child?” Jonathan asked indifferently.
“Child? I’ve given you the babies, haven’t I? I handed one over to the Youngblood family and left the
other to your wife,” Kurt replied.
“You know which child I’m referring to!” Jonathan’s voice grew colder. “They were supposed to be
triplets. What about the third child?”
“You expect all three babies to pull through? You should be d that two of the three children
survived, Mr. Youngblood.” Kurt mocked.
Rosalie staggered when she heard about the third child. “Is that kid still alive?” She gazed at Kurt
with bloodshot eyes.
Even though the answer might not be what she had expected to hear, as a mother, she felt the need
to know what had happened to the missing child.
However, Kurt gave her the cold shoulder. Instead, he simply stared at Jonathan and asked, “Five
years have passed, and yet you still want to be with this woman?”
Jonathan, in an aloof manner, replied, “She’s my wife and the mother to my children. Of course, I’ll
want to be with her.”
“Do you love her?” Kurt continued asking.
“Who are you to question me? And why should I answer you?” Jonathan retorted. “I can let you off if
you tell me the child’s whereabouts. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you spend the rest of your life behind
bars.”
Not showing any fear about his future, Kurt dered, “You’re the head of the Youngblood family, so

lead the Youngblood family to its downfall if I want to, even if you have eliminated my so-called
weakness. My grandfather has been gone for many years. Why are you still following his
directives?”
