Tony felt hesitant about what he was about to say.
His hesitance made Victoria realize that something was up, so she asked, “Did
something happen?”
He never asked about her romantic life in the past. Did he find out that I made things
clear with Bane?

“Snowball…” Tony used her nickname. “It’s not that I want to interfere with your matters,
but… I think there’s something you should know.”
“Go on.” Victoria felt mentally prepared for this conversation.
“Recently, I heard that his father is looking to matchmake him with someone.
Matchmake him with someone? She exhaled in relief. “Is that what you wanted to talk
about, Dad? I assumed…”
“What do you mean?” He was a perceptive person too. “Is it unimportant to you? You
and Bane…”

sighed. “I was worried you would feel hurt. I didn’t think that you and Bane have…”
“Bane and I aren’t suitable for each other, Dad. It’s been so long. I don’t want to waste
any more of this time.”
“That’s true. It’s been so many years. If you don’t think you can be with him, then it’s
best not to waste his time, but… he’s been wooing you for so many years now. Are you
going to decide so quickly? Don’t you want to take a bit more time to consider?”

Victoria had indeed been touched by how well Bane took care of her. She thought
about opening her heart to him too. She tried her best, but she failed. After all these
years, she still couldn’t romantically think of him.
Even she felt helpless about it. Though she knew full well that he was a great man in
many ways, love was not something that could be reasoned with. She couldn’t see him
in a romantic light and only thought of him as a brother.

A thought urred to him, and he asked tentatively, “After returning to the country, did
you run into anyone from your past?”
“Just go ahead and ask me whatever it is that you want to know, Dad. There’s nothing
we need to hide between us.”
Tony chuckled. “You’re being very open and honest.”
“Dad, you think there’s a reason why Bane and I suddenly separated, right?”

at all, let alone take care of them.”
Victoria was quite nonchnt about it. “If that happens, I’ll send the children back to
you and let them stay with you.”
Tony immediately agreed. “That’s right. If he tries to snatch them from you, just send
them over to me.”
“Yeah.”
“Still…” Tony sounded doubtful. “Are you sure you won’t get involved with him again? Is
he really not the reason why you and Bane separated?”
“Why would he be the reason why? You’re overthinking it, Dad. Even without him in the
picture, Bane and I wouldn’t end up together either. I’m sure you know that too.”
Tony gave it some serious thought. “That’s true.”
Since he got the answers to his questions, he didn’t keep Victoria on the phone. They
talked for a little while longer before they said their goodbyes.
Once the call ended, Victoria became lost in her thoughts. His father’s looking for
people to matchmake him with, huh? That’s fast… I guess he has finally given up on me

She was a little speechless.
“Maybe you should read the terms first to confirm whether or not you wish to sign it.”
“I don’t need to.” ric’s voice was low but firm. “I’ll agree to anything you set.”
From the moment heid eyes on her again, he had been prepared to hand over
everything he had to her, regardless of whether she was willing to return to his side.
