Chapter 1586

    Chapter 1586

"You don''t think anything is wrong with my ways?" Leah was a little surprised. She didn''t seem to

believe Ernest''s words, there was doubt in his tone. "You''re a righteous man but you''re not going to

    question what I just said?"

"There''s nothing questionable about it, it''s good logic. If a man broke his promise, he should be

punished ordingly. But I hope you''ll never meet such irresponsible men in the future."

Leah understood him in the dark, and the corners of his mouth curved upwards, revealing a proud

smile. "Since you said that, I''m assuming you''re one of the responsible men out there?"

Ernest nodded and said softly, "Yes, I''m a very responsible person. I want to live the best life I can

have, so that''s why I''m being cautious and passive."

Leah suddenly felt a little embarrassed. She yanked the nkets and turned around to face Ernest.

Even though they couldn''t see each other in the dark, she was still a little nervous. She said slowly,

    "Ernest."

Upon hearing Leah''s voice, Ernest was enchanted.

His entire body went stiff as she faced him. Her voice was painfully seductive.

A sharp light shed through Ernest''s eyes. He felt a blow of hot breath pressing against him.

He almost couldn''t hold back his urge to hug Leah.

Leah took a deep breath and said, "That''s why I feel like marriage is a contract. Both parties should

be ountable for their responsibilities, only then can such a person be deemed as someone

    responsible.

My father isn''t a real man, that''s why he was struck with an illness. But the illness isn''t what''s

important to him, no, the loss of his pleasure is. Now that God has taken away his pleasure, he''s left

with torture, mental and physical torture that holds him back from the tastes he would have been

    getting.

Heaven is fair, it punishes people ordingly so that each of us has equality. Would it be too much

if I said all that to him?"

Ernest smiled helplessly. He thought she was about to say something else, but she ended up saying

so much for the sake of condemning her father.

"Did he treat you horribly?" asked Ernest softly.

"The way he treated me was neither good nor bad, but at least I didn''t starve to death. From ten to

eighteen years old, and even up till college and university, I was the one who had to raise myself.

His illness cost me half of the money I earned from the rights of my books, and as for the other half,

I didn''t want to spend it on him. I intend to buy a ce for myself." Leah smiled. "But I''m conflicted

now that he has to stay in the hospital for a while longer. Even though I''veined about him

non-stop, I have to continue paying for his treatment. I want to prolong his suffering."

    This silly girl.

The way she talked about him proved she hadplicated feeling for her father.

"You still love him." Ernest said, "He''s your father after all. There''s nothing wrong with you paying for

his medical bills. You''re worried about him but you''re also angry at him. You''re feeling conflicted

now, but I know even after saying all these things, you will still continue to help him with his

    treatment."

Leah stuck her tongue out in the dark, feeling a little embarrassed.

He had seen through her thoughts.

She didn''t deny it, and spoke no further.

"You''ve done the best that you could. Not everyone can do what you''ve done." Ernest said

    sincerely.

Leah sighed, "I don''t know if what I''m doing is right. Either way, I have a clear conscience.

Compared to what he did to me, what I''ve done for him was extremely benevolent and selfless. I

don''t feel sad seeing him ill, only regret and hatred. Seeing him in pain, I hope his life wille to a

stop. But then I think about what he''s done in the past, and I pity him. No, he has to suffer. I hope

that he will repent, even though I know there''s a slim possibility that it''ll ever happen."

"Do what your heart tells you," said Ernest. "I know you''ll be able to keep a clear conscience, that''s

the best decision you can make."

They talked for a long, long time, as if they were letting out the thoughts that were gnawing at their

    minds.

After some time had passed, they stopped talking and were ready to fall asleep.

Leah slept soundly, but she was clueless as she rolled to Ernest''s side, even snuggling into his

    arms.

Ernest felt her scent waft into his nose in the middle of her night. Her soft body leaned against his,

and he felt his blood rushing at the contact.

His drowsiness had been driven away, and he was now sweating profusely.

In the dark, he looked down to see her petite

    outline.

He breathed in her faint scent, and he could only describe it as clear and enticing.

There was nothing he could do, and he desperately wanted to take a cold shower

However, Leah was clinging to him tightly, he couldn''t move a muscle.

Leah had one leg over his waist, and her other leg was secured onto him.

The position felt a little too intimate.

The veins on Ernest''s forehead were throbbed. He was on the verge of copsing when Leah

    muttered, "Haha, we''re hugging."

Ernest was shocked. He thought Leah was awake, but when he looked down, he found Leah

    breathing evenly.

She was asleep, so she must have been dreaming.

    "We''re hugging"?

    Who was she hugging?

Was she hugging him in her dreams?

"Could she be dreaming of me?" he thought wishfully.

If she was having such a dream, Ernest only hoped he was the one that was appearing in it.

This girl had been tormenting him the entire night, and it was only until dawn when he finally

    received some shut eye.

It was terrible enough that Leah appeared in his dreams, and it got even worse when it was

projected in full rity. It was like he saw every part of Leah.

Ernest''s heart acted out rashly as if had lost all control.

Then, he was awakened by the cold temperature.

Upon opening his eyes, Ernest immediately detected a problem with his body. It was an experience

any adolescent boy would undoubtedly be familiar with.

He was faced with a physical hindrance. He lowered his head to look at himself and felt a wave of

awkwardness setting in. If he wanted to make it seem like nothing happened, he had to change his

    clothes.

But who would have thought Leah would be roused awake just from a single movement from his

    body?

    Ernest flushed red.

Leah woke up and rubbed her eyes. He looked at Ernest and asked, "Why is your face so red in the

    early morning?"

Ernest was frozen in ce, but his face turned

    shades redder.

Leah rubbed her eyes and asked in surprise, "Ernest, did you catch a cold because of me? How

else would your face get so red?"

Leah got up and ced a palm on Ernest''s forehead. His face was burning hot. Leah cried, "Oh my,

you''re heating up! What happened? Did I really infect you with my cold? I''m sorry, I''m so sorry."

    Leah hurriedly apologized.

Ernest was even more embarrassed. He was slightly bent over, signaling part of his body to prevent

himself from standing straight. He didn''t want Leah to catch him in his awkward predicament, so he

quickly brushed it off, "I''m fine, it''s not a cold."

"Then why is your face so red if it isn''t a cold?" Leah asked in surprise.

"I told you, it''s not a cold," Ernest reiterated. "I''m going to the bathroom."

Then, as if escaping, he fled to the bathroom. The strange thing was, he took his clothes with him.

    Leah watched him leave, puzzled.

Ernest was washing his underwear when Leah watched him with a confused look. Then, a thought

popped into her head and she asked, "Hey, Ernest, did you have some kind of dream?"

Ernest was stiff all over, there was nothing he could say.

Leah blinked and looked at him with a dubious smile. "I see what''s happening. You had the type of

dreams young men like you often have. Your clothes were dirty when you woke up. Is that what this

    is?"

How could a girl ask such a direct question?

Ernest was weak against Leah''s words and blushed.

Why was Leah always asking all sorts of questions

Ernest looked at the girl in front of him and sighed internally. "How can you ask so

    straightforwardly?"

"Because I''m curious. I don''t think there''s much for me toment on. Since you''re stuck in this

situation, why don''t you tell me what''s going on? Come on, tell me about it, Mr. Jones." Leah''s

posture suggested that she was ready to listen to whatever Ernest would say.

Ernest was speechless and incredibly embarrassed.

Leah was probably the only girl in his entire life who could render him this flustered.

She never yed by the rules.

"Come on, let''s talk about it. The more we discuss it the merrier it''ll be."

"Shut up. Stop talking." Ernestmanded her fiercely for a long while.
