Chapter 1570

    Chapter 1570

Leah understood now why Ernest held himself back so carefully.

She also found out why he refused to date casually as well.

It turned out that Ernest was a very honest person, and once he fell for someone, he might love

them for the rest of his life.

Initially, Leah still had some misgivings, but they disappeared once Ernest exined his situation.

She only felt deep admiration, and felt that this boy was even more rare and precious.

She had fallen for the right person.

He was a responsible man, and Leah was all smiles when she raised her head to look at Ernest

again. She had not a trace of sadness in her gaze, only calm.

Ernest gave Leah a serious look and he put together what she said and her expression now to find

that Leah seemed to have changed. Did what he say finally reassure her?

Ernest was smart, and he understood what was going on.

Although he wasn''t extremely clear with Leah, at least she understood what he meant.

Hence, he was deeply relieved and said to Leah, "Leah, you''re amazing too. I know that you''re just

as responsible as me. You''re a good girl."

"Thank you," Leah replied with a smile. There was a twinkle in her eye, and it was very attractive.

Ernest felt that Leah was also a very responsible person, and he knew that Leah liked him.

Otherwise, she would not have based a character on him. The description of the character''s facial

features and personality matched Ernest''s perfectly.

If a woman could write a character about someone in real life, then they had to feel a certain kind of

    way about them.

Furthermore, Leah''s actions made Ernest certain that she liked him.

However, neither of them confessed. It wasn''t because they didn''t like one another enough, it was

just because they didn''t want to be reckless.

Therefore, they were all very sensible.

Although Leah seemed to be the kind of person that threw all caution to the wind, she was actually

very serious when it came to rtionships. She wouldn''t start one just for the sake of it.

Ernest felt quite relieved when he thought of this. At least he didn''t have to spell it out for her.

As long as they understood each other, it was enough.

It was alreadyte in the afternoon when the IV drip was done. Meanwhile, Ernest stood at the

    window, staring outside.

He could see the zing sunset glow and feel the cold wind blowing. Leah put on her clothes and

turned to look at Ernest. He was also looking at her with his head ant.

    They exchanged understanding smiles.

Ernest had a gentle, warm smile on his face as he gazed at Leah.

Leah said, "If you''re busy, then go home. I feel much better today, and you don''t have to stay with

me all the time. You don''t have much time left here, so you should be with your family instead. I

don''t want your mom to yell at me."

Ernest shook his head and said, "I''ll take you home first. I''ll head hometer."

He hadn''t taken a shower for a whole day. He wanted to go home, change, and get some toiletries.

Although Leah was looking much better when they arrived at her apartment, he insisted on taking

her up to her door before he left.

Before he left, he said to Leah, "I''ll be back in two hours. I''ll get some takeout."

"Sure, up to you." Leah smiled agreeably and she handed him a set of keys. "These are the keys to

    my ce. Take them."

Ernest looked at the keys in her outstretched hand and smiled. He took them before he headed

    downstairs.

Leah was very happy because this meant that he woulde back.

When Ernest returned home, he saw everyone sitting in the living room. His parents, Gary, Celeste

and his brothers were all there.

It seemed very lively at home.

As soon as Grace saw him, she eximed in surprise, "Oh no! Why are you back so early? Aren''t

you supposed to be taking care of that girl? Son, you need to be more caring! Don''t be so selfish!"

Ernest was very frustrated as he looked at his mother.

Gary''s eyes were filledwith amusement as he teased Ernest.

"Ernest, I heard you found a girl. Who is she? Ask her toe over so we can meet her," Gary

    chuckled.

Celeste was also smiling at him, as if everyone knew that he had a girlfriend.

Then, Sylvia came bounding down the steps until she reached Ernest. She was barely fifteen years

old, and yet she was already five foot six.

"Ernest, I want to see your girlfriend." Sylvia smiled as she spoke.

Meanwhile, Sebastian did not say anything. He was a tall and thin boy, almost five foot seven.

He was approaching puberty, and he was growing to be a very handsome man.

He didn''t say a word. Instead, he just gave Ernest a smile.

Ernest turned to look at Heinz. His father had a frown on his face, but Ernest couldn''t really tell what

    he was feeling.

"Where is she from? Can you show us a picture?" Grace pushed for an answer.

    N?velDrama.Org owns this text.

Ernest felt equally exasperated and amused, and he shrugged at the sight of his entire family''s sly

nces. "It''s not what you think, guys. I''m not that easygoing."

Gary raised his eyebrows and asked, "Why does it feel like you''re referring to someone?"

Suddenly, something urred to Ernest. Before he could reply, Sylvia interjected, "Gary, he''s

    talking about you."

"No, I don''t mean that. Don''t misunderstand me!" Ernest immediately looked at Celeste.

However, what he said made Celeste very embarrassed, and she didn''t know what to do.

Ernest felt a little sheepish as he looked over at Celeste. He cursed himself for having no filter

because of his nerves, but Grace immediately smoothed the situation over. "Ernest, seems like

you''re talking about your dad and I. Your dad was married twice, and we stumbled our way through

    all of my pregnancies."

Ernest gave his mother a grateful smile for her help. Thankfully, his mother said that, if not Celeste

would think he was talking about her.

Her mother had told Celeste about her rtionship with Heinz. It looked like Grace really cared

    about Celeste.

Then, Ernest said to Grace, "It really isn''t what you think. I''m gonna go up and shower before I head

    out again."

"Oh! So you''re back just to take a bath, huh? So there is something going on! Ernest, how about

you take me with you? I''d like to meet her." Sylvia grinned widely as she spoke.

"No way, your brother is shy. Stay home with your father," Grace said to Sylvia.

"What''s so good about staying with dad? Ernest is good looking, so he must have pulled a pretty

one. Please mom, I wanna go and see," Sylvia replied in a coy voice.

"Won''t you apany your dad? He''ll be sad if you don''t."

Grace tried to remind her daughter.

Sylvia nced at Heinz and saw that his expression had turned cold.

Then, she went over to Heinz and said, "Daddy, I didn''t mean that."

Heinz nced at his daughter and sighed with heavy resentment.

Meanwhile, Ernest took advantage of the distraction to go upstairs.

However, chaos erupted as soon as he made it upstairs.

All kinds of screams and yelling were heard.

However, he couldn''t be bothered with it.

Sylvia was busy soothing Heinz. Obviously, Heinz was not so easy to persuade.

    Meanwhile, Gary brought Celeste upstairs.

Of course, Sebastian was a mommy''s boy, and he faithfully stayed with Grace.

It was chaotic downstairs, but it was very lively.

"Sebastian, you haven''t said a word. You''re unusually quiet today." Grace nced over at her

    youngest done.

Sebastian gave a faint smile in response and said, "Mom, I''m quiet every day."

Grace was speechless for a moment.

"You''re different from Ernest and Gary."

Sebastian nodded and said seriously, "They''ve fallen in love so early. I personally don''t think it''s the

right thing for them to do."

    Grace was dumbstruck.

This was probably the most words Sebastian had ever said in a sentence.

"Oh no, Sebastian. You''re not allowed to be a monk. I don''t ask for much from you. I just want you

    to be happy," Grace replied.

"The happiness borne out of love is the most fleeting," Sebastian said as he got up and nced at

his father and sister. "Mom, I''ll head upstairs to read."
