    Chapter 1385

Celeste bought whatever she needed and packed them into several bags. She took her own sweet

time and found a nice and quiet ce to order a cup of coffee. Then, she sat down and enjoyed her

    drink quietly.

She was not the kind of girl who could not sit still. Since young, she enjoyed peace and quiet. At this

moment, even if her emotions were already surging and she felt really sad, she could still calm

down and quietly figure everything out.

Celeste thought about it over and over again. The only conclusion that she came to was that she

    wasn''t wrong.

She did not think that she was being petty.

Gary''s attitude towards Janice was very special. It was really strange that he could immediately

leave to deal with her problems after receiving a phone call.

In Celeste''s point of view, these matters should be dealt with by the butler instead. The butler was

situated in London, and he was familiar with the surroundings. In fact, he was more experienced

when it came to these situations.

Gary could''ve even asked Alex to settle it too, but he chose to drive there immediately to deal with

    the matter himself.

As a woman, her intuition told her that Janice had a special ce in Gary''s heart.

If he could speak casually and joke around with Janice, she was definitely different.

Celeste was not angry that Gary had gone to help Janice out. She was angry that he came back

with the scent of a girl''s perfume and a lipstick stain on his shirt, but she was not even allowed to

    ask about it.

From Celeste''s point of view, all of these made her frustrated and furious.

Yet, he did not want to admit it because she had seen through him.

She exposed his thoughts, which made him angry.

Celeste knew that she had to calm down now. She had to deal with this matter rationally and not

    give in emotionally.

In her understanding of love, she had to be a little more dominant and selfish. No matter what Gary

thought and regardless of what other people thought, she wanted an exclusive rtionship. If her

feelings were not reciprocated, she would rather break it off.

If Gary couldn''t provide her that, he should let her go.

Even if she was going to get hurt, she would not give in to him anymore.

She could deal with Gary''s bad temper, but she could not take it when Gary was being too nice to

other girls. This was not allowed.

As she stirred the coffee gently in the cup, she gazed downwards with a hint of firmness in her eyes.

After finishing her coffee, she paid the bill and grabbed the bags of groceries, ready to go home.

She would go back and have a good talk with Gary. If he was still so impulsive, then she would

    move back to her dorm.

After making her decision, Celeste returned to the vi.

The entire mansion was very quiet, and the car in the garage was gone.

It looked like Gary had gone out.

Celeste sighed slightly. She ced the stuff she bought in the refrigerator and went upstairs to take

    a bath.

Gary''s dirty clothes were piled up in aundry basket in the bathroom. The shirt that was filled with

a woman''s scent was also inside.

She nced at the clothes and looked away. She still felt that the shirt was irritating to her.

Perhaps she was being petty, but she wanted to be.

After a shower, Celeste dried her hair and changed into a rather conservative set of pajamas. Then,

she went downstairs to make something for herself to eat.

She had to move forward, and she would not abuse or treat herself badly. Even when she felt very

upset, Celeste would always tell herself that she had to appreciate her own life.

Even if the whole world abandoned her, she still had to treat herself properly, enjoy the present and

    anticipate the future.

She wanted to work very hard and be a useful person to society..

As she was alone, she only made one serving of vegetable sd. She sat down and ate quietly at

    the dining table.

Suddenly, the sound of a car engine was heard.

Then came the sound of automatic gates opening. A car entered the garage, followed by the loud

sound of a car door being mmed shut.

The corridor on the side of the dining hall led straight to the garage. Gary''s tall and looming figure

soon appeared in the corridor, and he saw Celeste.

He heaved a sigh of relief.

When he saw the lights in the dining hall from outside just now, he was delighted to know that she

    came back safely.

Now, he was truly relieved when he saw Celeste safe and sound, right in front of him.

His deep eyes stared straight at Celeste. He strode over and noticed that she was eating a simple

    dish.

Once again, his eyebrows were deeply furrowed, and he watched Celeste with aplicated look.

He asked her coldly, "When did youe back?"

Celeste looked up and met Gary''s gaze. His tone made it clear that he was still questioning her.

Celeste just replied softly, "A while ago."

"Why did you turn off your phone?" He asked again, still using a very cold tone.

"I didn''t feel like answering the phone," Celeste admitted.

Gary looked down at her, and he seemed a bit exhausted. He sat down at the dining table and

    continued staring at her.

Meanwhile, Celeste lowered her gaze to avoid eye contact, and she continued to eat her sd

    quietly.

She was not impulsive and did not let her emotions take over her. She just asked faintly, "Have you

eaten yet? Do you want to eat something?"

"I''m not hungry," Gary had eatente afternoon. It was supposed to be brunch, but they only got the

chance to eat only a few hours ago, so he had eaten more than usual. Thus, he wasn''t hungry.

    Celeste then stopped talking.

Gary looked at her seriously. Celeste was eating her food quietly with her gaze cast downwards.

Shepletely ignored Gary''s existence, making him feel like he was at a loss.

He suddenly got up and washed his hands. He then went to the refrigerator, and opened it to take a

look. The refrigerator was filled with new groceries, and the previous vegetables and meat were all

    gone.

He turned around and looked at Celeste, asking, "You went grocery shopping just now?"

Celeste grunted as a response, then fell silent once more.

Her attitude was very distant, and she did not look at him at all.

Gary knew that deep down, she was still angry.

He frowned. After taking a look at the ingredients in the refrigerator, he took out some ham and cut

it into slices. Then, he fried some and ted them nicely before serving them.

Gary said, "Your food is too in. You''re already very thin. Have some meat."

Celeste merelymented faintly, "Thank you, but there''s no need to as these vegetables are

    enough for me."

She really didn''t touch the ham slices. After eating the vegetables, she got up and went to wash her

    te.

Gary had been staring at her all this while. Seeing that Celeste seemed to be throwing a tantrum,

he reached out and grabbed her wrist.

Celeste looked up and met his eyes. His eyes were filled with mes as he shot her a cold and

cruel look, stunning her in her tracks.

"Let''s talk after I wash the tes," Celeste decided to say, "Please control your emotions. I don''t

want to discuss any problems while we''re both angry. Let''s take some time to cool off, Gary."

These simple and casual words were calm and distant, causing Gary to feel dejected instantly.

Celeste washed the dishes in the sink, wiped the te with a clean cloth, and arranged the cutleries

neatly aside. Then, she finally turned around to dry her hands.

Gary continued to gaze at her just like that. His fiery stare started to calm down as he stared at

    Celeste.

    Why didn''t she believe him?

He really felt like grinding his teeth in anger. He was resisting the temptation to pick her up, throw

her on the bed, and teach her a lesson. He wanted her to know that he never had any feelings for

    other women.

Celeste walked past him and said to him, "Come to the sofa."

After that, she walked over and sat down.

She looked at Gary and asked, "Have you calmed down now?"

Gary''s eyebrows creased as he shot, "Celeste, don''t speak to me in such a cold tone. I''ve always

    been rational."

"Can you control your temper? Don''t get angry once we start talking," Celeste''s tone was still

indifferent, "I don''t want you to get angry before I say anything. If that''s going to happen, it''s better if

    we don''t talk at all."

D*mn it. Celeste was really testing his patience.

Gary looked at her and gritted his teeth. Finally, he gave in, "Fine, talk to me. I promise I won''t get

    angry,"

"Okay," Celeste managed to get his promise and said, "I smelled perfume on your body, and I saw a

lipstick stain on your clothes. It made me very ufortable."

Gary was startled. He pressed his lips together and knitted his brows tightly. He instinctively knew

that she did not believe him at all.

"I''m only asking you if you''ve hugged another woman," Celeste spoke again in an extremely serious

    tone.

"No," Gary muttered. His tone was still livid, but he restrained himself quite a bit.

Celeste looked at him and asked again, "Well, let me put it in another way. Did you allow a woman

    to hug you?"

Gary was taken aback. He really didn''t expect Celeste to ask the same question from a different

perspective. An image shed through his mind.

Janice cried when she saw him. She also threw herself at him and hugged him.

That lipstick mark probably came from there.

His handsome face turned all gloomy, and a little bit of awkwardness started creeping in.

Celeste noticed the change of expression on his face and sighed faintly, "It seems that you have

remembered something. Do you think that I should believe in you just because you didn''t hug

someone when it was the other way around? That I should have just kept quiet and believed in you

    wholeheartedly instead?"

Gary felt a little distressed, as if his thoughts had been exposed.
