Chapter 320

    Chapter 320

When the phone rang, Heinz was smoking. He was not in a hurry to answer the phone because he had

never thought that Grace would call him.

After puffing his cigarette, he was still taking his own sweet time and didn''t touch the food on the table.

The butler hid in the corner far away and did not dare to go forward. After he had sent Grace back and

reported to Heinz, he then left his master alone.

    The phone was still ringing.

Heinz put out his cigarette in the ashtray and spit out another puff of smoke. Then, he picked up the

phone on the table and took a look at it.

As soon as he saw the call on the screen, his eyes immediately widened in shock. The contact number

seemed to be a little familiar.

It was not until he examined it carefully that he suddenly realized who was calling.

He quickly clicked the answer button. The next second, his voice sounded a little excited. "Hello?"

Grace''s voice came from the other side, "Heinz, it''s Grace."

Heinz was bewildered and quickly answered, "I know, I know."

Heinz''s voice sounded so excited. Grace could tell that his voice was hoarse, and she could hear

    anxious breathing from the receiver.

Grace pursed her lips, "Heinz, after much thinking, I think I should call you."

    "What is it?" Heinz asked.

Heinz was utterly surprised to receive the phone call from Grace. Had she figured out her feelings for

    him?

"Grace, if you have something to say, just say it," Heinz urged. He quickly adjusted his mood with an

expectation on his face, hoping that Grace would give the answer that he wanted.

"Okay, I''ll get straight to the point." Grace said, "I know that Ernest is not your child. Officer Charm had

    told me about it."

"So you believe in Jensen, but not me?" Heinz asked with a trace of emotion in his voice.

"That''s not the point," Grace continued. "Ernest is a good child. Whether he is your child, it''s not

important to me now. Heinz, what I wanted to say is that we are not suitable for each other."

"You have said to me that if Ernest is not my child, you will consider to be with me," Heinz became

anxious as he pursued. "What are you trying to say now?"

"What I said before was just a scheme of my rights. We truly are not suitable for each other. This is the

result of my careful consideration. I hope we can both be amicable about this," Grace exined

    seriously.

"No, Grace, don''t torture me anymore," Heinz begged. "I''ve already apologized. What else do you want

    me to do?"

Grace was firm in her stance as she repeated, "I don''t want us to waste each other''s time. I really don''t

think we are suitable for each other."

"Why are we not suitable? We were so in sync. How dare you say we''re not?" Heinz blurted, "Even if

you say we are not suitable, you felt pleasurable in the newspaper office''s bathroom earlier today. Your

    body epted me."

Grace''s heart was stung by his words. She only felt humiliated when he mentioned that.

"Heinz, can you be reasonable?" Grace bellowed angrily, "I don’t want to be with you. I don''t want to

continue to argue with you like this. Do you understand?"

"I don''t care. I will give you the medical report of me and Ernest. You can only be my woman,” Heinz

    protested overbearingly.

Grace took a deep breath, "You''re unreasonable. You can''t force others to do anything you want."

"No, I can," Heinz dered in a domineering tone again.

Grace shut her mouth as she was clueless as what to say to him anymore.

In the phone, only the sound of each other''s breathing could be heard. The heavy panting of anger.

Heinz was probably aware of his poor attitude, so he adjusted his tone slightly, "Grace, whether we’ re

appropriate for each other or not, it''ll take a lifetime to sum up."

"Heinz." Grace exined patiently, "I''m really tired of this. Think about it carefully. How long have we

    been together?"

Heinz was dumbfounded at her question.

"It''s only been a few months. But how much time have we spent quarreling?" Grace replied calmly,

"Obviously, we are not suitable for each other."

Heinz was not willing to back down, he said, "Grace, the way you said it, is it because I have a son?"

"No," Grace interrupted him in a sullen voice. "I''m not that narrow-minded. Ernest is a good kid. I like

the child, but your personality makes me feel insecure. When I am with you, I have to bear with your

anger and humiliation at any time. I don’t know when you will suddenly be angry, and I may not be able

    to tolerate you."

"But earlier on, you have wavered. As long as I put in the effort, you will promise me to reconcile,"

    Heinz reasoned.

"I did not waver," Grace sighed. "Ask yourself. If I fought fiercely at that time, what would happen?"

Heinz was stunned and didn''t say anything.

Grace took a deep breath, "If I''ve struggled and resisted, the result would be the same as what

happened in the newspaper office''s bathroom."

    Heinz was rendered speechless.

"Heinz, let''s not make things difficult for both of us," Grace said again earnestly. "Let''s be friends. We''re

really not suitable to be a couple. Someday, I''ll introduce my son to you."

"You don''t want to be my woman anymore. Why do I need to know your son?" Heinz asked back

    mercilessly.

Grace quivered at his tone, then she said, "Well, since you don''t want to be friends, let''s be strangers."

"How dare you!" Heinz cried out.

As Grace listened to his exasperated voice, she said earnestly, "Heinz, when can you learn to ease

your temper? You''re just controlling a woman. That is not love. Possessiveness and love are not the

same. We don''t love each other. Let''s admit it."

Heinz was shocked, and his heart was pricked by Grace''s words.

"You don''t love me?" Heinz asked with difficulty.

Grace hesitated for a moment and answered softly, "Yes, I don''t love you."

He then asked as he wasn''t convinced, "Then, why did you surrender yourself to me back then?"

"Maybe I was solely being attracted to you," Grace said. She was very confused. She looked at the

night sky, her eyes full of destion. She suppressed her emotions at the bottom of her heart as she

knew that love was not supposed to be like this.

If there was no respect or equality, she would rather not have it.

"Just attraction?" Heinz sneered, "Didn''t you enjoy it too?"

Grace was once again stung by his spiteful words. He was always like that. He would humiliate her with

    these things.

Her voice was calmer now. Since she had known he would do that, there was no need for her to be

    bothered by it.

She said lightly, "Heinz, you always talk about sex. I can''t refute it. I admit that we are a match in that

aspect, but life is not just about sex."

"In my opinion, you can''t be happy if you didn''t enjoy sex," Heinz said. He literally made Grace

    speechless.
