Chapter 667
When | woke up at midnight, Hendrix was not around. So, | got out of bed and went to Anne''s bedroom.
Anne was sleeping soundly. Hendrix had given her room warm and cozy interior designs. As she slept quietly, she looked like an
angel that had fallen from the sky.
After watching her quietly as she slept, my wandering mind came back to the present moment. Much to my astonishment,
Hendrix had been standing behind me.
| sluggishly turned to look at him. Sensing | was still a little drowsy, he walked towards me. He held me in his arms and hugged
me for a while. After that, he led me out of Anne''s bedroom.
We went back to our bedroom. Lying on the bed, | asked, "What did Josiah tell you?"
| didn''t get to ask him about it as | was enervated on our way back home.
He looked at me and pursed his lips. After a brief pause, he replied, "It''s about Anne. The Saunders family found out about her.
They want her to stay with them."
| smacked themp on the bedside table and it fell off. | felt myself bing more hysterical as | said through gritted teeth,
"Over my dead body."Content rights belong to N?velDrama.Org.
Letting out a sigh, he got off the bed and started picking up themp carefully with his bare hands. There were shards of ss on
the floor. Pursing my lips, | felt a tinge of affection and annoyance at the same time.
After cleaning up the mess on the floor, he turned to look at me. "If you insist on having Anne stay with us, I''ll try to convince
Josiah. But Arianna, we need to ask Anne about how she feels about all this."
"She''s just a kid. How would she know what to say? We''ve been through thick and thin together for the past four years. She''s my
everything. Josiah can''t take her away from me. At least I''ll love her unconditionally if she''s by my side; the same can''t be said if
she stays with Saunders. Are you certain that Josiah will take good care of her? Will the Saunders family members treat her
well? Who does he think he is? I''ve given my all to raise this child. He can''t take her away at his whims and fancies."
It had never been my intention to let Josiah take Anne away from me. Neither would | permit him to do so.
Hendrix sat beside me. He reached out to hold my hand before patting it gently to console me. He assured, "Nobody will force
you if you stand your ground. Honey, it''s gettingte. Let''s hit the sack."
My gut told me Hendrix was hiding something from me. | just didn''t have the slightest idea what it was.
| had just sent Anne off when Irvin called me. Though | didn''t want to answer it, | knew | had to.
"What''s up?" | said into the phone.
The brouhaha to our stories had just subsided. Thus, | wanted to minimize our contact with one another.
The voice over the phone sounded soft. He said, "Are you someone who never honors her promises?”
| was dazed for a moment. | racked my brain, but | couldn''t remember what promise | had made. "What have | promised?"
He exined, annoyance in his voice, "You''re supposed toe over to my ce this month to cook me a meal. Has it slipped
your mind?"
It all came flooding back after he rified, sending waves of shock through my body. A lot of things had happened in the past few
days, and this naturally, became the least of my concerns. And thus, it slipped my mind. Now that he jogged my memory, |
remembered everything | said.
