Chapter 666
| did not know to what extent what Chloe said had affected Monique. Evenn, who was by her side at that point in time, only
managed to hear part of what Chloe said.
He sneered and stopped talking as he directed his gaze back to Anne. "| won''t marry Chloe. Anne is a Saunders. She''ll have to
return to the Saunders eventually.”
| was stunned. | didn''t expect him to be this blunt.
| felt devastated. | raised my head, looked at him, and eventually lost myposure, "Josiah, Anne is not going back to the
Saunders’. This was what Monique wanted. In fact, this was a decision | made for Anne''s emotional development''s sake. If you
insist on taking her away from me, you''d have to go through me.”
Hendrix was not in a good mood either. He stared at Josiah before interjecting coldly, "Anne won''t follow you back to the
Saunders’. You gave your consent for her to stay with us."
Looking at Hendrix, Josiah sneered, "You also promised that you''d take good care of Myra, but she''s dead now. So, please
exin yourself.”
Myra?
Who was she?
Bitterness was written all over Hendrix''s face. He retorted, "You know very well how things panned out. Honestly, did you really
think Monique and Myra''s death were idents?"
Josiah pulled a long, hurt face. He looked at Hendrix indignantly and replied, "Are you pointing the finger at me?"
Hendrix frowned, frustrated that Josiah was not catching on to what he said. He looked at me while pinching the bridge of his
nose. "Can you bring Anne downstairs and wait for me there?"
| nodded. | wanted Anne to leave. After all, | did not want her to be emotionally affected by any of this. Fortunately, Josiah did not
go berserk. He merely looked at us as we got up to leave.
When | reached the ground floor, | decided to walk out of the restaurant as | was worried someone would recognize me. We sat
on a tform decorated with flowers beside Hendrix''s car.
Anne leaned on me. Although she was young, she understood some things. She looked at me and said, "Mom, why does Mr.
Saunders want to take me away?"
| had an upset stomach, and my heart was throbbing ever so lightly. | replied while massaging my abdomen, "Mr. Saunders
wants a daughter like you."
Anne argued, "Isn''t that aunty pregnant? The moment she gives birth to a baby, Mr. Saunders will have a child of his own!"
| lowered my head. Some things were hard to exin. Before | could respond, my stomach hurt so much that | threw up
everything | ate.
Anne was shocked. She kept asking, "Mommy, are you alright?"
| felt relieved after retching. Nheless, | still felt very much under the weather. As | pulled Anne in my arms, | felt a little
disoriented.
Chloe appeared, to no surprise of mine. She looked way more haggard than thest time | saw her.
She must have caught sight of what happened earlier. She asked, "You''re nauseous. Are you pregnant?"
She then smirked scornfully at me. "Hendrix is infertile. So, is Irvin the father? To think that | always thought you were decent!"
| pursed my lips, not wanting to

She went into the restaurant quickly. Hendrix walked towards me. and asked affectionately, "Was it the food earlier?"
| shook my head and said in a feeble voice, "Let''s go home!"
He nodded. After carrying Annie into the car, he held me in his arms and led me to the passenger seat upfront.
| was feeling lethargic. | leaned back and stayed silent.
Not too long after, | fell asleep on his shoulder.
