Chapter 515
Ian send a re my way before greeting Hendrix with an awkward smile, "Nice to meet you, Mr.
Roberts."
Hendrix greeted back, "Hello."
Hendrix''s aura was so dispassionate that it was difficult for me to get close to him. Therefore, Ian went
to take care of Anne after greeting him.
I grabbed Hendrix''s hand and followed Ian into Anne''s room. The little fellow had drunk powdered milk
and was now asleep.
Hendrix gazed at the baby and was lost in thought. He raised his hand and wanted to touch the baby,
but almost instantly withdrew it.
Perhaps all men were like that. They didn''t know what to do when facing a newborn baby.
Ian took Anne''s used clothes and brought them to theundry room. Then, he looked at me and asked,
"Do you still need to take medicine today?"
I felt a little awkward being asked that question, but as soon as my gaze fell on Anne''s tiny body, I
couldn''t help but nod, "I do."
He nced at Hendrix and noticed that Hendrix''s gaze waspletely focused on the baby. He
couldn''t help but lift his eyebrows. Then, he left the room.
Only Hendrix and I were left in the room. He examined the child with care and focus. After a long time,
he turned to me and asked, "Is she Josiah''s child?"
I was shocked to hear his question as I didn''t expect that he would say such a thing all of a sudden. I
shook my head and said, "No..."Owned by N?velDrama.Org.
Seeing his deep gaze, I couldn''t help but lower my head. But I didn''t tell him what I wanted to say.
"Does he know?" He continued, his slender fingers gentlynding on Anne''s cheeks.
"He doesn''t!" Hendrix had most likely figured it out. Even if I wanted to continue hiding this truth, I was
likely to fail.
He nodded. He looked particrly handsome when he gazed at the child with a grin. "Tell Mr. Shelley
to get readyter. Well take her to the registration office and apply her residence permit. Well take her
back home to meet with all the elders of the Roberts family during the New Year."
I stared nkly at him, surprised and speechless. When he noticed that I was lost in thought, he
tightened his lips and asked, "What''s wrong?"
I shook my head. "Nothing!" I could not help but feel touched in my heart.
After a moment of hesitation, I set my eyes on Hendrix and thanked him, "Hendrix, thank you!" It was
my job to take care of Anne, but he seemed to have thought about it for me and had treated Anne as
his own child.
Ian handed me a bowl filled with the ck colored medicine. The sheer sight of it already made me feel
a little nauseous, but I had to drink it anyway.
I pinched my nose and downed it all. Then, Ian handed me a candy and suggested, "The doctor
advised that you massage it or let an adult help you with it if necessary after taking the medicine."
He was only stating facts, but as soon as he said it, he suddenly felt like that may have been an
inappropriate thing to talk about. With a nce at Hendrix, he quickly left the room without saying
anything else.
Hendrix looked at me with pursed lips. "There will be side effects if you take too much medicine. It''s not
good for your health."
I nodded as my gaze fell on Anne. After that, I said, "I want to go to the hospitalter."
"I''ll take you," he responded.
I was just about to refuse him when Anne suddenly sobbed loudly. I didn''t know what was wrong with
her.
I had little expertise in coaxing or calming children, and I didn''t dare to reach out my hands to carry her.
I rushed out of the room looking for Ian.
Ian was in the kitchen. He didn''t know how to cook, so he had asked a nanny toe over to help him.
When he heard Anne crying, he was about to go see what was going on.
"She must be hungry!" He took the milk bottle and rushed into Anne''s room.
I followed him, but he abruptly stopped in his tracks, causing me to m right into his back.
My nose hurt from the impact. "Ian, you..." I didn''t finish what I wanted to say. Both of us were stunned
by the scene before us.
In the room was Hendrix, holding the baby the size of two palms in his arms, rocking her and coaxing
her to stop crying.
Anne was exceptionally tiny, and at this moment, she was no longer crying. She only stared quietly at
Hendrix with herrge and ck eyes.
