Chapter 988
Before he knew Maja was his cousin''s wife, Ryan expressed his puzzlement and indifference towards
her, just like most people did, wondering how the Raymond family could let such a woman in.
But knowing the truth changed everything.
Maja wasn''t just talented in painting and interior design but also sessful in running her own
The princess of the Sanders family, Judith, indeed came from a powerful background, butpared to
this greenhouse flower, Maja, who had fought her way through thorns, was the real gem.
If Maja were born into a family like Judith''s, she would be even more sessful.

But if Judith were born into Maja''s circumstances, she''d be just an ordinary woman.
That’s what Ryan admired about Maja.
Maja was deeply touched by Ryan''s support. He had even helped her with the Greenfield Gardens
project.
"Mr. Elston, affairs of the heart aren''t something outsiders can interfere with. Maybe Ian hase to
his senses, thinking it''s better to find a well-matched partner."
"You can just call me Ryan, and I will ask my cousin about his thoughts."
With that, Ryan hung up the phone.
Ryan was a hot-headed and impulsive man. Now, within the entire Raymond family, he was the only
one who could persuade Ian.
Just as he was about to find Ian, he spotted Maureen about to descend the stairs.
"Ryan, where are you going?"
Ryan hadn''t spoken to his so-called mother in several days. Now, he silently changed his shoes by the
entryway, ignoring her.
Maureen felt a pang of sorrow. Everything she had done was for her son, so why had their rtionship
turned out this way?
"Ryan, if it weren''t for you, I wouldn''t have gotten involved in the Raymond family''s disputes. Your
attitude now is heartbreaking."
Ryan paused, looking up at her without expression.
"Mom, what I hate most about parents is that they always put their decisions onto their children. If you
did everything for me, you should know what I truly want. Do you think I''d be happy to see my cousin in
trouble because of you? If you disregard my wishes, don''t say it''s for me. I can''t bear it."
Maureen stood still, realizing that she didn''t really understand her son.
She thought he was just a spoiled rich kid living off his parents'' wealth. She nned to secure a decent
job for him, thinking he could live a peaceful andfortable life.
She hadn''t realized he held such resentment towards his parents.
As she fell silent, Ryan finished changing his shoes and left the house without another word.
First, he called Ian, asking where he was.
Ian was currently at Fitch''s researchb, where many people were busy analyzing data.
"What was that?"
"Cousin, I just want to have a drink with you."
Ian nced at the wall clock. He still had about an hour left here.
"You go to Greenfield Gardens first."
"Alright, cousin. I''ll wait for you there."
After hanging up, Ian continued to review the data Fitch had analyzed.
No one knew where Holden had been taken. If he had gone willingly and was helping the other party
conceal all information, then at some point, he should have released some signals.
However, none of Ian''s people, Fitch''s team, or a special task force had found any clues so far.
Ian looked at the verse printed on the draft paper.
He stared at it for several minutes, a thought shing through his mind. But a few secondster, he
shook his head slowly.
He was going crazy. What a bizarre thought.
