Chapter 2349
?
The arrival of Nathan''s entourage across the threshold prompted a chorus of greeting from a well-trained, attractive group of eight waiters. "Wee," they echoed with a bow.
At the same time, a pretty girl with short hair and a document pouch in her hand broke free of her group of other well-dressed girls to make her way
over.
“Good day, gentlemen,” she announced with a smile. “My name is Lillie, and I will be your hostess today. Is there anything you might need help with?"
Hostess? What exactly would she be doing?
Colin leaned over to whisper the answer to Nathan''s unspoken query. "These hostesses provide a wide array of services. They are tasked with rmending amenities to visitors, changing chips, or even apanying them at meals."
Nathan began to have a rough idea as he turned his attention to Lillie. "Are you in charge of customer service?" "That''s right, sir." She gazed at Nathan''s handsome features which exuded a regality that was umon amongst the men who usually frequented the casino. She felt her heart twinge with desire. “If you have any other needs, I am sure I can find a way to satisfy them,” she added, her cheeks glowing.
The corners of Colin''s lips twitched. He was well aware that most hostesses were not willing to satisfy the guests'' sexual needs. However, it would be a different story if they came across customers who spentvishly or charming and handsome men.
He could not believe his eyes when he saw the hostess hinting at her interest in Nathan.
Nathan, on the other hand, appeared not to have grasped the hint. "You''re telling me that you can get anything done for me?"
Lillie toyed with a strand of hair. "I''ve been working at this establishment for three years. I can assure you that I am very familiar with what goes on here. I am sure I have the expertise to leave you satisfied."
Nathan nodded. "Very good. You will serve me today."
Lillie beamed. "Of course, sir. My pleasure. How shall I address you?" "You can call me Mr. Cross." "Our boss, Mr. Jon, is a Mr. Cross as well. You two shared the same surname! By the way, how can I be of help, Mr. Cross? Would you like me to exchange some chips for you or to join you for a meal?"
Nathan shook his head. "None of those. I would like you to lead me to your employer, Mr. Joh Cross."
Lillie was taken aback. "A-Are you a friend of his?" she asked uncertainly.
Nathan merely smiled mysteriously. "No."
"Oh, you must be here to talk business with him. I''m afraid I''m not the right person for this. May I suggest speaking to the supervisor of our-" "There''s no need to trouble another staff while I have your kind assistance," Nathan interrupted calmly. "I''m sure you''re able to handle the task well."
Lillie began to sense that something had gone awry. Could these people be here to cause trouble?
Because of her lowly position as a hostess, she was not authorized to enter the owner''s office despite knowing where it was.
"I can''t," she said apologetically.
"Didn''t you im that you could get anything done for us? Enough games! Take us to your boss," Colin said coldly.
Several guards d in ck suits came running over at the sight of Lillie''s panicked expression.
The man leading them had gold recements for all his teeth.
"What''s going on here?" he growled, baring his teeth.
Lillie appeared relieved at the appearance of the casino''s security force.
"None of your business. Go back to where you came from," answered Colin brusquely.
The man with golden teeth had a fearsome reputation in Marsingfill and did not take kindly to how Colin spoke to him. "What the hell did you say to me?" he yelled as he reached out a hand to grab Colin by the throat.
However, Colin made a move before he could reach him.
Crack!
A loud crunch reverberated like a whip in the vastness of the lobby.
At the same moment when Colin snapped his opponent''s right wrist with his left, his right fist shot out and struck the other squarely in the face.
With a sickening thud, the impact knocked all of the gold teeth out of the man''s mouth. He was slumped to the ground before he had even managed to cry out.
Emboldened by having their numbers bolstered by a dozen more guards who came charging to the scene, the
guards yelled as they waved their batons.
The Elite Eight leaped out to confront them.
Thud! Crash! Pow!
It did not take long for every single guard under the casino''s employ to be knocked out. During the scuffle, the bystanders screamed and took cover. Lillie''s own attempt to escape was foiled the moment it was conceived.
Nathan smiled as he tightened his grip on her wrist. "Will you take us to your employer now, Lillie?"
Lillie gazed in terror at the pile of unconscious guards whoy face down in pools of blood and back at Nathan''s inscrutable smile. “All right,” she said atst, with considerable difficulty in quelling her tremble. "I''ll take you to his office."
Lillie led the way into the elevator and toward the floor where Joh''s office was located.
Another mob of angry employees was already standing in wait when the elevator doors opened.
They wererge men with beady eyes. Cracking their calloused knuckles threateningly, they made their fondness and proficiency for brawling abundantly clear to Nathan and his team.
The man in the lead was d in a dark suit with jet-ck hair down to his shoulders. Despite wearing an expression of cool detachment, he could not conceal his suspicion toward Nathan and his entourage.
"Yes, Tarkie." Looking immensely relieved, she almost sprinted away.
Tarkie only spoke again when Lillie had disappeared. "You don''t look local. You''re not from Marsingfill, are you?"
"No, I''m not," Nathan replied shortly.
"What business do you have with Mr. Jon?" "I have a proposition to make," Nathan answered as a slight smile appeared around his lips.
"Mr. Cross has no interest in doing business with strangers,” Tarkie said coldly.
"Not even a multi-billion deal?"
"Billions, you say?" Tarkie took notice at once.
Nathan merely smiled enigmatically in response.
Tarkie cast a nce at Nathan once more, taking in his smart dressing and regal presence.
He had also discovered that thoughAll content ? N/.?vel/Dr/ama.Org.

Another quick nce at the men behind Nathan informed him that they were well-dressed and well-trained.
Could he really be a rich foreign businessman here to make a deal with Mr. Jon?
Tarkie''s brows rxed after he reckoned that Nathan looked the part he was portraying. "Wait here please, sir. I shall confer with my employer." Leaving his men where they stand, he disappeared behind a door.
Not long after, Tarkie returned with a smile on his face. "Mr. Jon is very interested to hear your proposition. Please follow me. You can only bring one of your men in with you. The rest will have to stay."
Nathan ordered for the Elite Eight to remain behind while Colin and he followed Tarkie and walked toward a heavy set of wooden doors.
The office was the size of a basketball court. At the opposite end stood a desk with a life-size statue of the owner himself next to it.
Joh Cross himself was at that moment seated upon the chair behind the wide desk. His feet, adorned with loafers made of alligator skin, were ced on the table.
Arge cigar hung from his lips as he studied Nathan and Colin. "I''ve heard that you have a multi-billion business proposal. How should I address you?" he said with a smile.
nking him on both sides, eight massive bodyguards stood staring intently at Nathan and Colin for any signs of trouble.
Nathan looked as if he was in thefort of his own backyard.
Colin brought a chair over and wiped it before Nathan took a seat.
"My name is Nathan Cross.," he said casually as he gazed at Joh across from him.
A strange glint shed in Joh''s eyes when he heard the name.
"Can you be a little more specific about this multi-billion business of yours, Mr. Cross?''
Nathan took out a pack of cigarettes and helped himself to a cigarette. "The business concerns a man named Thomas Dunn who works for me. As I understand, he has incurred a sizable debt and is currently being detained here by you."
