Chapter 989
“Mrs. Marwood, you won’t tell anyone, right? Mr. Marwood is going to kill me if he finds out,” Mia said.
Even though Anne felt like her heart was being torn apart, she still worried for Mia’s safety and said
gently, “I won’t. You are the only one who would tell me this here. Thank you.”
“I didn’t dare to before, but I can’t stand watching how you are lied to anymore,” Mia said. “I don’t
understand why Mr. Marwood would marry you if he is still in love with Ms. Faye. He’s just going to end
up hurting both of you!”
Anne turned and stared off into the distance gloomily.
‘Why?‘ she thought. ‘I heard every word back in the office. Bianca was the one who forced Anthony to
marry me. I had thought that Anthony had married me for the children, and it turns out that wasn’t the
case…marrying me has always been a charity case for both Anthony and Bianca and it’s only a matter
of time that I lose everything…
“Mrs. Marwood, are you alright?” Mia asked.
“I’m fine…”
Anne walked into the living room where the children were having lunch, and returned to her room
straight – away.

It felt as though there were countless invisible hands trying to drag her down to hell and as she sank
into her thoughts, the triplets ran into the room, shouting in unison, “Mama!”
She snapped out of her dazed state and forced a smile at them. “Done with your lunch?”
“Have you eaten, Mama?” Charlie asked.
“Hayden said Mama sent lunch to Papa, so they definitely ate together!” Chloe said.
“That’s right!” Chris agreed.
Anne patted Chris on the head. “That’s true. I’ve eaten.”
She had not eaten anything after what she had heard and the humiliation she had been put through for
being neglected by her husband.
“Mama, we are going for a walk!”
“Yeah, Mama. We are going to catch butterflies!”
“In the garden!”
The triplets dragged her down the stairs and into the garden to catch butterflies.
Chris and Charlie ran after the butterflies, while Chloe recorded them with Anne’s phone.
Just as Chloe was about to take a photo of a butterfly, it flew off.
“Ah! Don’t go!” Chloe widened her eyes.
“You don’t have to get too close. Just stand here and zoom so you won’t scare the butterfly away,”
Anne said.
“Okay, Mama!” Chloe instantly learnt the trick and scrolled her fingers on the screen to zoom in on the
butterfly. Just as she was about to take a photo, a call came in and she identally answered it.
Shortly after, Anthony’s face appeared on the screen.
Chloe was shocked for a moment, before chirping, “Ah! It’s Papa!”
