For a brief moment, Yvonne’s mind went nk. She clenched her lower lip, fear finally showing in her
eyes. “Jonathan, don’t you think this is too cruel? It was you who proposed to me first. You let me fall in
love with you for so many years, and now you’re telling me you’ve fallen for someone else!”
Jonathan’s serious, “Sorry, love is something I can’t control!”
Four years ago, after being rejected by Yvonne, he never thought about dating again. For the past few

Jonathan’s tone was light but unmistakable, “It’s my business. Whether others agree or not won’t affect
my decision.”
Yvonne scoffed, “Yeah, you’ve always been like that, including going off to join the army without a word,
no one can change your decision.”
Jonathan felt he had said enough. He picked up his coat from the chair, “Estelle is waiting for me. I
should go back.”
Yvonne looked sad, “Jonathan, how did she beat me? Is it just because I came back a few months

Yvonne’s heart ached, but she nodded slowly, suppressing her pain, “I understand. You can go.”
Jonathan got up and walked two steps before stopping. His tone was t and cold, “What happened
between us has nothing to do with Estelle. Stay away from her. I don’t want to see you inviting her out
alone like today.”
After picking Estelle up at the café and getting questioned by her in the car, Yvonne had called him out
right after. How could he not guess that Yvonne had met Estelle alone and told her about the proposal
back then?
Yvonne’s face changed at his words, “Are you threatening me?”
“It’s not a threat, it’s a reminder.” Jonathan looked at Yvonne coldly. “Anyone who hurts her is my
enemy.”
Yvonne’s pupils shook, and she stared nkly at the man.
Jonathan didn’t say anything more and turned to leave.
Yvonne stared at the closed door, feeling as if her heart was being torn apart. She couldn’t ept it,
not at all. This man belonged to her, why should Estelle be allowed to steal him?
It was just a matter of a few months that she returnedte. Could those few months determine a
person’s entire life?
No way Estelle was better than her. In terms of family background, education, looks, and career, she

Yvonne covered her face with both hands, tears gushing like a fountain. She had seen too many

make a call, “Help me investigate a girl named Estelle from the University of J City. Her family, her past,
and everything that happened after she started working as a tutor at the Lamont family. I want every
detail!”
The woman hung up the phone, her eyes cold and determined. She wanted to see what tricks Estelle
