    The person by the door froze. He wasn’t expecting anyone to be at home.

    He’d gone to Janine’s house. Charles let him in. Only then did Joe know that Skr wasn’t there.


    When he was about to head home, Garth asked him to go to Avalon House.


    Then, he drove home in the middle of the night.


    Joe had thought she’d be asleep. However, she hade downstairs to drink water.


    Skr answered honestly, “I thought you were the murderer wanted by the police.”


    “A murderer?” Joeughed. He didn’t look like a murderer, did he?


    “Yeah, the news reported a robbery and homicide. It also happened in a mansion. The mother and


    her three children all died. Her husband narrowly escaped. He’d been on a business trip. The


    murderer is still


    on the run.”


    “Gxy Vi is equipped with an advanced security system. If someone wanted to rob you, they’d


    have to be invulnerable. Don’t you worry.”


    Skr nodded and asked, “Would you like some water?”


    She hadn’t checked the time after waking up. Skr had no idea what time it was.

    Joe downed his ss of water and said, “Let’s go upstairs and back to sleep.”

    Joe showered quickly and got into bed. He gathered Skr into his arms and said, “Go to bed.”
