Chapter 83: Why she tripped


    "CAREFUL!"


    Athena closed her eyes to embrace the uing pain as Ace clung himself with her.


    But the thing they were preparing themselves for never came.


    Athena felt a strong arm wrapping themselves around her waist which prevented her from falling down.


    The mind alluring scent already let her know who it was.


    "Dominic!" She eximed in a whispering tone.


    She let out a sigh of relief and hugged him tighter even after getting her bnce back.


    She didn’t feel like pulling back.


    Her heart was beating loudly inside her chest and she could feel his heartbeat as well.


    It was racing miles in one second.


    He was worried and scared for her and Ace.He didn’t want them to get hurt.He was really scared for


    them.


    She slowly pulled away from the hug even though she didn’t want to and looked at him with a worried


    look and found him looking at her the same way.


    He was breathing hard as he looked at both their faces for any kind of visible wound.


    But they were absolutely fine.


    "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?! Did you burn yourself or something else happened? Tell me! Are you


    okay?"


    Dominic eximed while examining her body from head to toe, searching for any visible wound.


    The reason for his worry was mostly because she was healing slowly still.


    The reason for her slow healing was because of two reasons now.


    Not only the rejection was still hanging around her neck, he had to take it back soon, her wolf wasn’t


    showing up as well.


    So, any small injury is as dangerous as a human for her.He didn’t want any harm toe to her.


    "Dominic! Dominic, calm down.I am fine, absolutely alright.I am not hurt at all.Calm down, take a


    breath."


    Athena said with a beautiful yet small smile, a warm feeling spreading all over her chest, seeing him act


    like that for them.


    He stopped talking and looked at her with a sorrowful frown before letting out a sigh and before she


    could understand what was happening, he pulled her close and hugged her again.


    She was shocked for a second before hugging him back.


    Their son was being sandwiched between them.


    "You scared me for a second."


    He whispered in a small tone while caressing her hair slowly and giving a small and secret kiss on her


    hair.


    But it wasn’t a secret as she felt it very clearly.


    She took a deep breath in as her legs almost felt like jelly at that moment "I am so sorry for scaring


    you.We are really okay.Please don’t worry."


    She said in a whispering tone as well before pulling away from the hug to look him in the eyes.

    He looked away from her and looked at Ace who was very happy after getting so many hugs from her

    "Are you okay?" He asked while touching Ace’s face caringly.


    Ace nodded his head at him enthusiastically with a big smile.


    "Yes, we are okay! You saved us again, superhero!"


    Ace eximed in excitement before jumping away from Athena’s arms to Dominic’s, "Careful!"


    Athena said while tightening her hold against the super energetic Ace so that he doesn’t fall down.She


    slowly passed him to Dominic who held him immediately.


    "Slowly, champ! Mom’s hard work will fall down." Dominic said with widened eyes while holding Ace


    carefully.


    That’s when Athena noticed that Dominic was holding the food container with the other hand.


    Her eyes widened in shock and disbelief.She couldn’t believe that he didn’t let the food fall as well


    because it was her hard work.


    That’s when she realised something and her eyes widened some more.


    "Oh my goodness, Dominic! It’s hot!"


    She eximed in shock before quickly taking the container from his hand and put it down on the dining


    table before looking back at him.


    "I am fine.I have been through worse pain than these." He said while not looking at her.


    She frowned but didn’t say anything about that.


    "Thank you for saving us."


    Athena mumbled under her breath which he heard because of his werewolf power.


    But just like her, he chose to ignore that as well and that’s when he remembered something.


    A frown came up on his face and he looked at Athena.


    "How did this happen, Athena? Couldn’t you be a little more careful? Why did you have to carry Ace


    and the food at the same time? What would have happened if I hadn’te here at the right time? Not


    only would you have hurt yourself and Ace badly, you would have burned yourself as well."


    He scowled at her, ready for a fight.He knew it wasn’t possible for Ace to get hurt when Athena was


    with him.He knew that Ace was his life.He knew that she could give and take life for Ace.He had


    already witnessed it in the shadow eclipse pack when he went there to rescue them.


    It wasn’t a small thing for someone toe in front of an angry and merciless wolf just like that.


    It takes a lot of courage no matter for whom you are doing so But he still couldn’t stop the fatherly


    instinct inside him from kicking off and say a few things to her


    "I can die for Ace, Dominic.You should know that by now.The same would have happened here.I would


    have done everything to cover Ace from the pain and I would have taken all the pain by myself


    happily.That’s what would have happened." She said in a low tone, feeling sad that he was ming


    her.


    She could see that he wasn’t actually meaning any of the things he was saying negatively but because


    he was worried for them.


    But before he or she could say something else, Ace spoke up, shocking both of them.


    "Mom tripped because she remembered my papa!"
