Chapter 49: Athena is a monster?
“Shh! Shh! Calm down, calm down. Everything is okay. Everything is alright. Calm down.” Dominic
whispered in a soothing tone as he pulled back from the kiss and pressed her head on his chest.
She was slowly calming down with the rhythm of his heartbeat. But she was still breathing hard but she
was back from the previous state which almost took Stacey’s life.
Her eyes widened as soon as she realised what was happening and she jerked away from him. She
looked around in confusion and a small panic settled inside her. But before it could consume her
completely, he clutched her shoulders again and made her look at him. He had a serious look on his
face as he looked down at her intensely.
“Wh… what just happened? Wh… what’s going on?” She asked in shock and confusion. She could still
feel the previous changes in her body and it was scary for her.
“Nothing. Everything is fine. Don’t worry. Calm down.” Dominic said in an assuring tone but she wasn’t
having it. She frowned at him deeply and struggled toe out of his hold in anger. She was angry
because he wasn’t believing her.
“L…let me tell y…you what was happening…” Stacey who was grasping for breath till now spoke up
while coughing. Athena and Dominic looked at her as she slowly got up from the ground while ring
at Athena.
“Stacey, leave now. We will talkter.” Dominic ordered in a cold tone but Stacey was too pissed off to..
pay heed to that.
“No! Dominic, she is a monster. Did you see? She was trying to kill me. She is aplete monster. If
you hadn’te at the right time, she would have killed me. She is really dangerous for everyone,
even for her son! Oh my goddess!” Stacey eximed while breathing hard, as if she was experiencing
that again. Athena looked at her in shock after hearing her.
“What are you talking about? Monster? Dangerous? I can never be dangerous to my son! He is my
life.” Athena shouted, suddenly feeling really scared, confused and messed up. Dominic red at
Stacey in annoyance and frustration.
“And you are going to be the one to take his life. You lost your wolf and got a monster instead and you
don’t have any control over it. God knows when you will lose control in front of your son and kill him.
Monster!” Stacey shouted, shocking Athena beyond limit. She couldn’t understand what was happening
but at that moment, surprisingly, Stacey’s words were making a lot of sense.
“Do… Dominic? What’s she saying? Am I a monster? Tell me. Am l a monster? Dominic! I am a
monster! I… I will ki…kill Ace!” Athena shouted as she started to shake in panic.
“No, no! Athena! Listen to me! Don’t listen to her. You are not a monster. Nothing is going to happen to
you or Ace. I am here. I will not let anything happen to you both. Don’t listen to her. Listen to me.
Okay?” Dominic made her look at him in the eyes as he spoke to her with utmost seriousness.
“Dominic, tell me something truthfully.” She demanded with teary eyes as he looked at him helplessly.
Dominic clenched his jaw seeing the look on her face. She looked so vulnerable at that moment that he
felt like hugging her tightly and always kept her in his safe embrace.
“Tell me, what is it?” Dominic asked instantly with a nod. He was a little desperate to soothe whatever
pain she was in. He could understand where she wasing from. The shock and panic was must
after what happened.
“Did you see how I was when you came here? You saw how I was acting like a monster, right? How
was t that moment?” Athena asked with teary eyes as she felt like curling into a ball whenever she
remembers that Dominic took a deep breath and gritted his teeth after hearing the question. Yes, he
was what was happening. He saw everything. From the beginning.
He saw how she went into a daze and her eyes turned silver. He saw how an aura raised around her
and captured her into it. He saw how she lookedpletely different and dangerous at that moment
when she gripped Stacey’s neck with her sudden long nails. He was astonished when he saw how
powerful she got to raise Stacey from the ground using one hand.
She looked magnificent at that moment. He would never forget that scene ever. He was almost lost in
that until he realised that she was actually going to kill Stacey if he didn’t intervene at that moment. He
didn’t know how to calm her down or break her free from that daze other than using their mate bond.
That’s why he kissed her and it actually worked.
“What are you asking him? Ask me! I will tell you! You looked like an absolute monster with your long
nails and dangerous canines. You had a dark shadow and smokey figure around you. And you were all
set to kill me. Do you understand now? No normal person could be like that, unless it’s a monster. Take
my advice and stay away from Dominic and Ace. I am afraid that you will change into a monster again
and the next morning we will find Ace’s little body beside you.” Stacey shouted in a rude tone and the
only reason she was having this audacity is because Dominic was there. Otherwise she wouldn’t have
dared to mess with Athena again.
“I…… no… no… I am a monster….” Athena heard her and whispered while looking down. She started
to take slow steps back and before Dominic could stop her, she already ran away from there.
“Athena! Wait! Stop!” He shouted behind her and was going to run behind her when Stacey stopped
her by holding his hand.

“Dominic, don’t leave me. I am scared. Did you see that she was going to kill me?” Stacey said in a
fake scared tone which he caught in a moment and red at her.
“Stacey! I don’t want you to say another word! Did you hear me? Get the fuck out of this ce right
now.” Dominic atst used his alpha tone and growled at her. She immediately dropped to the floor,
submitting i n front of him.
“I am sorry, alpha.” She quickly apologized before running away as soon as possible, without looking
back.
He let out a groan as soon as she left. Things were getting messier day by day. But right now he had to
find his mate. With that thought he closed his eyes and immediately got the scent of red rosesing
into his nostrils, soothing his nerves.
And he knew exactly where she was.
