Chapter 47: Angry Suzanne


    “Suzy, you came?” Athena asked with a smile when she found Suzanne standing by the door.


    Suzanne didn’t smile back which told her that she was very angry at her. She gulped nervously


    because an angry Suzanne is always bad news.


    “Why? You don''t want me to?” Suzanne snapped without any emotions on her face which made Athena


    more nervous


    That’s the bad news she was afraid of. Suzanne can get really snarky and sarcastic when she is angry.


    Athena gave her a puppy look along with a nervous smile.


    “Ohe on, Suzy! Don’t be like this. Come in.” She invited her in while trying to act like everything


    was okay but Suzanne’s next snarkye back made her sad again.


    “Oh trust me, I don’t need your permission.” Suzanne snapped while looking at her with narrowed eyes


    before walking toward them, toward the bed. Then she took a seat in front of Suzanne while still ring


    at her.


    “Good then. Tell me, how are you?” Athena asked with a smile, trying to avoid looking at her re and


    trying to postpone it as much as she can.

    “Suzanne asked Ace in a yful tone while smiling at him.


    She can never get angry at her munchkin. She loves him a lot and every time she looks at him, she


    feels happiness filling her heart.


    “You put me to sleep.” Ace answered with a toothy grin, not thinking much about what he said earlier.


    “Oh, it’s nothing. He was telling me how you always put him to sleep whenever I am hurt.” Athena said


    casually with a smile but that wasn’t the same expression on Suzanne’s face.


    She went silent and her expression fell as she looked at Ace with a different kind of look. But soon she


    changed the expression to casualty before looking at Athena


    “O…oh…that? Actually you know how he gets worried whenever that happens. I don’t want him to fall


    sick by crying a lot. Also, you would be worried as well. So, I put him to sleep.” She exined with a


    smile as she gave a loving look to Ace who was busy ying with Athena’s beautiful hair.


    “Thank you so much, Suzy. It’s just he was asking me if I was hurt. That’s what we were talking about.”


    Athena said while caressing his head and looked at Suzanne. She immediately looked away when she


    saw the look on Suzanne’s face. It was ‘dangerous’.


    *Oh, about that… Ace baby, your uncle Nathan and uncle Justin are looking for you. Don’t you want to


    y with them?” Suzanne asked him with a sweet smile and he was immediately brought back from

    “I do!” He eximed in happiness and immediately jumped down from Athena’sp, ready to run away.


    “Great! They are waiting for you outside. Go find them,” Suzanne said in a tone which matched his


    excitement whileughing at his cuteness.


    “Okay! I am going right away!” He shouted before starting to run out of the room already. They both


    laughed at his cuteness,


    “Don’t run! Be careful!” Athena warned behind him, knowing very well that it was really fruitless.

    “Love you too.” She shouted back as she let out another smallugh.


    As soon as he left, the room fell into a deep silence. Both of them were waiting for the other person to


    break the silence. But Athena was sure she was not going to break it and Suzanne let out a frustrated


    understanding that.


    “So, what should I call you?” Suzanne asked in a nk tone, confusing Athena. She has never used


    that tone on her.


    “What do you mean?” She asked in confusion.


    “I mean, should I call you Athy, as in my best friend or should I address you as Luna and bow in front of


    you?” She asked in a sarcastic tone, making Athena feel really guilty.


    “Suzanne, please don’t be like this. At least give me a chance to exin.” She requested and Suzanne


    looked at her with gritted teeth but kept her calm.


    “One chance. You got only one chance. So, start exining.” Suzanne said in a nk tone and Athena


    instantly nodded at her in appreciation.


    “Actually there is nothing much to exin. He rejected me years ago. And now I am nothing but his


    rejected mate. That’s it. We don’t share anything else other than that.” Athena said with a sigh.


    “I am confused, Athena. Why did he reject you? And why do you feel the mate bond if he rejected


    you?” She asked in confusion.


    “Because I am yet to ept the rejection.” Athena answered, suddenly getting gloomy.


    “And what do you n to do about that?” She asked carefully, trying to read her expression.


    “I don’t know. But I will surely do what’s the best for everyone.” Athena replied as she went into deep


    thoughts.


    “Then I hope you actually know what’s best for everyone. I won’t force you to tell me what you have in


    mind but don’t do anything impulsive.” She warned and Athena nodded at her.


    “Trust me, I do.” She said with a small smile and Suzanne just simply nodded at her.


    “But that still leaves us with another question.”


    A new voice spoke up in between them, making them jump before looking at the door where Patricia


    stood with a nk look on her face.


    “Patricia.” Athena and Suzanne spoke up at the same time as they acknowledged her presence.


    “Yes, me, whom youpletely forgot while sharing secrets!” Patricia said with a pout while inviting


    herself into the room. Athena and Suzanne shared a smile before looking back at her with the same


    smile. They made a ce for Patricia to sit.


    “Aww, babe, don’t be sad because we know you already heard everything from the door.” Suzanne


    teased and they allughed out loud.


    “Yeah, I did. Sorry about that.” Patricia apologised sheepishly, making themugh.


    “Oh, don’t be. We were going to share everything with you anyway and it’s not like you are something


    dangerous for us. You are our best friend!” Athena eximed as the three shared a hug. They pulled


    away from the hug and looked at each other, suddenly getting serious.


    “Now, about the question I was talking about.” Patricia spoke up.


    “What is it?” Athena asked with a small frown.


    “Who is Ace’s father?”


    And at that moment, Athena wasn’t sure if she was prepared for it or not. Guess she can never be


    prepared for that question.
