Chapter 12: Part One Pedition


    The three of us walk towards the bar.


    "Sam, who is that at the bar? Is it Bowen? That looks like Bowen!” I ask.


    I don''t give Sam time to answer I run for the bar. I run straight to Bowen. It is Bowen. I hope he


    is here to help. He turns around and looks straight at me. He smiles but it''s a sad smile.


    He reaches for me, but at this very moment, I''m not sure what to do. I have no idea whose side


    he''s on. “Why are you here Bowen?" I ask him. "Are you here for me or are you here for my brother?"


    Bowen looks at us. “I’m not here for you. I''m here for Cami Dawn. She summoned me.”


    I’m very confused. I don''t understand "what do you mean? How did she summon you?”  I ask.


    ”Quite simple, her protection spell, she bound it to me.“ He answers.


    It seems odd to me Bowen is here now. Why hasn''t hee sooner? Surely they''re looking for


    me in the underworld. Maybe they expect me to take care of Damnation. Who knows? Cami must be


    powerful if she was able to summon him. I wonder if there''s something else she''s not telling me. I


    wonder where she is. Something is not right!


    "Mayhem, can you pleasee with me for a second?" I say as I take him by the hand and


    lead him away.


    I lead him silently out of the bar. "What is it," he asks me.


    "Not yet let''s walk a little farther," I tell him as I keep leading him down the street. I''m not sure


    how far I should go. I just hold his hand and keep walking.


    "Don''t you find it odd I''ve been on the topside for 5 days this is the first day someone has


    shown up from the underworld?"  I ask him.


    As the wordse out of my mouth I can tell he''s thinking the same thing.  “Bowen raised


    Daniel and loved him like a son. There is no way he is here to harm him. If Cami was able to


    summon him if she is that strong then where is she and why did she do it? This does not make any


    sense."  I say to him.


    Mayhem is listening to me but not responding. Am I missing something? Whose side are they


    on? Can I trust him?


    “Perdition you have nothing to fear. We are all here to help you. We all want the same thing.


    We need to go ask Bowen if he can help us find Cami." Mayhem says.


    He takes my hand to lead me back to the bar. I pull away from him. "I''m not sure if I can trust


    you. There''s too much happening." I say to him.


    Mayhem looks in my eyes he shakes his head he takes a deep breath and says to me "I would


    never harm the woman I vowed to spend my life with."


    Wait what, what did he just say to me?


    “What do you mean I just met you? I''ve known you for five days. You keep saying we knew


    each other in the void. You do not exin that. And now you''re saying you vowed to spend your life


    with me? Exin yourself.” I scream at him.


    I don''t give him time I start walking towards the bar I leave him standing in the street. I need


    answers. I''m tired of everyone babying me. I need to know what''s going on. I know Bowen and Sam


    can give them to me. I walk into the bar I look at Sam


    "If I drink the tea will I remember everything? Will I remember the void? Will I rememberst


    night? Will I know everything that all of you are hiding?" I ask Sam.


    Sam looks at me stunned by my questions. Mayhemes to the door Sam looks at him he


    looks at me and answers


    "I can make you something that will make you remember everything so yes I can do that for


    you. Are you sure that''s what you want?" Sam asks.


    Bowen tries to step in. "Things may not be as you remember," Bowen says.


    I walk away while they''re both still speaking to me, I''m done. I came here for a reason and


    everyone keeps trying to stop me. My only goal is my brother I can''t worry about these people


    anymore. I sit down and wait.


    Sam goes to work. I can see him behind the bar chopping this, mixing that, and saying words


    as he goes. Bowen and Mayhem both look frustrated as Sam works. They are upset. For once in my


    entire life, I''m going to do what''s best for me. I have to admit I am worried about Cami and I''m

    curious what this vow is Mayhem made to me. The truth is I need to know everything.


    Sam walks over with a small cup. He sits down across from me. "Listen to me very careful


    Perdition. Once you drink this, there is no going back. Do you understand?" He says as he pushes the


    cup to me.


    I can tell he hopes I don''t drink it. I take a second to look around the room. I look in Bowen''s


    eyes, the demon that raised me and my brother, my father figure, I see fear. I look at Mayhem and I see


    fear. I look back to Sam and I see terror. What are they afraid will happen if I remember the void? I take


    the cup in my hand I lift it to my mouth and I drink it all. The bar is silent.


    I take a long look at each of them again they all have the same look on their face. I''m not sure


    what they think is going to happen. I sit here and wait. I''m waiting for my memories.


    "Sam. I don''t think it’s working." I tell him. Sam reaches for my hand.


    "Perdition it will work. The memories are all going toe back at once. Be ready." He


    reassures me.


    I don''t believe him. I think they''ve lied to me. I''ve had enough of this. I''m leaving. I get up and


    make my way to the door. As I touch the door to leave the bar I start to see shes. My childhood my


    mother my father my brother the void mayhem twins escape Cami. Everything ising so fast.


    I need to focus on Cami and where she is. I can see the room. I see her making the box and


    cing it under her bed. I see her telling me to stay still to be quiet. I hear them. I hear people. I hear


    peopleing for me. I hear Cami telling me she will protect me. She tells me don''t go to the farm.


    You can''t trust them.


    Over and over she says you can''t trust them. Bowen knows the truth. Don''t look for me. She


    looks in my eyes before she goes out the door and says take care of your children. Find a way to


    forgive Mayhem for taking the children and leaving the void.


    He had no choice. He had to protect them. Bowen wouldn''t let him take you when he let him


    out of the void. Venus wants those twins. It would have been too easy for her to pull them out of the


    void. They had to be hidden. He loves you.


    There are so many shesing at me. The void. It''s hard to see everything happening there.


    "Mayhem we have to get her to safety. She is going to be very agitated as she


    remembers. It''s not safe for anyone. She will be fine when shees back to us.”  I hear Sam''s voice


    telling Mayhem I''m okay. I’m not sure I''m okay. I can feel them moving me. I just need to focus unlock


    my memories.
