He was gone. He escaped through a small opening between the underworld and the topside. Bowen and Labith have been the caretakers of Daniel and Izzy since they were relocated to the underworld by their father. They were in hiding from Gabriel. The underworld was the only ce Gabriel could note. Bowen¡¯s greatest fear was that Gabriel would find Daniel and force him into the garden. Bowen knew he had to find him quickly. Bowen and Labith could only be out of the underworld for a short period of time before the underworld would start calling to them. KoKo was left behind to locate Izzy. She was nowhere to be found. Lucifer put him in charge of finding his only daughter. He could not lose her. Not now. He needed her with him in the underworld. KoKo franticly searched every inch of the underworld. He could hear her but there was no locating her. He feared she was in the void. A ce where there is no escape. No one understood how Daniel managed to escape. They had a good idea of why. His mother Venus was calling to him. His dead mother was reaching out for his help. She sent someone to collect her children and bring them to the garden. A week before a priest had been marked and sent to hell. It caused quite a stir among inhabitants of the golden city and the underworld. He was widely known. He had done much humanitarian work. He was a good man. Bowen was extremely confused as to why this man hadnded in the underworld. People are marked for the golden city, the underworld, or back to topside. Not everyone is given the same punishment. Most people relive their worst fears or their greatest defeats over and over for eternity. They drop some into dark silence. They mark a select few for Bowen. Bowen was wrath. Bowen would make you pay for your earthly life. In recent years, Bowen had trained Daniel as his apprentice. Daniel wanted to make his father proud, and this was his chance to do it. Daniel and Izzy were celestial beings, not demons. They were the children of Lucifer and Venus, two souls very much in love that only wanted to have their twins and raise them in the golden city. Gabriel had other ns for the twins. The garden needed two watchers, and that was exactly what their life would be. A life of service to the garden. A life of no free will. It enraged Venus when Gabriel told her that her children would be taken and ced in the garden. ¡°My children will never be a part of your ns, Gabriel¡± She grabbed her children from him. The mighty angel raised his wings at her and illuminated a powerful light. His voice echoed ¡°Your children are not yours. They belong to us. They will serve Venus or else.¡± Venus began to glow; she is the morning star, and she is bright. She blinded Gabriel and took flight with her newborns. She screamed for her husband.¡± Lucifer! The twins!¡± Venus dropped them right into his arms. Venus and Gabriel began to battle. Lucifer fled with the twins. Bowen and Labith fled with him to earth. The angels there will help you.¡° Lucifer took flight with Bowen at his side. ¡°Bowen grabs Venus I will handle Gabriel¡± Bowen acknowledged his orders and took off. He was aiming for Venus. Gabriel sealed heaven. No one in nor out. Neither Lucifer nor Bowen could get in. ¡°Give us the twins, Lucifer¡± Gabriel was so calm. He held Venus up high over the heavens.¡± Give us the twins Lucifer. It would be a shame for her to fall to earth.¡± Lucifer had no way to get to her. Bowen tried every portal. Nothing. No way in. The only way out was to fall. Gabriel held the morning star above him. He had her in his left hand and a ck ming sword in the other. With one mighty cut, he clipped her wings. ¡°No, Gabriel, what have you done?¡± Lucifer screamed. Gabriel tossed Venus from heaven. She fell to earth. ¡°Bowen, take the twins to the underworld. Get them away from here. Tell the gatekeeper they are my children. Tell them I¡¯ming home. I have to find Venus. Go!¡± Bowen flew to Labith as fast as his wings would take him. Labith was hiding with them among the trees. He grabbed Daniel, and she grabbed Izzy. They found ake to travel to the underworld. ¡°Labith listen to me. The babies are not going to know how to make this journey. Cover her with your wings and go as fast as you can. If you get there before I tell the gatekeeper, Lucifer ising and these are his children.¡± She nodded. She flew high above theke, waiting for a portal to open. A sh of red came from the water. She aimed, wrapped Izzy in her left-wing, and dropped into theke. A journey into the underworld was not a simple drop and you are there. Knowing how to maneuver the levels of hell without getting stuck is tricky. The watchers have to be avoided. The watchers were on each level. They serve the underworld. They have nopassion. Labith held tight to Izzy using one wing to carefully shift through the levels and the other to shield Izzy. Labith was a mighty one. She was never a full Angel. She had apprenticed under Uriel for many centuries. She was a great weapon maker. Her hand-formed many celestial weapons. She was still a fairly new Angel, but her speed and marksmanship were unmatched. She fought in many battles under Uriel and Gabriel. Uriel cared deeply for her. He trained her as if she was his child. Labith continued quickly through the levels of hell. She kept pushing herself. She needed to reach the gatekeeper with Izzy. Bowen waited for the portal to open. He was so focused on the opening he didn¡¯t notice Lucifer and Gabrieling quickly behind him. Lightning began to strike right over theke. Lucifer and Gabriel were fighting as they flew toward theke. Gabriel would strike over and over with his ming ck sword. He wanted to remove Lucifer¡¯s wings and bind him to earth. The thunder and lightning made it hard for Bowen to focus on the portal. Theke was shaking. Trees were falling into theke. ¡°Bowen,¡± Lucifer screamed. ¡°Get him to the underworld.¡± The portal was not open yet. There was nothing Bowen could do. ¡°The portal is not open Lucifer¡± Bowen aimed for theke. He was ready. Gabriel aimed for Lucifer¡¯s wings. ¡°You will fall Lucifer,¡± he bellowed at him. He lowered his sword into Lucifer¡¯s wings. It became bright. A bright red star shone on the left side of theke. It was Venus. She blinded Gabriel. The portal opened. Bowen flew into theke. Lucifer flew toward theke following the bright light. ¡°Go my love and care for them. I¡¯ll be fine.¡± When Venus spoke, it sounded like an echo. It was not her heavenly voice. Lucifer hesitated. He loved Venus, but the twins needed to be hidden. He slowly descended into the portal leaving her behind. She could not follow without her wings. Lucifer descended quickly. Bowen and Daniel just ahead of him. The levels were bright. The watchers were now curious about all the excitement going on topside. They began to leave their post to see what themotion was. Labithnded in the underworld. Koko the gatekeeper was standing guard. He was not happy about someonending in the underworld unannounced. ¡°Why are you here Labith?¡± he grumbled at her. She released her wing and revealed Izzy. ¡°I have Lucifer¡¯s child with me, Izzy. She is the daughter of Venus and Lucifer. There has been a great battle. The children need sanctuary.¡± Labith began to cry. She was afraid. She was not afraid of the gatekeeper. She was afraid of what would happen next. ¡°Where is Daniel? Venus? Lucifer?¡± ¡°What has happened?¡° The gatekeeper¡¯s attitude changed. He knew something terrible was happening. Bowennded with Daniel wrapped in his wing. Lucifer was immediately behind him. ¡°The prophecy has begun.¡± The gatekeeper spoke quietly. Koko opened the gate. ¡°Amaros will settle you in. Do not worry they are safe here. We will send someone up to retrieve Venus. Once you go inside, you cannot leave again.¡± They all acknowledged their fate once they entered the underworld. It was the only way to save the children. The twins had to live. Koko gathered a few quietly to go topside to look for Venus. Leaving the underworld through the portal was always a risk. Hell came with those who lived there. IT was inside you forever. It never leaves. It was a binding spell set to keep the dark ones in. Only one way in and no way out. If a resident of Hell left, they had 24 hours to return before they would go mad. A human would not make it to the top without going crazy. There was no escape. A demon could leave for a short period. However, they were always spellbound to hell and could be recalled at any time or expelled straight back. KoKo, Azazel, Baragel, and Luce entered the portal. The portal is always open from the hell side. There was no need to close it. No one could get far. They went up the tunnel quickly and came out on the other side of theke. As they came up, they released their wings. They had much smaller wings now. They were not as glorious as they once were when they resided in heaven. That was a long time ago before there was a need for hell. When there became a need for hell, there had to be a gatekeeper. Koko was the best angel for the job. When they reached the surface, they split up. The sky was dark. The clouds were red. There was a storm brewing. They have to act fast. ¡°When you find her get to theke and sound your horn as you enter the portal. Do not alert Gabriel we found her¡± Koko instructed. They each set out looking for her. Chapter 8: Part One Pedition Chapter 8: Part One Pedition Chapter eight Day three I am still at the farm. I do not want to leave. Why can I not just stay here? I know I cannot stay here. There is so much to be done and as quickly as possible. I feel so connected here. This ce feels like home. ¡°This is your home Perdition.¡± I hear a voice speaking to me but I am not sure who it is. I am losing my mind. The void was hard on me. My mind keeps going back to it. I have spent my life not belonging anywhere. I do not belong in the underworld, I do not belong in the void, and I do not belong here. I feel lost. I am hurting. I want to talk to my father. I have so many questions for him. I want him to know I am okay and that I love him. I want him to know I understand why he killed Koko. I may not agree but I understand. Celestials deal with their problems so differently than normal people. I wonder if he is capable of forgiving me for leaving. I hope he understands I had no choice but to flee that hell. I will return to him someday but first I need to find my brother and my mother. I wish my father could help me. Get it together and get out of your head P. Mayhem ising. I step up into big orange. ¡°Are we going to die today Mayhem?¡± I ask. ¡°Not today mydy. We are going to collect my brother and maybe yours.¡± He says. He smiles at me. That smile is amazing. He cranks the truck. He started driving down the dirt road. ¡°Do not be afraid, Perdition. I will protect you with my life. You will survive this.¡± He says. ¡°I am not afraid Mayhem.¡± I turn to him. ¡°Mayhem I know you will protect me but it is not necessary,¡± I tell him. I do not want him to get hurt. I know we are connected. I want to know more about him. We ride silently for hours. Iy my head against the window. My eyes are so heavy. I need a nap. My mind is scrambling with images of the void, my brother, my father, KoKo, and a voice I do not know. I feel a deep connection with him. It is more than the connection I feel to the other descendants. I have felt something with all the descendants but with Mayhem it is different. Mayhem is singing along as he drives. I love music on the topside. One of my favorite things so far is the music. ¡°Perdition, are you awake?¡± he asks me as he breaks from his singing. ¡°Yes, I am. Where are we?¡± I ask as I raise my head and look at the road. ¡°We are on HWY 64. We are almost there. We are picking up Sunnie first.¡± He continues to sing Rooster. ¡°Who is Sunnie?¡± I ask. I am so puzzled right now. I have met so many people and now one more. ¡°You''ll love her,¡± he tells me. I guess he can see my stress. Three days on the topside and everything in my life is crazy! I know everything will be okay. I trust Mayhem. He is slowing down I guess we are getting close. I see a sign for a road. Lagrange Holler. Seriously who names these ces? Mayhem turns down the dirt roadbeled Lagrange Holler and slows down. He is taking it easy as he travels down the gravel road. ¡°She wille out and get in the truck with us. Be calm. Move over closer to me.¡± He tells me as he moves some things from the center of his truck. The house is an old farmhouse nothing special I guess from my limited experience. As we pull up to park, I see a young womaning out to meet us. She runs jumps in the truck. She only says ¡°let¡¯s go!¡± And we are off. No introductions, Nothing. We just go. We ride in silence for a while. I am not afraid. Sunnie is not very pretty. She is in. She is almost expressionless. Her hair is short, t, and bobbed. She looks like she has had a rough life. I am so close to Mayhem. I can hear his feelings. I know he is anxious. He is afraid. He does not want me to know he is afraid but I can feel it. Sunnie sits silently. She is not afraid. I can feel her determination. She turns to me and smiles ¡°Perdition, my family is also descendants. I know you are curious. I am engaged to Ryan. He is an unholy one but I guess you already know that. We are here to stop Venus. You already know that. We are not sure what your brother is doing but we have heard rumors. He is standing at the end of the truck sobbing. ¡°I am sorry Perdition. I have a bad habit of speaking when I should not.¡± She grabbed the door handle and got out to talk to Mayhem. I can see them standing at the end of the truck. He is heartbroken and I have no idea why. I wish I could remember more of the void. It is just shes of time. I know he was there at some point. I feel a deep connection with him. I can still hear them arguing. Sunnie keeps saying tell her tell her. I swear I am so tired of everyone acting like I am a child. I am older than all of them. I was 2000 years old when I went into the void. I am not sure how long it was. ¡°No No No Sunnie do not do it. She is fragile?¡± I hear Mayhem yell. I get out of the truck and meet Sunnie eye to eye. ¡°Tell me now!¡± I scream at her. ¡°It was 900 years. You were there for 900 years.¡± She tells me. I am not going to acknowledge either of them as they look at me like I am a fragile little girl. I just get back in the truck and sit quietly. It¡¯s not important. It changes nothing. ¡°Perdition there is more,¡± Sunnie says as she reaches for me. ¡°Let¡¯s go¡± I respond. I don¡¯t think I want to hear any more right now. ¡°I am not fragile! I am a celestial and the two of you need to remember that!¡± I tell them. I close my eyes. I am done with everyone babying me. It is time to do this. ¡°Perdition you need to know one more thing. It is important. You and Mayhem.¡± She stops. ¡°Tell her before we go any further Mayhem! Tell her the truth!¡± I look at both of them ¡°I said let¡¯s go!¡± I scream. ¡°Perdition you have.¡± She starts. I stop her again. ¡°I said let¡¯s go. I want to find my brother and my mother. I will get the answers I need there. Let¡¯s go!¡± We continue to drive down a long dark highway. They are both silent. I feel so angry right now. I hear my voice. I hear children screaming. Chapter 9: Part One Pedition Chapter 9: Part One Pedition Chapter nine ¡°There are no children in the void,¡± I say as I open my eyes. Mayhem ces his hand on mine. ¡°There were two, a set of twins. They were with you there. You cared for them.¡± He says, I feel like I am losing my mind. I feel like I am falling. What else are they going to tell me? ¡°Maybe we should stop and tell you before we get there?¡± Mayhem says to me. ¡°No, let¡¯s just get Ryan and go from there. Okay.¡± I respond. ¡°It¡¯s the next road up here on the left Mayhem. Turn off your lights. I am not sure if he is alone or if Damnation is with him. We think Damnation is in the garden. I am not sure. Let¡¯s just be careful.¡± Sunnie says. ¡°I thought Damnation had him,¡± I ask. ¡°His followers took him. He got word to me where he was. I contacted Mayhem to help me get him back. I know this was my mother¡¯s I would''ve never given this up, even when I was forced to take it off, the day I was trapped, the day it started burning my skin. I am cold. ¡°Mayhem the twins must be here. She can feel them.¡± I hear Sunnie tell Mayhem. Her voice is fading out as two voices start to echo in my head. Help us help us. I can hear two children screaming for my help. ¡°This was a mistake. I wish I¡¯d left her at the farm.¡± I hear Mayhem speaking to Sunnie. Their voices keep fading out. I only hear a few words. The twins, Why are they here? How did they escape? ¡°Perdition the twins didn¡¯t escape. They were taken out of the void by Mayhem. He left before you. He took them with him to keep them safe from Damnation.¡± Sunnie says as she kneels in front of me. ¡°Listen to me those twins belong to Mayhem. They are his children. They are very powerful descendants. Labith was nning to kill them. If Damnation gets them he can use them to open both doors to the garden.¡± Sunnie says. ¡°If they are so important why would they be here with Ryan?¡± I ask. This all seems wrong. I know Labith would never harm a child that is a lie. ¡°Sunnie, how did you know where Ryan was?¡± I ask her. She does not answer me. ¡°Mayhem?¡± I whisper. I turn to him and he is gone. Sunnie smiles at me. ¡°We know you cannot live Perdition. Venus will rise.¡± She screams at me. I try to run but I cannot move. The bracelet she gave me has stopped me. Sunnie is standing over me. ¡°You Bitch.¡± I scream at her. ¡°You are with them. Go ahead and kill me. Send me back to the underworld. I wille back for you.¡± I scream at her. I want Damnation to see you suffer.¡± She grabs me and starts dragging me but I cannot see anything except a bright light. The voices are getting louder. I hear them saying fight her. You are stronger than her. ¡°I don¡¯t know how to fight her!¡± I scream. Sunnie stops. The light is getting brighter. The bracelet must be messing with my eyesight and my hearing. I am hearing Mayhem and the tiny voices. The night is bing so bright. A sudden burst knocks Sunnie to the ground. The bracelet breaks into three pieces. I pick it up and put it in my pocket. I see Mayhem running with two children. My body starts to glow as they near me. Mayhem hands me one of the twins. ¡°Run to the truck. We have to get out of here.¡± He says. He picks up the other twin and runs. We run through the woods, trees, bushes. I don¡¯t remember all this being here before. ¡°Just keep going. We are almost there¡± he says. ¡°Follow the light.¡± I am running with everything I have inside me. This tiny child is wrapped around me. She feels so familiar. I don¡¯t remember being her caregiver. I see the truck. I have to keep going. ¡°We have almost made it little one,¡± I whisper. She holds me tighter to reassure me. As I approach the truck I can hear Mayhem behind me. Another tiny voiceing from behind me is telling me I will be okay. These twins are so concerned with me being okay. I feel like we should be the ones reassuring them. We climb in. Mayhem starts the truck. ¡°Grab them and get as far down as you can. Protect them.¡± He says. He starts pushing us into the floor as he drives away. ¡±Little ones do not use any power. Do not even think. Go silent.¡± He demanded. The three of us curl up on the floor. We are silent. I can feel every bump in the road. I try to keep my eyes closed. Both of the twins are so close to me. I cannot hear anything from them. ¡°Mayhem, can I move?¡± I ask him. He nods that it is ok. I slowly move from the twins. I sit up and look at him. He is worried. I dare not ask if he is ok. I reach for him. ¡°Don¡¯t try to listen to me. I am afraid the demons will hear us. I am not sure if we were followed. I am unsure if we should go back to the farm. I think we should go to the pub. Are you ok with that?¡± he asks. ¡°I trust you. If that is what you think we need to do then let¡¯s go to the pub?¡± I reassure him. ¡°Perdition, What did you do with the bracelet?¡± he asks. I reach in my pocket and get the three pieces. ¡°I have them.¡± He smiles. ¡°Good. We got ammo against Venus.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t understand how this bracelet can hurt Venus. Mayhem what does this bracelet do.¡± I ask. I ce my hand on him looking for answers. He smiles at me. ¡°Think about it. Look what it did to you? It immobilizes celestials. If we can get it on her or Damnation we can take them down.¡± ¡°But Mayhem it broke into three pieces. How can we use it now?¡± I ask him. He reaches for me. ¡°No worries we can use it as ammo. I promise you. We will take her down.¡± He reassures me I close my eyes and go to sleep. I can hear him singing as I drift in and out. I am so confused here. Three days on the topside and everything is turned upside down. I have no idea what I am doing or what is going on. All I know is that Mayhem makes everything better. He is everything to me and the twins. I do not understand everything right now but I will. I know in the end I will survive all this. No matter what Damnation tries to do I will survive this. I am not human but I feel so much for this amazing man. I am not sure that I should be having these feelings for him. I have only known him a few days that I can remember. I guess in reality I have known him for over 900 years. I do not remember those years. I guess it¡¯s better I can¡¯t. When we get back I want answers. Why do I feel so close to these twins? Why does he feel like safety and home? I don¡¯t mean my home in the underworld. I mean he feels like my reality. He feels like everything. I need to sleep. I have a feeling it¡¯s going to be a long night. Now that we have the twins I am sure Damnation and Venus will be on fire to get to me. I will be ready for them. I will protect these tiny beings with everything in me. My biggest worry now is that my brother has been here for so long with my mother. He has been here on the topside. He has adapted. He knows his way around, and look at me I am just three days into my journey. I have many amazing people to help me limate to this new world, but he is evil. Can I be as evil as him? Can I be the person I was born to be? One of the twins makes a noise at my feet. She looks up with her beautiful gray eyes ¡°Perdition you have a purpose.¡± She says. That is all I needed to hear. Chapter 10: Part One Pedition Chapter 10: Part One Pedition Day Four We arrive at the bar just after midnight. Day four on topside I guess, let¡¯s see what today holds. I help Mayhem with the twins. JJ and Cami Dawn meet us at the door. ¡°Get in here. Everything is going crazy.¡± She tells me. She is so dramatic. I am already aware that everything went sideways. I was there. I will let her fret over me; it is what she does best. This girl worries way too much. ¡°P do you know what is going on honey?¡± She asks me. ¡°Well my bubbly friend I know Sunnie tried to kill me, my brother is more psychotic than I originally thought, and I also know I was trapped for 900 years in hell. Oh and before I forget there are two children caught up in all of this. Did I leave anything out?¡± I say to her a little too dramatic. Cami is staring at me like I am crazy. ¡°I am going to get you a drink of Heaven''s nectar. Is that okay?¡± she says as she walks off. Did I piss her off or hurt her feelings? I am not sure. ¡°What is heavens nectar exactly Cami Dawn?¡± I ask her. She doesn¡¯t respond she just keeps walking. Humans are so sensitive. ¡°Mayhem maybe we should put the twins in the office. Can JJ watch them for just a moment? I need to apologize to Cami Dawn.¡±I ask him. I turn for a response he nods his head. JJ picks them both up and walks to the office. He knocks on the sign that reads unholy ones. Sam lets him in. I look around the room. The booth in the back, I wave at Cami Dawn to meet me at the booth. She nods. I make my way through all the people in the bar. There are a lot of people here. Don¡¯t fall to pieces keep going Perdition I hear a voice telling me. I just want to scream I am fine but I keep walking to the booth in the back. I sit down with my back to the wall. I can see everything going on. I can hear all of them. The bracelet in my pocket feels hot. I take it out and sit it on the table. It seems to be trying to mold back together. That is not strange at all. Of course, thest few days have been full of oddities. Why should this day be any different? Cami Dawn arrives at the table with my drink. ¡°Drink it. She was a vibrant young witch, and they were very much in love. Sam met Cami at a celebration for unholy ones. They were young and madly in love. Sam stood by Cami as she became obsessed with dark magic. Cami Dawn was powerful, but her obsession with the void and dark magic ultimatelynded her in the void with Perdition. Cami Dawn had neglected everything and everyone in her life. She became the darkness. Sam couldn¡¯t take it. He left her and took their children. He fled to New Orleans. He wanted to keep the children safe from Cami Dawn. He was unsure of how to save her. He called Labith to aid him in his dilemma. Key had not left Cami Dawn¡¯s side for thest six months. Daniel spared her life but forced her to be a servant to the chosen ones for her betrayal. He was feeling especially generous towards her since she was the only one who was able to keep Cami Dawn from hiding the twins from him. He knew Key would not remain loyal to him, but he didn¡¯t n on keeping her alive too long. He only needed her to keep Cami Dawn in check. It didn¡¯t hurt she was an excellent midwife. The first time JJ saw Daniel in Lakeville, he knew there was going to be trouble. He could see the pain oozing out of Daniel like a festering sore. He saw Perdition for the first time in images attached to Daniel. After that meeting, he left Lakeville. He knew he would not be safe that close to a celestial like Daniel. He moved to Frog Pen and eventually became friends with Sam and the other descendants. He and Sam had worked together to help any celestials and descendants thatnded on the topside. They work well together. They have a unique understanding of one another. Chapter 31: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 31: Part Two Queen Of Hell JJ rode silently, thinking of how to get Key out of jail. He knew exactly where Daniel would have her. It wouldn¡¯t be too hard to get her out. Daniel would be more concerned with Cami Dawn and the babies. JJ knew Daniel wouldn¡¯t wait too long to kill key. She had served her purpose. It was time to get rid of her. Cami wouldn¡¯t be too far behind her. He would kill her too. ¡°I know this is going to sound crazy, Sam, but I don¡¯t think they guard her at all.¡± JJ scans the images in his mind of Key. ¡°Daniel thinks he is invincible. Man, I think getting Key is going to be easy.¡± JJ says. ¡°I still want to be ready for anything,¡± Sam says. ¡°I understand that. What I am saying is, damn Sam, I think he is expecting us to get Key. I think he doesn¡¯t care either way. But Cami, Sam, I think that is where we will have the problem.¡± JJ says. ¡°JJ, I think you are right, but again I want to be ready,¡± Sam says. ¡°We are going to need help, JJ. Let¡¯s get Key out then we will figure out the next step.¡± JJ agreed with Sam, but he let his mind wander. When he was in Lakeville, there was one soul Daniel was afraid of and if she was still there, they could get to Cami with no problem. Key had a feeling she would be okay. The guards had left her alone in a cell. They had tried to sedate her, but being she was special, it didn¡¯t exactly work on her. She put on a good show for them. She fell on the floor and pretended to be out of it. She wasn¡¯t out of her mind or sedated. She was thinking of a way to get out of there. She feared Daniel would hear his thoughts. She knew he wasing, and that was enough to keep her sane for the moment. Key¡¯s father Markus could connect to several minds at once. He was a powerful man. Markus watched JJ for several months before he approached him. The two developed a kinship when Key was a child. JJ befriended the entire family. After Markus died Key went her own way and Sunnie lost herself. Sunnie was not a descendent, and she was terrible to deal with. Key was always the smart one. Sunnie was in-looking and always in a grim mood. JJ felt like Sunnie just needed someone to be there for her. When she met Ryan he had hoped she woulde around. Instead, Sunnie led Ryan right to the other side. Ryan turned his back on his family and betrayed the coven. Key was still curled up in a ball on the floor when she heard footsteps. It scared her to move. She wanted to listen with her mind to see if she knew who wasing, but she reserved her energy in case she had to fight her way out. The steps approached the tiny room they locked her in. ¡°She is over here.¡± The voice said. Key still did not dare move. ¡°Key!¡± The voice eximed. Key rolls over and opens one eye. It was JJ. ¡°What took you so long?¡± she asked as she smiled at the big burly man. ¡°I am here now. Stay back. I am going to kick in the door.¡± JJ said. Key rolls her eyes. ¡°No need.¡± Key leaps to her feet and waves her hand in front of the door. It opens. ¡°Why did you need me?¡± JJ asks. ¡°I couldn¡¯t walk out of here without protection. Let¡¯s get out of here.¡± Key says. ¡°Sam.¡± She hugs Sam. ¡°She¡¯s fine,¡± Key says. ¡°I hope so,¡± Sam says. The three walk back out the way Sam and JJ came in. ¡°There is no one here,¡± Key says. ¡°They thought they drugged me. They all left.¡± The three make it back to Sam¡¯s SUV. Key gets into the back andys down just in case someone get Cami Dawn.¡± Key says. The two men look at each other and then Key. ¡°Listen up. I can block myself and the babies. I can walk out before they even know I was there. But I cannot block Cami. You two will just have to grab her and run like hell.¡± Key sits back in her seat. ¡°You two got any explosives.¡± She says. JJ and Sam both smile. ¡°Yes, we do,¡± Sam says. ¡°Are we going to blow up a hospital?¡± JJ says. ¡°No, just the front door. I want them all running for it when you grab her.¡± Key says. ¡°I love her,¡± JJ says. The three of them drive across town to wait until dark. It is only a few hours. All three are hoping no one goes back to check on Key. If they don¡¯t know she is missing maybe they won¡¯t be looking for her. Daniel would be busy with his chosen ones. When it was just dark enough to hide the SUV the three pulled behind the hospital. The n was Key would go in the back, go up to the nursery, and grab both babies. Sam and JJ would set a timer for a bomb to go off at the front door, giving them just enough time to grab Cami Dawn and get back to the SUV. Key went in the back door. She could hide from anybody¡¯s mind as long as they were not a descendent. The spell to hidepletely is tooplex and she wanted to reserve energy just in case she needed it. As Key made her way through the hall, she saw the frumpy red-headed nurse. Now she could just follow her to the nursery and hope to find her way back out. As she was walking behind the nurse, she suddenly remembers this woman is a descendent. No time for any hups. She keeps following her. The nurse stops in front of the door. ¡°You¡¯re going to have to move fast when I open the door. I can¡¯t hold it open long or they will know.¡± She says. Key moves up as close to the nurse as possible. Once inside, she sees the babies. Now to wait for the explosion, Key waits quietly. She knows as soon as she grabs them the nurse will only be able to give her a few minutes until she has to sound the rm. Maybe I shouldn¡¯t wait, she thought. Maybe I should be already out of the door. When they blow the entrance someone could put the babies on lockdown. Key nods to the nurse. The nurse opens the door. Key grabs a baby in each arm and runs for the door. It takes the other nurse a few minutes to realize the babies vanished. Key is almost at the end of the hall when she sees Daniel. The stairwell is just beyond where he is standing. I can make it, she thinks to herself. She is running with everything in her when BOOM! The entrance is on fire. Daniel runs for the nursery. ¡°Lockdown the babies.¡± He screams at the nurses. ¡°Someone lockdown Cami¡¯s room.¡± He screams down the hall. It was toote. JJ and Sam were already almost to the SUV with Cami Dawn. Key wasing out the back door with the babies when Daniel realized exactly what was happening. Key jumps into the back seat with two infants. ¡°Go!¡± she screams. Key, Cami, and the babies were together again. They held each other as they drove off. ¡°Thank you,¡± Cami Dawn said. She was exhausted. ¡°Are you able to handle the trip to New Orleans, Cami?¡± Sam asks. ¡°Yes. I will be fine.¡± She says. Sam didn¡¯t like the way she looked. She looked frail and sick. After all these years, his instinct was to take care of her. Chapter 32: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 32: Part Two Queen Of Hell Mayhem and Tiffany arrive at Mrs. Bee¡¯s Bed and Breakfast in the Marigny part of town. ¡°This is so cool,¡± Tiffany says as she gets out of the car. ¡°We aren¡¯t here to site see Tiff. We have shit to do.¡± Mayhem says as he exits the vehicle and grabs two bags from behind his seat. Mrs. Beees out of the narrow side door. ¡°Hey loves.¡± She says as she tries to get to them without causing too much of amotion. Mrs. Bee was getting on up in her years. She still ran a tight ship, and she loved her little B & B. Her son-inw ran the bar. She loved it when Sam was in charge of it. She guessed Ernie was okay. He was good to her daughter, and he seemed to love the bar. The B & B had a small staff, and she liked it that way. She did not want a bunch of people running around trying to tell her how to run the ce. She wanted things done her way, and her way was final. Angie gets the keys for Mayhem and Tiff. ¡°Follow me, guys. I put you beside each other and close to the bar. Juste out of your room and take the alley. You can walk around back to the front and be at the bar.¡± Angie tells them. She walks them down hands each of them a key to their rooms. ¡°Try not to get too drunk before the rest of your party arrives.¡± She says and walks away. Angie knew something special was going on. She had been with Bee for many years. Whenever Bee puts up this kind of fuss there is something serious happening. She knew to be on alert and watch for anything unusual. The others were not far behind. They would be in the city within the hour. Sam was nervous. Things were just too quiet. Either Daniel didn¡¯t care or he knew where they were going. JJ had called Mrs. Bee from a gas station in Mississippi. She told him they were ready and waiting for them. JJ knew they would make it to New Orleans, but he was not sure what would happen once they all got there. Key wanted to find Brooke and Sunnie. Mayhem wanted to find his kids and Sam wanted to get Perdition back on their side. There was just too much going on in the city for JJ¡¯sfort. ¡°How in the hell are we going to do all this?¡± JJ asks Sam. ¡°I haven¡¯t figured it out yet, but I bet Mrs. Bee has and my money is on her,¡± Sam says. ¡°I can agree with that Sam.¡± JJughs. The girls and the babies were fast asleep in the back. Cami still looked frail. Sam worried about her. He hoped Mrs. Bee could take care of Cami Dawn. She was a lucky girl there were so many people willing to help despite her past, everyone loved her. Tiffany and Mayhem got settled into their rooms. Mayhem knew everyone would be there soon. He wanted to slip off and look around. See if he saw many familiar faces in the streets. He knew Perdition would stay close to Canal and Bourbon street so he felt safe walking around on Rampart or Marigny. They were close to the spiritual temple, and he wanted to go by and pick up a few things. As he walked out of her room Tiffany was at his door. ¡°You are not going without me.¡± She said. ¡°Wow. You look amazing.¡± Mayhem said. They both head down the hall and slip into the alley and back to the front of the building. ¡°You want to see where Sam got the idea for his bar?¡± Mayhem asks her. ¡°Hell yes!¡± she replied. ¡°Follow me.¡± He says. Chapter 33: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 33: Part Two Queen Of Hell When they get to the front of the B & B there is a bright red bar, The Devils Caf¨¦. ¡°Are you serious?¡± Tiff says. ¡°Everything in here is red. So when Sam opened the Frog Pen, he did everything green. He said this ce inspired him. They have a drink here called wide open hell. Let¡¯s get one.¡± Mayhem says. ¡°Okay, but just one. I am not a drinker.¡± She says. ¡°You work in a bar and you¡¯re not a drinker. Okay, sounds about right.¡± Mayhem says. ¡°We need to walk around the streets and just make sure we don¡¯t see anyone that might you know be looking for us.¡± He says. She nods. ¡°I guess we are a couple then tonight.¡± She smiles at him. Tiffany ms her drink and jumps up from the bar. ¡°You ready?¡± Mayhem drinks the rest of his drink and takes her by the hand. The two of them go out onto Rampart Street. ¡°We should walk up to Frenchmen street,¡± Mayhem says. ¡°You know to look around.¡± She smiles at him. ¡°It¡¯s okay to have a little fun. I won¡¯t tell if you don¡¯t,¡± he says. The two head toward Frenchmen. It was only a few blocks and there were plenty of bars to explore along the way. Sam pulls into the alley behind the B & B. Cami is still sleeping in the back, cuddled up to both babies. Key is observing her every move. ¡°I am worried.¡± Key intones. ¡°JJ is going to stay here with all of you while I go find Mrs. Bee,¡± Sam says. There was no need she was already on the way. As he exited the SUV, he could hear her fussing at Angie. Angie came running out in front of Mrs. Bee. ¡°Sam!¡± she yelled as she ran to him. I put JJ next to her and Sam you are in the room next to JJ. Mayhem and Angie are in rooms close to the Alley.¡± She hands Sam all the keys. ¡°I am clocking out for the day and going to get a drink,¡± Angie says. Angie would not stand around and watch everyone wait on Cami Dawn hand and foot. She was still furious with her over Sam. Angie and Sam had gotten close when he stayed with Mrs. Bee in New Orleans. Angie just wanted the best for him, and she knew it absolutely was not Cami Dawn. Cami Dawn was getting exactly what she deserved. ¡°Angie, wait!¡± Sam called to her. ¡°Please wait. Let me get everyone settled. We need to talk.¡± Angie stopped. ¡°You know where I will be. Meet me there.¡± She says. JJ was watching all this unfold. He hoped none of this would be a problem. They didn¡¯t need any new ones. Enough was going on. Sam and JJ got everything out of the SUV and took it to the rooms Angie had assigned them. Key helped Cami Dawn and the babies to the room they had been assigned. ¡°She looks bad, Sam,¡± Key says as she walks behind Cami Dawn. Sam nods in agreement. She looked bad. She looked worse since they arrived. Mrs. Bee went with Key and Cami to their room. Many babies were raised in this old B & B and two had died here. Mrs. Bee would not let that happen again. She was going to make everything right. Sam ced his things in his room and hurried down to Key and Cami¡¯s room. When he walked in to see Mrs. Bee rocking the infants, it was like d¨¦j¨¤ vu. JJ is staying behind to monitor all of you.¡± ¡°You going to the Devil¡¯s caf¨¦?¡± Mrs. Bee asks. ¡°Unless she is hanging out somewhere else these days,¡± Sam replies. It was obvious she had been crying. ¡°Sure, as long as we do not talk about her.¡± She says. ¡°Why don¡¯t you let me buy you a beer?¡± Sam asks. ¡°Make it a whiskey and I will go inside with you.¡± She replied. Sam agreed, and they walked into the open door. Chapter 34: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 34: Part Two Queen Of Hell The Devils Caf¨¦ was owned and operated by Mrs. Bee since her husband died. He bought the caf¨¦ because Bee loved the view from the balcony. It connected to her B & B, and she wanted to look out from the upstairs and drink her jackced coffee every morning. She told him it would be a good business investment. He knew she loved the view. She went there every morning since they opened the B & B. He gave her the key to the Devils Caf¨¦ on their 10th wedding anniversary. She loved that little bar. Sam helped her run it when he was in New Orleans and now her daughter Maria and her son-inw Ernie run it. She doesn¡¯t go upstairs as often. In herter years, her knees bother her too much to go up the steps to the view she loves so much. Now and then she will still make it up to her beloved view of the city. Bee has a passion for New Orleans. A passion only a lifelong resident of the city has. ¡°Sam,¡± Maria called to him as he walked into the bar behind Angie. Sam waved as he and Angie made their way to the bar. Maria was not waiting for him to get to the bar. She ran straight to him. ¡°I have missed you.¡± She grabbed him and kissed him on the check. ¡°Are you back?¡± she asked. Angie stepped up. ¡°Yep, and ask him he who has with him,¡± Angie says. ¡°Not her,¡± Maria says. ¡°Let¡¯s not do this,¡± Sam says. ¡°I need a drink,¡± Sam walks to the bar. ¡°Is it bad?¡± Maria asks Angie. What Cami practiced was beyond ck magic, it was something so dark it would scare the devil. Angie and Maria were both witches. Maria and her husband were quite hippy types. They loved everyone. Maria fed the homeless when she wasn¡¯t at the bar. If she had a moment to spare, she was fixing meals and taking them to anyone on the street. She made small bags to give the homeless. Maria loved to serve her fellow human beings. Angie came to work for Bee when she was homeless. Maria found her on the street with her dog. Angie walked out of a terrible rtionship with nothing but her dog. When Angie met Maria, she asked her to get her dog off the street. Maria knew there was something special about her and took her to the B & B. She put her and Wally up at the B & B that night. The next day Bee gave her a job. Angie has been there ever since. Wally was protective of Mrs. Bee. He loved her as much as he loved Angie. No one messed with thedies at the B & B. Wally was sweet, but he would eat you up if you messed with his women. Sam settled down at the bar. He asked the bartender for a bottle. He had a feeling the girls were about toy into him and he was not about to have this conversation sober. The bartender put a bottle of whiskey on the bar. ¡°How many sses do you need, Sam?¡± Bob asked. Bob was another homeless man Maria had given a job to. ¡°I guess three. If they stop gossiping before I finish it without them.¡± Sam replied. ¡°Hey Bob, is the jukebox still out back?¡± Sam asked. ¡°It sure is. Do you need some quarters?¡± Bob answers. ¡°No man. I still remember the code.¡± Sam says. He takes his bottle and a ss. ¡°Hey, Bob. Tell them if they want to drink to bring a ss.¡± Sam says. Sam heads outback to the old jukebox. ¡°Where the hell is Sam going?¡± Angie asks. ¡°Probably to the Jukebox. We better hurry before he drinks the entire bottle and starts ying tear in my beer music.¡± Maria says. The two walk up to the bar to speak briefly to Bob and head outback to Sam and the jukebox. The two hustle to the back. Sam is at the old jukebox looking at the same selection that was there 10 years ago. ¡°You find anything, Sam?¡± the girls ask him. Sam was standing at the box, drinking straight from the whiskey bottle. ¡°Not yet.¡± He answers. ¡°You know we will not ask you about her tonight, but tomorrow we need answers,¡± Angie says. Maria agrees. ¡°Thanks. Because I cannot do this right now.¡± Sam says. ¡°Did you get us a ss?¡± Angie asks. ¡°No, he did not get us a ss. Pass that bottle, Sam.¡± Maria says. The three pass the bottle and listen to the juke for the rest of the night. The three did not mention Cami or sins from the past. The threeughed and drank just like all friends. The night was full of love andughter. Angie had hoped Sam would remember everything he had here in New Orleans before. They were quite a pair. She had hoped for more, but he left after his children died. He couldn¡¯t stand to be here anymore. She knew he was going to have a hard time here. Not only was Cami Dawn back in his life, but he had toe back to New Orleans and face the death of his children. Not only did he have to face it, but he had to care for her and her new children. Chapter 35: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 35: Part Two Queen Of Hell How was he holding up? All Angie could think of was how strong he has to be. There is no way he could just hold all this in. Not only is he caring for his ex-wife and her two newborns, but he has to hunt down the daughter of Lucifer and get her toe back to the side of the descendants. She was so infatuated with him. He was a sexy beast of a man. Maria knew she needed to make an exit. She knew Angie would want time with him alone. Angie would want to try again. Angie was in love with Sam. Their time in New Orleans was epic, to say the least about it. She thought he felt the same way too. In the end, Sam had to put distance between everything that had happened to him in New Orleans and his life. He could not get past losing his children. Now ying in his mind as he drank whiskey in the Devils Caf¨¦ with his old life, all he could think was what Bee meant by maybe we can make it right. What had happened to them? Where were they? Mayhem and Tiffany walked to the back to y the old Juke. There they saw Sam and Angie. ¡°Maybe we should find something else to do and let them be,¡± Tiffany suggested. Mayhem agreed. The two found a table in the caf¨¦ and waved Bob over. ¡°What¡¯s up, guys?¡± Bob asked. ¡°How long have they been out there?¡± Tiffany asked. Bob thought it over for a second. ¡°A while, guys. I am not really sure. Maria left and went back to Bees¡¯ ce. She said to let them be alone.¡± Bob answered. ¡°Thanks.¡± Mayhem said. ¡°Maybe we should go talk to Maria and Bee. Mayhem knew, and he wasn¡¯t sure if he should get into all that with Tiffany. Tiffany had worked for Sam for a long time. She wanted to know everything about this power they had. Sam came into his power and he keeps it in check. Sam is a kitchen witch, a mixologist, he is a good guy. Cami Dawn had this power. It was crazy. She could move things with her mind, She could hear your inner thoughts. She could imnt thoughts into your brain. She is from a powerful line of watchers. She wanted to know more about it. Which led her to a watcher. That watcher destroyed her. Cami Dawn gave the watcher her twins for more power. She was not in her right mind. We all know that. We all knew sweet humble high strung Cami. The new Cami was, Well, she was frightening.¡± Mayhem said. Tiffany sat there staring at him. She did not know what to say. She had heard the rumors. She heard that Cami Dawn had murdered her children for one. She had heard she gave them away. But this was worse than she imagined. Mayhem had not told her everything. He didn¡¯t feel it was his ce. The watchers and Venus building an army of children born to descendants. That was too much to tell just yet. He would tell Tiffany more; he had learned not to hide things anymore. Today would not be that day. It was too soon to revisit all the memories. Mayhem knew those memories were about to bite all of them in the ass. He wasn¡¯t sure if they were prepared for what ising. Rescuing Cami Dawn seemed to go too easy. Damnation was obviously upied with something much bigger. What could go on that he would let Cami Dawn and Key get away from him so easily, and Brooke? The two leave Bob a tip on the table and leave the Devils Caf¨¦. Mayhem wanted to put everything behind him, even if just for one more night. He knew he had things to do, but this one moment he could just be home in New Orleans with a beautiful woman dancing in the street while listening to street musicians ying jazz. For this moment he could feel like himself. Sam and Angie made their way from the back of the Devils Caf¨¦. He wanted to get back to Bees. He needed to check on Cami Dawn and Key. He knew there was nothing he could say to Angie tonight to reassure her he was going to be okay. Sam knew he did not need to be with Cami Dawn anymore. He knew the feelings would always be there, but the hurt would never leave. He still loved her, but he also hated her. He wanted to remain her friend. He tried. The night she showed up after she left the void. She was vibrant. She was hell-bent on making everything right. It was hard for him to look at her and not see their babies. Will she give them to the watcher? Chapter 36: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 36: Part Two Queen Of Hell JJ sat in his room at the B&B contemting what he should do. He didn¡¯t want to go out into the city and leave the girls without someone close by. He wanted to go look for Perdition, but he felt that could wait at least one more day. Besides, as soon as Perdition and Chaos figured out they were in the city, the two would probably seek them out. He hoped they would anyway. He hoped he could talk to her and maybe reason with her. First, he needed Chaos out of the way. How in the hell would he get him out of the way? He thought about knocking him out cold. He figured it wouldn¡¯t be that hard. The thought brought a smile to his face. The winds were blowing hard, and the rain wasing in. JJ opened his door. Rain in New Orleans was different. It was a spiritual experience. JJ had a deep love for New Orleans. Something he and Sam had inmon. Sam would¡¯ve never left New Orleans if Cami Dawn would¡¯ve just stayed away. He could¡¯ve had a good life here. ¡°Damn, and here we are back in the city with her,¡± JJ said out loud. ¡°Watch it,¡± a little voice said. ¡°Come see me, Bee,¡± JJ responded to the little voice. Bee walked to JJ¡¯s door. ¡°Now listen here. I know what you are thinking just try to be kind.¡± Bee said. JJ nodded his head. ¡°I will try.¡± He said. ¡°How is she?¡± Bee looked toward the room Cami Dawn was in, ¡°Well, I know no doctor can help her. What is going on with her is something else. I don¡¯t know what it is exactly, but I bet it¡¯s why Daniel didn¡¯t chase after her too hard. She is very sick.¡± Bee says. ¡°Is she going to die, Bee?¡± JJ asks, ¡°I don¡¯t know, child.¡± She responds. ¡°I just don¡¯t know. Don¡¯t leave her alone with Angie. She might kill her first.¡± JJ smiled until he realized Bee was not kidding. He straightened himself up and gave her an affirmative nod. The winds were increasing, and it seemed to Tiffany the rain was getting harder by the second. As she and Mayhem danced in the street, she suddenly became frightened. I think maybe we should.¡± The two hurried over to the sidewalk to seek shelter from the rain. JJ and Bee stood in the doorway, Tiffany and Mayhem ran down the sidewalk, Key and Cami Dawn were resting with the babies, Sam and Angie waved bye to Bob, at the same time they all heard ¡°The watchers areing.¡± Cami Dawn opened her eyes, ¡°They areing for me.¡± She says. Key went to the door to see JJ and Bee standing outside. ¡°The watchers areing, JJ, Bee!¡± she screams. Tiffany and Mayhem run as fast as they can to get back to the inn. Sam stops. ¡°Angie. They areing for her.¡± He says. ¡°I know,¡± Angie says. ¡°I know. This isn¡¯t the first time.¡± The group reunited at the stone garden just past their rooms, except Cami Dawn, She was almost ¡°How is she?¡± Angie asks Key. ¡°She is a lot worse,¡± Tiffany says. ¡°Bee, is this how she looked before, You know when they came for her?¡± Tiffany looks at Bee waiting for an answer. ¡°Yes,¡± Bee says. Before Bee goes any further with this she takes a second to look at Sam. She thinks about the day she showed up. How beautiful she looked, how happy Sam was to see her, how he thought he could make his family work. And then the watchers came for her, and she traded her precious babies to save herself. They wanted Cami Dawn and all the power she possessed. They wanted her to serve them. She had made this bed a long time ago, and now she was finally going to have to pay up. Cami Dawn had dabbled in ck magic without knowing exactly what she was doing. She had crossed over into magic no one should mess with. She had hexed herself into a life of service to the watchers. Mrs. Bee would not protect Cami Dawn this time. She only wanted to make sure the babies would survive. She was prepared to fight for them. Mrs. Bee knew this was going to be hard on Sam, but he could not spend his life protecting Cami Dawn. As far as Mrs. Bee was concerned, Sam had done enough for Cami Dawn. Why must he keep putting himself in this situation, she wondered? She would say nothing to Sam. At least not right now. ¡°We have to do something?¡± Sam says. The others said nothing. ¡°Don¡¯t you guys get it? She is a good person. She just fell into something dark. They used her.¡± Key was the only one willing to fight for Cami Dawn. It wille back to you.¡± She says. Perdition gives her the water and hurries back to the group. ¡°Key!¡± Perdition screams. Key turns to her. ¡°I need to know if they are hers. Were you with her? She said she hid her children.¡± Perdition asks. ¡°She did, but Daniel made me locate them. It wasn¡¯t difficult. She was too weak to hide them very far. Yes, they are hers. She is just very sick.¡± Key says. ¡°She tried to put them in the void with Labith, but she didn¡¯t have enough juice. She tried to use your power. It almost worked. I was concerned too. Daniel didn¡¯t even chase us. We guess he is preupied.¡± Perdition smiled. ¡°Oh, he is.¡± She says. ¡°We have about thirty minutes before the watchers get here. With this wind and rain, it¡¯s definitely Jaza and his two sons. I can reason with Jaza. Just try not to piss off his two sons; they are difficult to deal with.¡± Sam looks at the group. He is unsure if they are going to help him protect Cami Dawn. ¡°It¡¯s a good thing we have the Queen of Hell,¡± he says as he walks away. Perdition smiles at him. ¡°I am not a queen yet.¡± Sheughs. Sam looked at how much more beautiful and confident she had be. He was proud of her. Maybe Chaos wasn¡¯t the asshole he thought he was. Sam looked at Chaos, nope I hate him, he thought. ¡°I heard that.¡± Perdition says. Jaza and his two sons arrive in New Orleans. They brought a terrible storm with them. The streets were almost empty. Jaza knew his way to Mrs. Bee¡¯s. He had been there before many years ago. He couldn¡¯t believe Cami Dawn was stupid enough toe back here to New Orleans. Her magic was weak but Jaza, the great watcher had enormous power. Jaza had given Cami Dawn great powers, and she was still paying the debt she owed. She tried to bribe her way out with Damnation, but he refused to be involved. She had to pay up. When Jaza got to the small alley that led to the stone garden, he walked purposefully toward the group gathered. He was not going to give them a chance to speak. He was only there for her. Sam turned to Jaza. ¡°She is sick. Do you still want her?¡± he asked. ¡°Who do you think made her sick?¡± Jaza replied. ¡°There will be no fight today, Samuel. I do not have time or patients to deal with you. We are only here for her.¡± ¡°What about me?¡± Jaza turned to see Perdition standing in Cami Dawn¡¯s doorway. ¡°My Queen,¡± Jaza says. ¡°You know she owes me.¡± ¡°Yes, I do. I also know she is caring for two babies. Can¡¯t this wait, Jaza?¡± Perdition says. ¡°Yes, we know. Her sons have served me well.¡± Jaza responds. Sam is infuriated by Jaza. ¡°Oh, look the father.¡± He says. ¡°Is he the father of the new babies?¡± Jaza asks. ¡°No, they belong to my brother.¡± Perdition says. Jaza standspletely still. ¡°I am sorry. I would not harm the grandchildren of Lucifer.¡± Jaza says. ¡°But this does not settle the matter, Perdition. She muste with me.¡± Perdition holds out her palm, facing Jaza, and pushes fire and light out of her hand. ¡°I do not think so.¡± She says. Jaza screams. His two sons hear him, they run to their father. ¡°Key stop them,¡± Perdition says. ¡°Sam, go to Cami Dawn and keep her safe.¡± ¡°Perdition, you cannot kill him and you know it.¡± It was Labith speaking to her. She was behind the sons. ¡°I will not kill him,¡± Perdition says. ¡°She has toe with us and you know it,¡± Labith says. ¡°Not while the babies are so small. I know everything about you and what you did to get out of the void. Angie and Tiffany stayed behind with Cami Dawn and Key. The three were eager to hear what Perdition was going to tell them about the Watchers and Damnation. They walked into the Devils Caf¨¦, Bob was still working behind the bar. He waved at them and pointed to the stairs. They went up the stairs to the upper bar. It wasn¡¯t being used today. It would be perfect for the meeting. ¡°We are here,¡± Sam announces as they reach the top of the stairs. Only Perdition was present. ¡°Where is Chaos?¡± Mayhem asks. ¡°He is uptown. He sent him to get me a few things.¡± She responds. Perdition goes behind the bar and gets a bottle. ¡°You guys might want a shot before I tell you what¡¯s going on. I honestly think I need a couple.¡± Perdition says as she pours four double shots of whiskey. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, JJ. I have something special for us.¡± She says. She adds Heaven¡¯s nectar to hers and JJs shot. They each take their shot. ¡°The watchers are trying to repopte the earth with more watchers.¡± Perdition says. The three are in shock. ¡°Wait, what?¡± JJ says. ¡°How did you find this out?¡± he asks. ¡°My brother told me.¡± She responds. ¡°The watchers don¡¯t want an apocalypse. No, they want to rule the topside. Before you ask, Venus is still locked in the garden. Isaac is still there too. No one has even attempted to get her out.¡± Perdition says. ¡°So it does not involve Venus at all,¡± Sam says. ¡°I thought she was in charge of all this.¡± Sam continues to drink. ¡°She is not. It is Labith, Damnation, and the watchers. I am sure Venus has some part in it. But it¡¯s the watchers trying to take over.¡± Perdition says. ¡°But why?¡± Mayhem asks. ¡°why would Labith want the watchers to take over topside? It makes little sense.¡± ¡°They want to go back to the way it was when they were powerful. They were like gods here on earth until they were punished for having human orgies.¡± Sam says. ¡°It was more than that.¡± Perdition says. ¡°They taught humans about magic and nature. He knew Perdition would rule hell properly. Damnation would not be a superb choice. He would leave it abandoned for demons and watchers to do as they please. Jaza would destroy topside if he had the demons and watchers under him. JJ did not want to see Perdition stuck serving the underworld. He wasn¡¯t sure what the best choice would be. JJ knew it wasn¡¯t Jaza. Jaza could not rule the underworld. Even if it meant he had to go to the underworld and protect Lucifer himself. Jaza would not rule. Chapter 38: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 38: Part Two Queen Of Hell Sam was a little drunk when he entered his room. He knew how Mrs. Bee felt about smoking in the rooms, but he desperately needed one. He almost smoked in the room, then he remembered how mean Bee could be if she felt disrespected. He decided it was best if he stepped outside his room. He turned the radio on to his favorite New Orleans station. ¡°Sweet Jazz.¡± He said out loud. ¡°Nothing like it.¡± Sam stood outside his room smoking. As the rain fell in New Orleans, the sweet rain and sounds of Jazzing out of his radio he could only think of Angie. ¡°I was so stupid.¡± He said. ¡°Yes, you were and still are idiotic.¡± A soft voice said. It was Angie. She looked amazing standing there. ¡°I¡¯m sorry I brought her here. I am sorry I hurt you and mostly I am just sorry.¡± He said. Angie didn¡¯t say a word. I can make us a drink and we can talk or dance or whatever.¡± Angie says. Angie longed for Sam¡¯s touch again. She did not want Cami Dawn or Key or anyone else to see or hear what she was about to do to him. She wanted him all to herself for the night. Whatever was Sam followed Angie to her room. He wanted her as much as she wanted him. He had missed her. He had thought about her a lot. He wanted to reach out to her so many times. He didn¡¯t think he could relive any part of his life in New Orleans. Now here he was with her in New Orleans and it felt right. He didn¡¯t want to think about Cami Dawn or Perdition tonight. He was with her tonight. She would be his focus. He was torn between two women and two lives he had lived. His life with Cami Dawn and the life he could¡¯ve had with Angie. Not tonight. Tonight was just for Angie. The two went inside her small apartment. Bee had let Angie turn two rooms into a small apartment. She had taken to the task and made the ce amazing. ¡°I love it,¡± Sam says. ¡°I will make us a drink,¡± Angie says as she flips on the kitchen light. ¡°Just make yourself at home.¡± Angie went into the bathroom to check and see how she looked. She wiped the ck from her mascara under her eyes. Her hair was messy from dancing in the rain. She still looked beautiful. She grabbed two sses out of the kitchen and a bottle. ¡°I thought you were making hurricanes,¡± Sam said. ¡°I figured we could just do shots and ponder life.¡± She says. Sam pours two shots and hands one to Angie. He sat down his ss and kissed her. ¡°I am sorry.¡± He says. She knew he was. He ran his hand down her back into the curve of her waist and pulled her close to him. Angie pushed him onto the couch and climbed on top of him. The two had some wild nights before, but tonight was different. Sam knew he still loved her. She moved as fast as she could to Angie¡¯s room. ¡°I aming as fast as I can. I aming!¡± she hollered. JJ heard themotion and ran to the courtyard. He could see Mrs. Bee running and hear Angie¡¯s screams. Mayhem came out of his room to see what was going on. ¡°Come on!¡± JJ says. The two men started running toward the screaming. Mrs. Bee is stuck trying to keep the peace between the crew. She knew it would be difficult, but she never thought bringing Sam back to New Orleans would cause this. Sam was like her son. Cami Dawn had brought trouble to her door yet again. Mrs. Bee sorted through ideas on how to remedy the situation, but she came up with nothing. ¡°I guess I will have to wait and see.¡± She says out loud. I will make everything right.¡± Perdition returns to the living room to find Angie sleeping. She tries to creep out of the apartment. She turns the knob to go out. ¡°I¡¯ll do it,¡± Angie says. ¡°I am doing it for Sam, not her. After I take them, she can never have them back.¡± Perdition smiles at her. ¡°You do understand she will be no more after today. It will be over for her.¡± ¡°How are you going to get Key to agree with this?¡± Angie asks. ¡°I am not nning on asking her permission. You just deal with Sam.¡± Perdition says and leaves the apartment. Angie knew this would not be a simple swap for Cami Dawn to stop Jaza. She had no idea how she would convince Sam to just leave and go hide in a cabin between two worlds. They had separate lives to live. She was willing to do anything to help Sam, even if it meant raising the babies. ¡°I have never raised anything except my dog.¡± She said as she scratched Wally behind the ears. ¡°You think you will be okay with two human siblings, Wally?¡± Perdition went to JJ next. She had a lot to do and very little time to get everything ready for Jaza. She met JJ in the courtyard. ¡°I have a n.¡± She says. JJ shakes his head. ¡°I know. I can still hear your thoughts.¡± JJ says. ¡°Do you think it will work?¡± he asks. ¡°I am not sure. He had sent word to every watcher hiding on earth to be ready. Perdition had contacted Labith and told her to bring Jaza to the inn tonight. Perdition was ready to give up Cami Dawn in exchange Jaza would leave Sam alone and not interfere with the babies. Labith knew there was no way Perdition would just quietly hand over Cami Dawn. Chapter 41: Part Two Queen Of Hell Chapter 41: Part Two Queen Of Hell Perdition had little time to get everyone safe. She wasn¡¯t sure how she would handle Sam. She nned to get Angie and Mrs. Bee as far away from New Orleans as possible with the newborns. She also had to deal with Mayhem, Tiffany, JJ, and Chaos. She nned to use Chaos to distract Jaza. She wasn¡¯t sure how much she could depend on him. Jaza had to die. She knew there would be hell to pay, but it had to be done. What was the worst they could do to her? Send her to the void. She wasn¡¯t afraid, and there was no one as powerful as her. Not even her brother coulde close to her power. She could feel it growing every day. Now she just had to figure out exactly how to use it to save her friends. Her powers were strong but raw. She still had difficulty focusing on just using her power and not it taking over. She knew she needed to focus right now. ¡°Sam,¡± she said as she let herself into his room. ¡°I need to see you.¡± He did not answer. Maybe he was still sleeping, she thought. ¡°Sam,¡± she said softly again. She let herself in the room he and Angie were sharing.
