Chapter 19: Dead Eyes
*VENUS''s POV*
After we got back to the Pack Territory, it was still funny how they just fell down on the gate in
exhaustion. They were grumbling something but i was too unbothered to understand any of it. I didn''t
mind them and headed straight to my ce.
I''m starving.
Once i was in the kitchen area.That''s when i realized that Alpha Derek was living independently for
some reason, so there was basically no one but me who''ll cook for myself.
It''s not a problem anyway.
I wore the apron and wrapped it around my body. Then i prepared the cooking materials as well as the
ingredients before lying them down on the table. That''s when i sensed someoneing near me, a
familiar scent and how angry the footsteps were simr to only one person in this world.
It''s him.
"You got back early." He says in a low menacing voice upon entering.
I sheepishly smiled. "Alpha Derek, i''m cooking lunch, do you wanna join me? Seeing that you''ve lived
alone for so long. Then i guess you can impart some cooking tips for me?"
He ignored everything i said and sat down on the chair in front of me, "Venus, i don''t care about your
personal fetish. But you better not be doing anything shady to your squad or else."
"What?"
Hearing theint, i couldn''t help but stop with what i was doing. Why did he say that? i would''ve
guessed that he suspected me as a spy, but since he referred to it as ''Personal Fetish'', it must be
something else.
"Personal fetish? What is this? Am i being suspected of something shady? I have no idea what you''re
talking about."
He ms his palm on the table, "I''m warning you, there''s no one us who can enter this house. If i see a
single strand of others even in your room? Be prepared to face the consequences!"
Wait a minute, how did he know i invited someone toe over? Did he follow us on the top of Mount
Krolo? My eyebrow raised in confusion, iid the apron down and carefully walked toward him.
"Did you follow us? Is this what this is about? About Liam''s punishment? Coz if it''s about that you''re
being angry about, then don''t worry. I''m not nning anything shady. And besides, he''s not my type
anyway."
I expected him to calm down after what i said, but for some reason, i think i might have pulled on a
trigger. I was so close to him when he stood up in anger and i almost fell down on my ass If it weren''t
for his hand supporting my waist.
My eyes widened.
My... isn''t this such a provocative pose?
I didn''t mind his touch that much, better yet i kind of needed it. I could feel the sense of relief and
essenceing slowly back towards me. Without knowing it, i was already yearning for more.
I need to touch him more.
I wrapped my arms around his neck as he stared at me in shock.
"You''re obviously my type, why can''t you see that? Haven''t i disyed my feelings quite well?"

He furrows his eyebrow, this time i felt his whole body calm down. He wasn''t in a state of running away
anymore, but as we gazed into each other''s eyes, i understood what his stare meant.
It was cold, and filled with disbelief, themon eyes that i often see in people in my past.
"I hate liars the most. Do you expect me to believe that bullshit when you can''t even hide those dead
eyes of yours?"
My eyes widened. It took me about a second before i realized that i was burning in anger, i felt my
veins twitch when i suddenly remembered the time that people scorned me for being different, his eyes
screamed with contempt and i hated it.
{"Look at you, you''re nothing but a living dead. Even if you''re strong, i doubt you''ll even live normally
like the rest of us. So don''t try to fit in, it''s disgusting."}
I gasped, as i pushed him away.
Those people... why am i remembering it suddenly now? Why does it make my blood boil? At that time,
all i could do was stare nkly back at them as theyughed at me.
I couldn''t understand before, but right now. I could fully feel it through my bones. He''s humiliating me
just like the rest of them!
I pped him. I did it so hard that his lips bled in impact.
"What do you know about me?! You can call me any names you want, but don''t you dare describe me
as dead! Aren''t i living?! i survived all this time, i don''t need people to validate my existence!"
For 12 years, haven''t i been doing well? I didn''t break my promise with my mother and lived well
despite this world rejecting me!
"No one denies you! I''m just telling you what i''m seeing!"
"Well i don''t need to hear it! I don''t need people like you who grumbles all your fucked upints
just to bring others down!"
"Wow, you''re angry right now? you''re the one who started provoking me! Can you even swear you
weren''t lying back there?"
"Why does it matter-"
"It does!" He shouts in frustration. "Because i don''t understand you! My instincts is telling me to trust
you, but i can''t find the reason why! The first time we met, i already knew you were suspicious- even
more suspicious when i knew that you were nning to join my pack. Now that you''re one of us, the
least that you could do is convince me that you''re not doing all of this out of bad intentions!"
So that''s it... he never trusted me since the very beginning. Hah.. who am i kidding? I''m a spy sent to
observe him, this is so way out of the line Venus. Why am i even getting riled up like this?
Why do i care what he thinks?
My fist clenched in rage. I was losing control of my emotion again. This time the feeling of anger was so
much that i only realized the situation at hand.
I shouldn''t make him hate me, it''ll only be my disadvantage if i do.
"I... I''m sorry Alpha Derek. I shouldn''t have disrespected you like that. I''m prepared to take any
punishment but let''s just do this tomorrow. I promise to convince you then."
I didn''t give him anymore chances to refute back and i ran upstairs towards my room in a hurry.
