Chapter 30- Amara
I stirred in the bed to find myself restricted to move in a very dark room. Yup I freaked out and kicked
everything I can touch. I heard a ‘umphh’ followed by a huge thud and the lights turned on. I found a
very angry Steven ring at me from beside themp after my eyes adjusted to the sudden light. I
grinned at him apologetically and mad a dash for it but as soon as my feet touched the floor, my legs
turned jelly and I lost my bnce. I don’t think I have gained the feelings back in thempletely yet. I
readied myself for the face nt with the ground but it never came. Steven had already picked me up
in his arms. My knight in shining armor who is very angry at the moment. I think I should make a run for
it.
“You know you almost had a very interesting interaction with the hard floor right?” Steven said amused.
I nodded and hid my face in the crook of his neck, blushing madly. Heughed at my expense making
me pout.
“You are adorable.” He said pecking my pouty lips.
I poked my tongue at him yfully but my stomach decided to screech like a dying whale in the very
moment making my face heat up in embarrassment. Please mother earth, open up and swallow me
whole. Steven gave a boomingugh and carried me to the living room and plopped me beside a very
gloomy Austin. Austin looked to be besides himself. I looked at Steven for exnation but he just
shrugged and left towards the kitchen. He did look a little worried though.
“Austin.” I called touching his hand.
He jerked out of his trance and looked around wildly, scaring the shit out of me. His eyes thennded
on my hand and then me. He forced a smile towards me.
“Are you alright?” I asked him.
“Yeah.” He was lying. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?”
“You don’t look okay.’’ I replied ignoring hister question.
“Just thinking. That’s all.” This time he smiled genuinely. “What about you? How are you feeling?”
“My limbs feel like jelly but beside that I am perfectly fine. I will be back to normal once I eat
something.” I said grinning.
“Good. Now that’s the Amara I was missing.” He said yfully.
We heard a very prominent hiss from the kitchen. Yup! Loud enough for my non sensitive ears. Austin
gave a very boomingugh.
“You have a very possessive boyfriend.” Austin said smirking.
“We are not dating.” I mumbled.
He haven’t asked me out yet.
“Yes we are.” Steven shouted from the kitchen.
“You haven’t asked me out yet.” I fired back.
“Doesn’t matter. We are dating. We are going on a date tomorrow.” Steven replied stubbornly.
All the while Austin was rolling on the couch,ughing his head off. I blushed at Steven’s blunt
deration. The delicious scent of mac and cheese wafted out of the kitchen making my mouth water.
Steven came out of the kitchen with a te holding a mound of creamy mac and cheese. I actually
licked my lips looking at it.
“You are drooling.” Austin sniggered.
Steven smirked at me when I wiped the drool out of the corner of my mouth. I just stretched my hands
towards the te. My stomach called for it quite shameless. When ites to food, I can be really
tant. Steven handed me the te full of heavenughing his ass off. I ced it on the table and
started shoving the food in my mouth. It just melted right away in my mouth. I was done eating in a
matter of minutes. Steven handed me a ss of orange juice while Austin was looking at me with his
mouth hanging open.
“What’s going on over here?” Aaron saiding towards us.
He looked at the two stunned vampires in the room and then looked at me and the empty te. I
grinned at him.
“You haven’t seen her eat when she is really hungry before, have you?” Aaron asked amused.
I blushed from his statement. I am not that bad. Okay I am when ites to food. Besides who doesn’t
like food?
“Well if you don’t mind, I would like my best friend back.” Aaron said to us.
Steven hissed quite maliciously and pulled me in his arms. From the looks of Aaron, Steven must be
giving him a hard re. I looked at him to find his iris and pupil had turned red. Woah!
“Umm Steve.” Austin started but Steven shut him up with a growl.
He tightened his arms around me to the point that it had be painful and started walking

backwards. What the hell! Aaron looked scared out of his mind while Austin looked worried.
“Steve you are hurting her.” Austin said.
Steven gasped and loosened his hold a little but didn’t let go of me. He looked at me with a very
saddened expression. Somethings not right. Why are his eyes red?
“Steven are you alright?” I asked taking his face in my palm.
He just leaned into my palms and looked at me with a very weird expression.
“Steve she is not your mate.” Austin said in stern voice.
“MINE.” Steven growled at him and buried his face in the crook of my neck.
Austin cursed under his breath. I just couldn’t wrap my head around what was happening. All of a
sudden, Steven was pushed into the wall and a force field was surrounding him making him unable to
move. I looked behind me to find Cassidy marching towards us, fuming in anger. I haven’t seen her like
like this before. Austin pulled me back but as soon as he tried to push me behind him Steven gave a
very strong push on the force field and snapped his jaws. Woah! Cassidy was pushed back a little by
the impact. He was trying to push against the force field and he seeding. Cassidy changed the
direction and forced him on his knees pushing him on the floor. His eyes never left mine during all this
something.
I made my way towards him ignoring everyone''s protest and sat right outside the force field. He was
following my every move. I ced my hand on the sphere and pushed in. My hand went right inside
without any force or anything. I touched Steven’s face with my fingers and cupped his face, smiling at
him. He nuzzled into my palm. He looked dazed but his eyes were still red. I moved forward and
entered the the force field. It felt the same way when I passed the entrance of the forest where Xander
was. I don’t know why I am doing this but it felt the right thing to do. As soon as I was inside, Steven
pulled me towards him and buried his nose in the crook of my neck, circling his arms around me. I
breaths.
