Chapter 18- Amara


    Caleb and Carter shifted into their wolves and I hoped on Carter’s back. They dashed through the


    woods towards the shifter houses and came to a stop at the edge of the forest. I climbed off of Carter’s


    back and they went behind a tree to shift back.


    “Please stay here. I want to go in his house alone.” I said to them when they came back from behind


    the tree.


    They nodded reluctantly and made themselvesfortable near the forest edge as I started my walk


    towards my personal hell. I knocked on the door of Asher’s house and waited there anxiously for it to


    open. A few secondster the door opened and an older version of Asher looked at me in shock.


    “Amara.” Arthur said looking at me with wide eyes.


    “Is Asher home? I want to talk to him.” I said with a straight face.


    “Yeah… I mean no…e inside.” He spluttered.


    “Who is it dear?” Christine askeding out of the kitchen and froze seeing me.


    I kept my face nk and made my way towards Asher’s room.


    “Wait.” Arthur called out but I ignored him and opened his door to find the shock of my life.


    On the bed were Asher and girl with brte hairying naked, their legs tangled with each other. They


    were sleeping peacefully. The room on the other hand was littered with their clothes. He spooned her


    the same way he used to spoon me. I felt a sharp pain in my chest making me bite my lip to stop


    myself from making any sounds of pain. I got to be strong. I can’t let papa die because of me. I shook


    my head to clear it.


    “Asher.” I called out to him but my voice shook.


    He didn’t move though. I cleared my throat and called him one more time but loudly. That woke him up.


    He looked at me and his eyes widened. I saw guilt in his eyes for a quick second but it quickly switched


    to anger.


    “We need to talk.” I said to him, turned around and made myselffortable on the sofa.


    He came out wearing a sweat pant and closed the door behind him. He sat opposite from me and so


    did his parents.


    “Why?” I asked swallowing the pain it was causing me.


    “Well you didn’t expect me to wait around for you till you got back.” He said scoffing.


    I nodded.

    “So you didn’t care if it would have killed me?” I asked with a straight face.


    I can feel my emotions slowly draining out of me. Is this the same guy who used to love me?


    “Those things are just myths. You can’t actually die from me leaving you.” He said amused. “I mean


    you are still here sitting in front of me. Besides I have been going out with her since months and you


    didn’t feel a thing.”


    “Then why do you think I am looking like this?” I asked.


    “How am I supposed to know that?” he said a little ufortable.


    His parents looked down avoiding my eyes.


    “Well it was nice knowing you Asher.” I said giving him the best smile I can muster and got up to leave.


    “What do you mean by that?” Asher asked confused.


    “I mean that I won’t be seeing you again as you clearly don’t want me as your mate and obviously you


    don’t care if I die so there’s no point talking to you. So this is a goodbye.” I said showing no emotions


    on my face but on the inside it felt like my insides were melting.


    “Why did youe here anyways? You wouldn’t have found out if you wouldn’t show up out of


    nowhere.” He grumbled.


    “Me being here or not doesn’t matter Asher. I felt you cheating on me. I almost died because of it.


    Twice.” I shouted at him. He stood there stunned. “But clearly you don’t care if I live or die so there is


    no point telling you this. I hope you find someone you deserve and who is good enough for you that


    you won’t wish death upon her. Good bye Asher and don’t worry I won’t tell anyone about what you did


    to me but I will have to tell Leo and that’s it. Good luck with your life. I hope I never have to see you


    again.”


    I turned around and opened the door to exit his house but he pulled me back quite roughly.


    “What the hell do you want?” I snapped.


    “What do you mean by you died?” he hissed.


    “Does it matter? It’s not going to change anything. Besides I am not any of your concern anymore.” I


    said pulling my arm out of his grip.


    “Tell me.” he said gritting his teeth. “Or you won’t be leaving this house.”


    “What? Your sleeping around didn’t kill me so you want to kill me with your own hands?” I hissed. “I


    might be weak at the moment Asher but I am not defenceless.”


    “I am not going to kill you.” He said in disbelief. I scoffed. “Well you didn’t die so why are you


    overreacting so much. If this doesn’t work out we can always get back together.”


    A growl left my mouth. Wait…growl? I will figure that outter.


    “Are you even listening to yourself? I am not getting back with you even if the hell freezes over. Stay


    the fuck away from me. I will never forgive you for what you did to us. You can go fuck yourself for all I


    care.” I shouted at him. “I don’t want to cause any problems in the pack so I would advise you to mind


    your own business and leave me alone. We are never going to happen.”


    “How dare you talk to me like that? You are mine. My mate. I own you.” He growled. “I am the third in

    “Respect is not asked for but earned.” I hissed at him. “I am no mate of yours anymore and it’s Alpha to

    I can feel Papa’s power seep through me making him and his parents bow their heads and whimper. I


    turned around and left the house, closing the door behind me. I took a deep breath, trying to control my


    tears. Caleb and Carter came running towards me and engulfed me in a hug and that came to be my


    undoing. I sobbed in their arms as they guided me towards Leo’s house.
