Chapter 3: Loud Heartbeat


    The pain in my leg vanished gradually after I turned into a human, I tried walking but started limping.


    “What did that bitch do to me?” I cursed.


    Upon my arrival at my truck, I saw a note stuck on the door to the driver''s seat. It read,


    “You are to report to the police station tomorrow morning to report on the ident that just urred or


    as a possible criminal. If you don''t abide by the rules, you would be arrested for refusal of arrest and


    sanctioned in the court room. ”


    It irritated me so much that I had wanted to tear the sheet into pieces but stopped because I didn''t want


    to be sanctioned as a criminal when I was only doing good.


    It wouldn''t have been the first time, for getting into trouble for doing good hence my frequent traveling


    from country to another. But I wasn''t ready to move this time, I wasn''t some rich alpha but I was


    respected by all in the pack including those who were richer than I was.


    But then, I became confused, I didn''t know where to report to because I was in the middle of two towns.


    So I decided to report at the police station at the town I was taking the wood to and if it wasn''t the


    ce, I would report to the other in the other town where I stayed for the moment.


    I did as I said I would and reported to the station but I was told it wasn''t where the case was being


    handled. I drove back to the other town and went to the police station but I was told toe the next


    day. They would inform the victim toe and identify me but for the mean time I should go home


    since they didn''t have the evidence to arrest me.


    I went to the boss and reported to him but I ended up being sacked from my job ce because I was


    I got home and got ready to go to bed in the evening but I felt hungry, so I got up and wore a sweat


    pant and tee-shirt and walked out of my apartment. I was trotting to my favorite restaurant which took


    me five minutes from my apartment but this time, I was taking way too much time for my liking.


    I got to this particr building and heard a strong heart beat from it and I knew that the person in it was


    too afraid for his or her own good. I walked past it but it was as strong as it was than before, I intended


    to ignore it but I couldn''t go forward again.


    “Damn, this intent to help had rendered me limp a few hours ago but here I am going at it once again. ”


    I cursed loudly but suddenly turned to look at it.


    I knew that going through the front door was like looking for trouble, so I searched for another way to


    get in. I saw a window not very far from where I was and it was where the heart beat wasing from.


    It was my only way in so I jumped andnded on the building after I had released my ws, then I


    smelt a stench of blood too. I hoped the person in there was alive, and I jumped once again and this


    time Inded by the window. I swung my self and hit the window as hard as I could and it broke up


    open then Inded in it on my one knee.


    As soon as I entered my leg ached in pain but I ignored it as much as I could and searched for the


    person. I saw a huge cage in the middle of the dark room with only the the light of the moon that


    peeped into it. Then I saw a little boy holding the bars and watching me, but nothing of his expression


    showed fear but only wonder. But then his heartbeat was destroying my ear drums which surprised me


    greatly, if he wasn''t afraid, then why the loud heartbeat?
