Hailey''s POV
"What did you just say about your alpha and luna?" Jaxon asks Azuri, his face had suddenly contorted
to one of anger and Azuri trembled in front of the man she just bared her heart out to.
"You forget your position and I let it slide because we are friends before any of this happened," Jaxon
says pointing at the two of them.
"I now see how that was a big mistake on my part. Allowing you to speak freely to me has allowed you
to disrespect my mate, my parents... generally the people way above you in ranking, and with your
training, that is a little disappointing." Jaxon scolds, Azuri sitting back down and pouting like a child.
"Jaxon..." I try to say but it seems he had a lot to say to Azuri as he didn''t even turn to face me when I
called out to him.
"Azuri, I could have you killed for spewing such nonsense!" He says and Cayden sits back down now
that I was in no danger.
"Oh go ahead! That would be better than having to live through a lifetime where I get to watch the love
of my life sail off into the sunset with somebody else. To hell with this, to hell with you and your weak
ass mate!" She screams out loud and stands up to walk away but Jaxon grabs her by the elbow and
she stops, her face softening.
"You don''t get to just walk away." He says through gritted teeth.
"We are clearly here to watch the lovers fight. Nothing you have said or done right now has helped you
and Hailey in any way... It has only ignited a fire Hailey and I can clearly see is very much alive in the
both of you... A fire that you seem to be addicted to. You could have just let her walk away because
your main priority is Hailey but that is not the case is it? She knows the right buttons to press to have
you choosing her every time over your own mate." Cayden says, standing next to me this time.
Jaxon let''s go of Azuri, angry once again but this time, it was at Cayden.
"What are you saying, beta?" Jaxon asks, walking closer to Cayden.
"You heard me. Yourck of respect for My Alpha is very evident to anyone willing to pay enough
attention and I cannot allow it, not in her ce of residence. You speak about having a conversation
that will not be had again but look at where we are, back to square one where Hailey questions your
priorities and kicks you out... You go weeks without talking to each other and therefore dying the
prophecy." Cayden says to him without flinching, even though Jaxon''s wolf was the one looking back at
him.
Cayden moves over to face Azuri, who stood happy with her actions.
"And you, I ought to kill you for the disruption of bnce in this meeting. Your alpha will not be able to
stop me because of your ranking and he can mourn you alone for the trouble you cause my alpha in
her home." Cayden says, grabbing her by the neck and raising her up. Jaxon growls, but as Cayden
said, he can''t save her.
Azuri looks to Jaxon for help but he stays quiet and she finally looks at me, just as time was running out
for her and I ce my hand on Cayden''s shoulder. He throws her to the ground. Jaxon had a pained
look on his face and that set me off.
I felt a fire burning inside of me, a fire that was growing, and before I knew it...
"You continue to humiliate me in front of this warrior. Her ce in your world holds nothing to my
position and yet you continue to ache for her somehow. I have done nothing to deserve this kind of
treatment from you." I shout out and he fails to meet my eyes but his body was turned to face me.
Somehow I had released my alpha power, I had finally tapped into it and it was strong.
"You do not deserve the gift of being my mate. You don''t deserve me at all. I take back every endearing
word I ever said to you, I take back all my kisses and hugs. I take back all the fucken time I wasted
spending with you because for what? I have been so good to you and for what?" I say, not noticing the
crowd that was forming in the house once people felt a surge of power in the house.
Jaxon tries to grab both my hands but I step back...
I feel my father''s presence behind me, he touches my shoulders and I recoil, my power going back
inside of me.
"Cayden, take Azuri and lock her up. The damage has been done." I say and Cayden picks Azuri up
and my pack makes way for him.
"What are you doing?" Jaxon asks me and I wipe away my tears to finally look up at him, the fire still
burning deep within me. Together with my wolf, we speak these words to him.
"I warned you. I told you I would have her killed and you did not heed my warning." I say and Jaxon''s
father growls at my words.
"You are just a pup. That is the future warrior who will fight enemies to protect your offspring!" He
shouts and I chuckle.
"Have you been deaf and blind to the actions of your son?" I ask.
"Watch it, little girl..." He says to me and I walk closer to him to show zero fear. The crowd gasps in
surprise.
"You think I want to give your son any of the children now? I am not the woman for him. If you both
think that straying is an offense that is easily forgiven, you have not met the real me." I say and I walk
away, walking past a smug smiling father and out the door.
Somehow the crowd knows to follow me and they walk outside with me.
I take my clothes off, getting ready to shift, releasing my alpha power once again in pride. Jaxon and
his father make it out, standing next to my father.
"I am Hailey, future alpha of this pack and if you think an alpha will bow to another simply because he is
a mera, you are sadly mistaken. A warrior is receable... not a mate but I guess that is a lesson both
you and your son must learn." I say.

My pack grows by numbers and they all walk to stand behind me, my father included. Taking their
clothes off, to stand in solidarity with me.
"Killing one of my own is an act of war!" Jaxon''s father says to me and I smile.
"Be sure of what you speak off, because if killing the woman my mate was once intimate with is an act
of war then let us go to war. Just know this, it will be the end of Jaxon and me." I say, their eyes bulging
in surprise at my words.
"Jaxon, the prophecy requires a womb toe to fruition. I don''t recall any Shera''s that carry the same
gift as me and I also don''t recall the male wolves unable to give children... You can go and fuck as
many women as you want, just know that I only need one toplete what I was tasked to do." I say
before shifting into my wolf and running to the forest, where Azuri waited for the ending of her life.
My pack shifted into their wolves and followed me.
