    CHAPTER 18: The Comeback


    SEEING THE WOLVES looking at Lilian makes her burst out inughter. They are obviously checking


    her out like she''s some random celebrity. It was obvious that they were admiring her looks. They even


    heard them murmuring that maybe she''s a Luna from a known pack.


    "Who is she?"


    "She''s a new face. Maybe she''s a Luna from the Genesis Pack."


    "Yeah, maybe. The Alpha from that pack hasn''t introduced his Luna yet."


    "I must admit that she''s pretty and sexy. Look at those curves!"


    Lilian smirked on what she heard. Even the female wolves are talking about her. She looked at Calista


    on her side. It was obvious that some of the wolves were looking at her with their mocking expressions.


    But instead of being affected, she remained elegant and just raised her brow to everyone who would


    nce at her direction.


    "Oh, Calista! This is the second time that you attended this event!"


    Calista''s nce went to the voluptuous female wolf wearing a burgundy revealing gown going in their


    direction. Lilian is not familiar with her but based on the expression of the other wolves, this wolf is a


    higher ranked wolf. It was obvious that some of the wolves were intimidated by her presence.


    "Florence," said Calista with her serious expression. "Good evening," Calista greeted formally. Lilian


    suddenly sensed the uneasiness on her face but it was masked by a small smirk on her lips as her


    brow raised a bit looking at the woman named Florence.


    The woman that Calista called Florence giggled. "The ever formal and stiff Calista! What''s new? How


    are you? Are you still the trying hard she-wolf Alpha? Oh, ops!" She giggled again as she covered her


    lips in a sophisticated manner, like she didn''t try to offend Calista through her words.


    Lilian pursed her lips on what she heard as she tilted her head a bit. It was obvious that this woman


    named Florence was insulting Calista through her words. Lilian tried to calm herself to not scratch her


    on the face using her sharp ws. Her gaze went to Calista. She still looked unaffected like the words


    of Florence didn''t even hurt her.


    "Yeah, I''m still the ''trying hard'' she-wolf Alpha of the Midnight pack. At least I''m not the trying hard wolf


    who almost stole someone else''s mate before. That''s more gross, right?" Calista said with a smirk on


    her lips.


    The taunting smile on Florence''s lips disappeared in just a snap after what she heard on Calista. She


    was about to say something again when the big double doors opened again revealing a familiar woman


    with some wolves flocking around her as if they were guarding her. The attention of the wolves went to


    her as she took her way towards the center.


    Lilian tensed a bit as her hand balled into fist seeing the woman again. It was Gianna... the woman who


    humiliated and used her for something that she didn''t do before... the Luna of her previous pack.


    But why is she alone? Isn''t he supposed to be with her Alpha in going here? Why is she with the


    wolves guarding her and not... Alpha Karius?


    Her blood boils just seeing her smiling widely in front of the crowd as if she''s the real main event in the


    party. Lilian couldn''t take how she is able to smile widely like that as if she didn''t hurt someone before.


    It seems like everything has been so easy for her for the past year. And Lilian couldn''t ept it.


    Lilian spent her time training herself to be stronger so that once she faces them again, she''s ready and


    won''t back down anymore unlike before. She had it rough. She can''t remember anymore how many


    bruises she got just so she could learn in her training. She can''t remember anymore how she managed


    to study many things about wolves and other creatures.


    And here is Gianna... who seems to have everyone on her side. It was as if she didn''t have a hard


    time... unlike her. No matter how Lilian denies it, her heart hurts as shepares their state for the


    past year. She clenched her jaw at that idea.


    It was obvious that everyone was admiring her as she waved her hand to the wolves around. She''s


    wearing an outfit almost the same as Lilian but just different in color. They have the same style,


    sweetheart neckline with a high slit on the left leg and it''s also backless but the color is white.


    Lilian wanted to smirk at her outfit. The color white gown of Gianna is very opposite to her rotten


    attitude. It doesn''t suit her. Her wolf is even agreeing to her own thoughts, making her smirk wider while


    looking at Gianna. Her wolf suddenly wanted to brush off the smile on Gianna''s lips.


    "Calm your wolf." Lilian heard Calista whisper beside her, making her calm a bit. "It''s not yet time to


    show your ws. Let the wolves find their mates first."


    Lilian sighed. She didn''t even notice that she was already trembling in anger while just looking at


    Gianna. She tried to enjoy the party and just got wine to drink from the waiter who just walked towards


    her direction. The real party hasn''t started yet but the ce is now a bit crowded since some wolves


    just came.


    "Good evening, Calista! Oh. Who''s this pretty youngdy with you?"


    Their attention went to an old man walking towards their direction, not minding Florence anymore who''s


    just ring secretly at Calista before leaving them. The old man was being assisted by two other


    wolves beside him.


    "Good evening too, Alpha Facundo. We met again," Calista replied and shook hands with the old man.


    "Oh, this is Lilian... my daughter." Calista slightly pulled Lilian''s waist a bit beside her.


    Alpha Facundo is the Alpha of Nirvana pack from London. He''s mateless and still didn''t pass his


    position as an Alpha to his next sessor. But even though he''s mateless, his pack is famous since


    they had the most powerful within their pack, making everyone fear them.


    "Your daughter? You found her?!" There''s a hint of shock on the old man''s face that Calista called


    Alpha Facundo. It seems like he''s also close to Calista based on his tone, Lilian thought.


    "Yeah. You said earlier that thisdy beside me is pretty, right? Where do you think she got the looks?"


    Calista smirked at him.


    The old man chuckled loudly making the other wolves look in their direction, gasping like what they saw


    was a rare moment. "Yeah! I could see the resemnce very much. But her aura screams like your


    mate," Alpha Facundo said. "I''m sure that man is very much happy for you and your daughter now. Oh,


    I suddenly missed that idiot." Heughed loudly but Lilian was able to see the hint of sadness in his


    eyes.


    Calista smiled, a sad one remembering her mate again. "That... I''m sure he is."


    Lilian didn''t dare to talk anymore. She separated from Calistater on to look around. She''s wondering


    if she could see more familiar faces on this night. She had seen some popr wolves everywhere in


    the party that she just learned their names through the book that she had read before and she was


    actually amazed by that. This party is indeed a party for high caliber wolves.


    Calista talked to other wolves while Lilian was just wandering around and observing everyone. Inside


    Lilian''s head, she was actually looking for someone that she didn''t see ever since she came here


    earlier.


    Suddenly, she heard murmurs from the female wolves making their head turn to the entrance where a


    man came with an oozing sex appeal. It was... him... and he''s with his Beta.


    Calyx and... Alpha Karius.


    Lilian straightened her back at the sight of him again. Instead of the fast beating of her heart and


    butterflies in her stomach, she couldn''t feel anything but rage and anger towards him and his pack. He


    looked dashing and handsome in his ck tuxedo making the female wolves ogle at him, even the old


    ones. And to Lilian''s surprise, the color of his tie matched her dress! It was as if they decided to wear


    the same color for this night.


    She shook her head disappointingly when she thought that she shouldn''t make a big deal out of it! It''s


    just a tie!


    The masters of ceremony even announced his arrival like he''s a very important guest for this night.


    Everyone pped their hands looking at him.


    Alpha Karius was just looking seriously around. His Alpha aura can be felt in a few distance that every


    wolf that he looked at will look down, scared to meet his gaze. even Lilian could feel how his aura


    changed for the past year. It was heavier... and more ruthless this time. It was as if she gained more


    power.


    Lilian couldn''t help but to notice his appearance now... on how his looks and features changed a bit.


    His muscles and build became more rough this time, like he poured his attention on making himself


    physically fit for the past year. He grew stubbles on his chin, making his features more ruthless than


    before. He still has that dominating aura. His jaw is clenching as he was just sporting his usual serious


    expression. Even Calyx beside him also looked serious.


    He was looking around when suddenly Lilian met his gaze. His brows furrowed until his eyes suddenly


    widened as he looked at her. His mouth hangs open like he had seen a ghost.


    "L-Lilian..." She could read how he mouthed her name and as an answer, she smirked tauntingly at him


    as she sipped on her wine seductively.
