    She moves so that she is sitting properly in her seat again before her gaze meets mine. "I unfroze


    them. And honestly, I have no idea how I''m doing that or where my newfound gifts came from," she


    replies with a shrug.


    "Why didn''t you tell me?"


    She sps her hands in herp and fidgets with them nervously as she looks down at them. I reach out


    and ce my hand over hers and her gaze moves back up to me. Her violet eyes shine like amethysts


    as they search my face, though I have no idea what she is looking for. She lets out a sigh before


    answering, "I uh... I just didn''t really know what to say. A couple of weird things happened, but I didn''t


    know what it was or if I''d imagined it. I wouldn''t have even known where to start if I had wanted to tell


    anyone. And really, what happened at the castle is the first time I was able to use my abilities on


    purpose."


    "When did you start thinking that you might have some unknown powers?"


    She looks down and clears her throat as she starts twisting her hands in herp again. When her gaze


    returns to me her lip quivers and her eyes glisten. "When Ray... when he was on top of me... when I


    realized that he... what he wanted to do..." she struggles to exin. I instantly know what she is trying


    to say and a low growl rumbles through my chest. I reach out and pull her into an embrace as I wrap


    my arms around her. Just the thought of that bastard and what he had done to her, what he had wanted


    to do, makes my blood boil. I can only imagine what she is feeling right now, how hard it is for her to


    talk about him. At least he is now burning in the depths of hell. Now I need to send Lucien there for his


    sins against her.


    That sick fuck ispletely obsessed with my gorgeous mate. I can''t say I me him. She is


    magnificent, but that certainly doesn''t excuse his behavior. He has vited her in so many ways now.


    He had her kidnapped and had nned to make her his own. Clearly that witch was trying to do


    something with our mating bond. My mark on Scarlet looks fresh as though she had been reversing


    time to make it disappear. The mating bond has always been cherished and respected by all


    werewolves. It is sacred, a gift from the Moon Goddess herself. And Lucien has just spat on it.


    We continue our way in silence as my hands soothingly rub up and down her back. I kiss her temple


    and gently caress her cheek as she looks up at me with her mesmerizing gaze. "I love you Ethan," she


    murmurs to me.


    "I love you too my angel. More than anything. You are mine. And I am yours. Forever and always," I


    reply back without hesitation. No matter what I will not lose her, even if I have to burn Silver City to the


    ground.

    We arrive at Kane Enterprises in thete evening and immediately retreat to the privacy of our room. I


    open the door for her, allowing her to enter first before following. I instantly reach out, wrapping my


    arms around her waist as I pull her towards me so that her body is flushed with mine. Bending my head


    down, I bury my face in the nook of her neck and breathe deeply as I inhale her scent. The effect


    soothes and calms me and my wolf. Ever since we found Scarlet, our anger, anxiety, and jealousy has


    us feeling restless. Just the thought of Lucien and what he had done makes my wolf growl ferociously


    in my head. We both hated that Lucien had touched and kissed our mate, that he had seen her bare


    body, sprawled out to him like a gift. I can''t wait to get my hands on him. He can''t be allowed to live


    after everything he has done.


    Images of Scarlet begin to fill my head, making me tighten my grip on her. There had been so many


    portraits of MY mate in that room, all of them erotic andpletely indecent for anyone else to look at.


    And that gown that she was wearing, if you can even call it that, showed everything. I could see the


    silver and leather straps that hung from the bedposts. It wasn''t hard to put the pieces together and it
