Evelyn POV
One disaster after another. Wake up arguing with my mates, get to work Imogen was distracted.
We shut too early, too much going on and Imogen I could tell was worried about her sister. I was
struggling to remain focused and dropped three trays before giving up and closing the shop. Laura
looked a little disappointed but we were only going to cause more damage by staying. I check the
mailbox before walking through the front gate. I could see Rnd next to my car.
He stands up from doing something and as I get closer I see he was putting a new tyre on. "You
didn''t need to, I would have done it" I tell him as he tightens the nuts on it.
"No it''s fine, I am sorry about this morning" he says looking up at me. I bend down kissing his lips,
my hands running down his hard chest before I stand back up.
"I''m sorry to" I tell him.
Looking around I see Orion''s car is gone.
"Where is everyone?"
"Orion took Mara to some ygroup thing, Thaddeus is inside" he says before standing having

He drapes his arm across my shoulders pulling me to his side as we walk toward the house.
"Why are you home early?"
"Argh just not a good day" I tell him.
"Maybe hire someone to take over for a bit, have a break. Imogen was telling usst night she
needs time off, she wants to help Amara find Bianca" I nod maybe it was a good idea.
"You didn''t work today?"
"No, Theo will handle everything"
We walked inside and Thaddeus was reading a newspaper, his foot propped up on his knee as he
focused on the page drumming his fingers on the table.
"Your back!" He says cing his paper down.
"Are you two good now?" He asks, looking at Rnd who shrugs before kissing my temple and
walking to the sink to wash his hands.
“I’m going to go shower” I tell them when my phone starts vibrating in my pocket. I pull it out
ncing at the screen before answering.
“Hey Eve”
“Hi what''s up” I asked, finally recognising her voice, I really needed to put her number in my
phone.
“Did you ask your mates yet?” She says making me look at them before remembering she wanted
me to go out with her. Both of them look at me hearing her voice mention them.
“No I just got home”
“Well let me know, I wille pick you up” She says.
“Go if you want,” Thaddeus says, making me look at him.
“Hang on a sec Laura” I tell her, pulling the phone away from my ear and cing it on mute.
“Where does she want to go?” Thaddeus asks.
“Some bar” I tell him and I see Rnde stand behind him. I was a little shocked they would
even entertain the idea.
“Do you want to go?” Rnd asks and I shrug, not really caring either way.
“Then go, just ring and I will pick you up. I don''t want you driving drunk and stick to the human bars
please” Thaddeus says.
I unmute the phone. “You there” I ask as I walk up the stairs.
“Yep, what did they say?” She asks.
“Said to stick to the human bars”
“Are there non-human bars?” She asks and I chuckle.
“I will pick you up at 7, just send me your address” She says.
“Yep will do” I tell her before hanging up, I quickly send her my address before cing the phone
on the sink basin.
Stripping my clothes off I turn the shower on before stepping under the stream. The room fogging
up as it fills with steam. I wash my hair and am nearly finished when Thaddeus walks in stripping his
clothes off. “Can I join you?” He asks, opening the door.
“Yes of course” I tell him, moving over and letting him step in. His hands instantly go to my hips as
he kisses my shoulder. “Stay away from the bar and clubs on main,” He says and I turn around to face
him.
“Why?” I asked, confused.
“Most of them are werewolf bars, but they haven''t got a very good reputation anymore” He says
and I nod.
“Keep your phone on you too” I nod.
“You are aware I am not human, I am pretty sure I will be fine, Thaddeus” I tell him.
“Yes I know that but you''re not much of a drinker, and you never go out. I just worry is all” he says,
kissing my head.
“I’ll be fine and if i’m not you will feel it anyway” I tell him, wrapping my arms around his neck. His
hands moving down my sides to my ass before he squeezes my ass.
“Ah ah, Orion is in a ygroup. Not a ce to get a hard on” I tell him and he chuckles kissing my
lips.
“I suppose you''re right,” he says, grabbing the soap. I watch his hardened muscles as he washes
himself, the room filling with his scent. My gums tingling as hunger takes over. I go to hop out when he
stops me pulling me back in.
Thaddeus crushes me against his chest before gripping my hips and lifting me, he pressed me
against the cold tiles but I could barely feel them. “What are you doing?” I ask him.
“You need to feed,” He whispers.
“Yeah but I can’t off you,” I tell him and he seems to think and I could feel he wanted me to feed off
him, feel the darkness calling to me just as much as it calls for him.
“You want me to take it, don''t you?” he says nothing, just kisses me.
“Not if you can’t handle it?” he mumbles against my lips.
“Can you wait till Orion gets home?” I ask him when I realise why he didn''t want to give it to Orion.
“You don’t like him having it around Mara?” I sigh,
“You don’t have to, I can burn it off” He says but I shake my head, knowing how badly that could go
if he tried. I knew I shouldn’t, knew how addictive his blood was, how cold it is but I could see him also
struggling to contain it.
I kiss his jaw and he groans, pressing himself against me as I kiss and suck on his skin before
feeling my fangs slip from my gums, the points pressing against his skin and I feel him rx like a
weight ising off.
I sank my fangs into him, his blood sickly sweet and so cold it made my fangs ache. Ip at his
skin feeling the dark tendrils slipping from him into me, writhing throughout my body and encasing
around my soul, bleeding into me promising everything and nothing at the same time. High, that’s the
feeling his blood gives me, a feel of weightlessness like I was invincible as I floated higher into the
depths of his darkness. I feel it leave him, his blood taking on a warmer feeling as the darkness leaves
him and moves into me. I pull back and giggle as I feel it tickle my insides, tickling every nerve ending
and awakening them.
“You okay?” He asks worriedly and Iugh, the sound slightly manic but makes meugh louder as
it echoes throughout my head. “Evelyn?” He asks as my head goes back on the tiles.
“I’m fine, Thaddeus it just tickles” I tell him high as a kite on his blood.
“Come I will make you dinner before you go”He says, shutting the water off before grabbing us
both towels. I wrap mine around me following him into the bedroom. Grabbing some jeans and shirt I
also grab my leather jacket and knee high boots. I stumbled as I walked to the bed, the floor looked like
it was moving under my feet. I sat on the bed heavily wondering why his blood was so much stronger
this time.
“Have you been using your magic?” I ask him, getting a sudden head rush.
“A little, are you alright or not?” He asks as I feel a shiver run up my spine.
“I’m fine, it will wear off in a bit. I am okay, just stronger thanst time” I admit. He quickly dresses
before helping me dress.
Walking down stairs, I grab a ss of water. Orion walks in about half an hourter with Mara in
his arms.
“Hey princess” I called to her and she rushed over before looking up at me.
“Where are you going mummy?”
“Out with Laura” She pouts before rushing off to the living room.
“Out where?” Orion questions.
“ A bar” I tell him and he walks over gripping my face making me look up at him.
“Why does she feel high on drugs, have you taken something?” He asks, looking at me. I shake
my head and his eyes dart to Thaddeus.
“You let her feed on you, when she is about to go out?” Orion says and I could hear the anger in
his voice.
“I am fine,” I tell him.
“No, you are not fine, I thought we said she doesn''t feed on you anymore” Orion says gripping
Thaddeus arm. Rnd jumps up pulling Orion away and I could now see why Thaddeus wanted me to
feed off him, Orion was usually very patient but even he has had his momentstely.
“You''re not stable” Thaddeus tells him.
“And she is?” Orion questions.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I ask but he doesn''t answer, instead turns back to Thaddeus.
“You don’t let Mara out of your sight, Orion. You’re paranoid, you think I don''t hear you checking all
the doors and windows during the night, constantly checking Mara. Your losing it, I just thought it best
to skip every now and then”
“Fuck you!” Orion says storming out of the room toward the living room where Mara is.
“Orion, I am not doing it to hurt you” Thaddeus calls out but Orion doesn''t answer.
“I can stay if you want, I can cancel” I tell Rnd and Thaddeus. Rnd shakes his head.
“No, go have fun. He will calm down, I think he is bing a little addicted to Thaddeus’s blood”
Rnd says looking to the living room.
“Addicted?”
“Yes Orion has been feeding off Thaddeus daily” Rnd answers, making me confused.
“What but why is your blood so strong, if he is feeding off you daily?” I ask. How much magic has
he been using and what for? Thaddeus sighs.
“Mara’s powers have been unnaturally strong. Love. I have been masking her, preventing her from
using them and absorbing it, why do you think her tantrums are getting worse, her magic is
manifesting. Has been since the ident”
“And you didn''t think to say anything”
“We didn''t want to worry you, she hasn''t been strong enough to actually use them until she started
the fire the other day”
I was lost for words, I was angry that they were hiding it from me but at the same time I knew it
wasn’t to hurt me. But I felt like shit not noticing my own daughter''s powers growing right under my
nose.
I helped get Mara ready for the night and gave her a bath and dressed her after dinner. When 7
oclock came I heard a knock on the door as I was getting her settled in bed.
“Evie your friend is here” Rnd says, singing out from the door. I tuck Mara in and kiss her head
when she grabs my hand. “Mumma dont go, stay” she cries.
“I won''t be gone long, I will be back. I will ask daddy toe read to you” I tell her and she nods
tears rolling down her face as I leave.
“I will do it” Orion says as I step out her bedroom door, a book in his hand. He pecks my cheek.
“Be safe” He says before walking in and shutting the door behind him.
I walk downstairs and see Laura standing awkwardly in the entryway. Thaddeus watched her,
peculiar expression on his face. Laura had a blue mini dress on that left nothing to the imagination.
“Aren''t you cold?” I ask her.
“A little but the alcohol will help that, you look dressed” She says at myyers of clothing covering
me.
“I will meet you in the car” She says, turning and walking out. I go grab my handbag off the
counter.
“She is dressed like a whore” Rnd says. I roll my eyes.
“Don’t act like you didn''t enjoy the view” I tell him. As I go to walk out though, Thaddeus grabs my
arm.
“Be careful,” He says ,making me worry.
“Huh, what got into you?”
“Nothing I just can''t read her, she is like a nk canvas and I don''t like it” He says, making my
brows furrow in confusion.
“You worry too much I will be fine” I tell him standing on my tippy toes and kissing him.
“Ring me, I don''t want you getting in a car with her drunk” Rnd says and I nod and he kisses my
forehead. I walk outside toward her car. She was texting as I hopped in.
“Ready?”
“Yep let''s go” I tell her and she puts the car in reverse pulling out of the driveway.
