Ang’s POV
The existence of Darius‘ father in the world was a danger to our pack. He was ready to sell everything and everyone out even when he was the Alphi of the Pack. Imagine what he would do now that he doesn’t give two shits about us.
For the past three days. Darius had started investigating how his father was able tomunicate with his mysterious stepbrother. Only four people knew of his father’s existence aside from me and Darius. Charles, Azalea, Stanley, and Mason. Whatever way the man had called his brother, one of us had helped him out and every one of us became a suspect aside from Darius himself.
“Are you
you okay, Ang? You look deep in thought,” My mom touched my shoulder. I turned to her.
“I’m okay, Mama”
We were at the hospital that afternoon. My mom hadn’t been feeling too well so I had to take her to the hospital.
“Are you sure? You can tell me anything.”
I shook my head. Ti good, mama. I’m just pregnant,” I announced
I hadn’t told her yer for different reasons but I realized there was no need to keep the news from her anymore. Her mouth dropped open and her eyes went wide: She
e stared
at me in silence for a few seconds. I couldn’t helpughing “This is such great news, Ang,” my mom said. She was beaming with great joy and it was good to see her so happy.
I know, mama,
“Goodness gracious. I’m so happy for you and Darius
“Thanks, mom. I’m d you’re happy,”
“Of course I’m happy. Don’t be silly. This calls for a celebration”
I stopped her, “It doesn’t. Wait until the baby is here. Reina is already feeling bad about the whole pregnancy news”
o have
She nodded. “It’s normal. You and Brittany almost killed each other while you guys were growing up. You kept on asking me why I decided to another child, especially one like her. I’m sure Reina would do just fine.”
I agreed
Brittany and I were always at each other’s throats growing up. Fighting like a cat and rat. The first time I’d gotten drunk and sneaked into the house. at night, she’d seen me. I thought she would snitch to my parents but to my surprise, she didn’t. If I had known, I would ve confessed to my parents rather than trusted Brittany because, for the four months that followed, Brittany threatened the life out of me and got away with a lot of things just because she knew my secret.
“If we can’t have a party, can we at least have dinner with Darius family?”
I smiled. “Sure, dinner wouldn’t hurt but no one would mention the babies since Reins would be
present
“Don’t spoil this girl to…” she suddenly stopped.
“Thad you say babies?”
“Something like that but it’s still a secret. We haven’t told anyone yet.”
She bumped her head like a child and grinned widely at me. “Of course, Of course, the repeated, tapping her feet on the floor.
It was enchanting watching my mom beamed with excitement like that after such long, struggling months. It has been tough on her. “You can go in for your tests now, Mrs Johnson, Halle came out from the doctor’s room and directed
my mom t
towards theboratory.
She took a seat beside me.
“Is her illness serious?” I asked her. Halle shook her head.
“No, it’s nothing serious. We just need to carry out some tests to rule out a few things,” she exined.
Thanks,”
“When are youing back for your ultrasound? She suddenly asked. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
That was when it urred to me that I should’ve gone back to the hospital after a day or two but because Reina already told us I was having twins, nothing else seemed to bother me.
“In a few days.”
“Cool” she became silent. “I ended things with Charles,
To me, that was good news but I couldn’t say that out loud. My feelings didn’t matter, hers did.
“How are you feeling!”
“Not as bad as I thought I would feel. I feel like I let go of a stumbling block that I thought was my wings.”
Iughed. A lot of people around me were more poetic than I gave them des for.
I’m guessing you and Jude are good now,”
“We will be. He saw me kissing Charles and he’s pretty mad at me,
“I don’t me him, I answered sincerely and she pouted,
I’m trying to do my best to get him to trust me,
Trust? “You have to be sincere with him. It’s a big deal trying to get someone to trust you. Sometimes, you’ll even have to hide your true self but that’s a terrible way of going about it. You have to show him your true self so he can see you for who you really know. Let him know how sorry you are as well. Don’t just tell, show,”
“He came overst night because he missed me,
“You guys talked about it then,”
“We didn’t do much talking. Our mouths did..”
I stopped her before she could continue. “I’m not about to hear you talk about nasty stuff. I still have Darius to deal with at home. I can’t listen to you here and still go home and listen to Darius. It’s too much, especially for a pregnant woman.
“Don’t act so innocent. The nasty stuff made you pregnant, she red at me. “TWICE
“Shut up, you bitch,”
Sheughed. “I’m d we’re bing close again, Ang,”
I smiled widely at her. “Me too,”
I waited for my mom while Halle went on to attend to other patients. Once my mom was done, we had to wait for like an hour for the results, Once it was out, we were called in by Halle.
“I thought the male doctor would be attending to us,” I queried.
“Yes, he should’ve been but the issue is a little sensitive. I was thinking we should keep it within ourselves,”
Her statement made me be rmed for obvious reasons.
“What’s going on, Halle? My mom asked and I looked at her. She was in a panic state.
“I promise it’s not life–threatening. So, please take a seat first,”
My mom and I sat down. “We ran a few tests to rule out some things that we thought could be wrong and only one test came back positive. It’s a rare case but we’ve seen it happen a few times,”
“Which is?” I asked.
“Your mom’s pregnant, Ang,
