    She… she had actually fallen asleep!


    “Are you awake? Would you like to rest a little longer?” Jackson’s voice sounded.


    Startled, Serenity looked up at him. “I… I fell asleep Why didn’t you wake me up?”


    “You were sleeping soundly, so I thought I’d let you sleep a little longer,” he replied.


    “But I promised I’d go visit Yanny. I’ve overslept now..” As she spoke, Serenity picked up her phone and


    checked the time. Thankfully, it wasn’t 3 pm yet, but she couldn’t afford to wait around any longer


    before heading to the hospital.


    “You’ve got enough time for a trip to the hospital. I’lle with you,” said Jackson as he put on his


    jacket. He then walked up


    to her side.


    Serenity nodded. She suddenly remembered that her hair was in a mess, so she reached up and


    pulled off the stic hairband. She then grabbed a bunch of her hair and tied it up into a new ponytail.

    The whole process took only 5 or 6 seconds. Jackson was a little surprised by the speed of her


    movements. “Have you always been this quick with your hair?”


    “No. I used to take all day to get my hair right, but during my time in prison…”

    Jackson’s gaze darkened. He nced at Serenity and asked, “Aren’t you afraid that I might be wearing


    a mask all this time?”


    She stared at him for a moment before replying smilingly, “I am someone who has lost everything, so


    you don’t have at reason to maintain a facade toward me. At the very least, I can’t think of a reason for


    you to act that way.”


    “Yeah, you’re not too far off the point.” Jackson smiled at her as he took her hand. “Come, let’s go.”


    Serenity was blissfully unaware that his greatest reason was for her to keep on loving him. Because of

    Serenity and Jackson came to the hospital and located Yanny’s ward. It turned out to be better than

    him on the table next to his bed, hoping he would notice it the moment he woke up.
