    Terry pulled out a crumpled and yellowed piece of paper from his pocket. The words “I’m sorry, I’m


    leaving.” were written on the paper.


    Lisa had left this behind back then. He had been carrying it with him all these years.


    Terry had had several episodes of anger where he had crumpled the paper into a ball and thrown it in


    the trash, but after that, he would rummage through the trash can and retrieve it again.


    The note Lisa had left behind was like a thorn in his heart. He could not remove the thorn and was

    “Lisa Lisa…” Terry murmured her name repeatedly and pressed a kiss on the piece of paper in his


    hand. He seemed to have missed her dearly


    Lisa followed Serenity into Jackson’s car and said to the two, “Thank you.”

    The car drove to Lisa’s neighborhood. When they arrived, Lisa got out of the car and entered her


    house.


    Serenity took the initiative and moved to the passenger seat in front. She looked at Jackson with


    gratitude, “Thanks for the help today.”


    Jackson turnedis head to Serenity, his gaze fixed on hers. The moonlight streamed through the car


    window, lighting up her


    calm face.


    Earlier, Serenity had been on edge with anxiety because of Lisa’s matter. She would do everything for


    Lisa, Including discarding thest shred of remaining dignity she had. She could disregard everything


    just to help Lisa


    Was it because… Was Lisa her only salvation?


    “If I was in danger one day, would you drop to your knees and save me?” Jackson asked in a murmur.


    His croaky voice rang in her ears, causing her to tremble slightly.


    Serenity looked straight into his dark eyes. For a moment, she almost could not resist saying yes.
