    “That’s good,” Patty said. “I was in the shower and left my phone outside. I didn’t hear it ring. d it’s

    After hanging up, Emma turned to Allison. “I think Patty just lied.”


    They were already back home.


    Allison opened the fridge, grabbed a bottle of water, and took a few sips. The cool water geemed to


    rx her a bit. She looked at Emma, “How do you know she lied?”


    Emma was just specting. “Well, when I went downstairs earlier, I stopped by the restroom, and


    Paige was there too. I was in the stall and overheard Paige on the phone with her, saying she saw you


    enter Mr. Sears’ office.”


    Paige was Patty’s spy, which was something Allison had always been aware of. But Paige was also


    Allison’s assistant and treated her quite well overall. She was efficient and got things done promptly.
