CHAPTER 20
Paloma reminded Lilian in the morning to personally advise her VIP visitor about the brunch ce.
Lilian agreed, and at six a.m., she was standing outside Ortega''s guestroom, ready to knock. She
knocked repeatedly till she heard someone approaching to open door for her. "Howdy, Mister-"
Lilian was taken aback when she saw the man who opened the door. He was not just gorgeous, but
exceptionally good-looking, overflowing with masculinity and sex appeal, and the way his deep blue
eyes peered at her entered her whole existence.
"How are you this morning?" Marcus had never seen the woman before.
She replied, "Lilian Murillo."
Marcus nodded in response to Lilian''s introduction. Danie has made no reference to a stepsister
during his brief stay at their house. He was self-conscious about his appearance and it upset him to
have nearly identical results from women, but Lilian was unique and astonishing. To shut her mouth,
he needed to touch her jaw. "Let''s seal this before an insect gets in," he taunted her with a smirk.
Lilian was humiliated that Danie''s ex-husband had to force her to close her lips. What if she has
some tooth decay? Oh, how revolting! "Is that you, Mr. Ortega?" She inquired even though she was
already familiar with his name.
"Nope. Marcus is my name, and Ortega was still showering. "Was Paloma on the lookout for him?"
he inquired.
"It''s a matter of breakfast. My mother requested that I personally tell him of the location. Breakfast
will be provided on the beach; please bring your swimsuit."
"I thought ninjas were not permitted to alter," he confirmed, despite Danie''s ability to lie.
"Of course, that continues to be sessful. Simply advise Mr. Ortega of our conversation and we''ll
meet againter." Rather than returning to her room, Lilian took a detour to meet Danie. She
would not be perplexed as to how the man became her target. She knocked on her door but
received no response, implying that Danie had gone to the beach earlier.
She phoned her mother''s telephone and said that Mr. Ortega was still in the shower and she
couldn''t speak with him directly, but her mother demanded that she return to check on their VIP.
"However, Ma, I have already notified his roommate of the ce and other pertinent information."
She made aint.
"What if the gentleman was illiterate, Lilian?" "Common, return there and inform him yourself,"
Paloma directed.
She waspelled to return just to appease the birthday celebrant. She knocked and, unlike
previously, the door was quickly opened. If she was taken aback by Marcus''s appearance, seeing
Mr. Ortega in person was startling. She was taken away by the man standing by the entrance with
nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. "You!" She swung her index finger at him.
"Lian," Ortega muttered when he saw her again. He wasn''t expecting to encounter Lilian at
Paloma''s party, of all locations where their paths may cross again.
"My mother wanted to ensure that you would be present for breakfast," she said, walking away
before she could copse in front of him. Since he dumped her like trash, she couldn''t stop thinking
about him, and she despised herself for it.
"Wait, Lilian!" Ortega signalled for the woman who was walking quickly but did not nce back. As
he returned inside to prepare for breakfast, he bit his bottom lip.
"What is the matter?" Marcus observed Ortega''s eyes were vacant and mncholy. Earlier, the
gentleman was perfectly fine! He shook his head and turned his gaze away from the grumpy guy.
"I spotted her," Ortega deres as they board the car that would transport them to the shore.
Marcus pinched his brow, perplexed by Ortega''s mumblings. "Who?" he inquired.
Ortega said, "Lilian."
"Ah, so you''ve also met Paloma''s daughter." Are you sure you''re not interested in her? "How about
you, Suzette?" Marcus enquired in response to Ortega''s mention of Lilian.
"In the morning, she looked lovely and fresh," Ortega added.
Marcus wished they had gotten at their destination sooner since Ortega had devolved into a
chatterbox and everything was about Lilian. "We''ve arrived," he stated as the automobile came to a
halt.
The beach was lively and colourful thanks to the event''s outdoor dining setupsplete with
umbres, cabanas, and chaise loungers. Marcus approached Danie as soon as he spotted her.
"Good morning," he greeted her, but Danie responded simply by raising her brows, which did not
deter him. He still smiled at her, as if she had said something lovely. "Were you able to get a nice
night''s sleep?" He inquired since he had not received any. Danie had been on his mind the entire
night, and he was relieved that he had to wear the mask to conceal his worn look.
She arrived early to ensure that the buffet was properly set up before their guests arrived. A
selection of American, Continental, and Filipino breakfast options were put up on the beachfront,
and visitors were encouraged to bring their swimsuits in case they wished to cool off between or
after meals. "Are you blind to the fact that I''m upied?" She snarled at Marcus, who appeared to
take pleasure in taunting her since he arrived. "If you''re hungry, go ahead and get anything you
want, but just keep away from me." She admonished him.
"When did you be so spiteful, Dani?" Do you wish for Paloma to be suspicious of us? "You
should be courteous to all of her guests," he reminded the woman of proper party behavior.
Marcus had a point. If their dispute continued, Paloma would quickly think that something was
wrong, and Danie did not want her stepmother to discover that she lied about his death. "Do not
be naive, Marcus." She reacted to what appeared to be a threat in his inquiry.
"It is you, Dani, who are childish. However, I understand why you have been unable to go forward
until now. Generally, it takes some time for the majority of women to move on from a previous
rtionship." He dered the fact, despite the fact that it was a below-the-belt attack.
What is the matter with him? Who hasn''t progressed? Her? Naturally, this is not true! "That is true
for the majority of women, but not for me, Marcus. You have been obliterated from my existence,
and do not delude yourself into believing that you are significant to me; you are not." She shrugged
and pouted her lips before delivering the most lethal statement she could think of. "Besides, we
merely had sex, which is something that everyone does nowadays." She desired for him to
understand that whatever transpired between them was routine and unremarkable.
Marcus tightened his teeth and red his nostrils in response to her implication that their union was
meaningless to her. He couldn''t yell at her with the entrance of some visitors, so he stepped closer
to her body and murmured, "You screamed for my name when I took you...in the shed." He
reminded her of this, and she reddened.
The audacity of him to bring up that incident! She was remorseful for every minute of it! She
assumed it would be a pleasant recollection, but it was not. It simply troubled her, tormented her,
and kept her up at night. "You know, I may be faking it." She learned online that some women can
feign orgasm and their boyfriend will never discover it.

"I knew it was genuine," he exined as he walked away with a te of food in hand.
