CHAPTER 19
"Why, what is the matter?" Danie discovered Lilian having fun with Paloma''s hairdresser. Jessie
was homosexual, yet he preferred to dress up as a ninja for dinner.
"Marcus is here; why didn''t you inform me of his invitation?" Lilian was challenged regarding the
guest list.
She recalled everyone''s name on the list for many days while it was with her, and she was certain
Danie''s ex-husband was not invited. "Are you sure you believe him?" Perhaps the gentleman was
brazen enough to crash her mother''s birthday party!
"He informed me that he and his buddy, Mr Ortega, had been invited." Danie was aware of Lilian''s
interest in Mr Ortega as a result of the man''s dubious rtionship with Paloma.
Lilian felt terrible for Danie, and now that they were sisters, she would do whatever to assist her
with the charade she began. "Don''t worry; I''lle up with something, all right?" Danie was
reassured.
"I appreciate it, Lil. "I''m perplexed and terrified that they''ll discover he''s still alive," she exined.
"Rx, E. Everything will be OK," Lilian assured herself as she excused herself to speak with
Jessie, who was also the event''s nner.
Next the photo shoot, Jessie went on to say that everyone wearing the ninja costume would remain
in it for the remainder of the event and that a new set of costumes will be issued the following
morning.
When Danie heard the announcement, she wanted to reprimand Lilian for wearing the ninja outfit.
She was, nevertheless, thankful for Lilian''s assistance, despite the fact that herfort was
jeopardized. She surveyed the crowd for Marcus, and when their gazes locked, she averted her
gaze and feigned not to see him.
"Are you looking for me?" Marcus snuck away after catching her searching for him and found a way
to be with her without startling anybody, including Ortega, who was getting intimate with one of
Paloma''s guests.
Danie was taken aback when she heard him talk too loudly near her ears. "Of course not," she
stated categorically in response to his assertion that she was seeking for him. "I just wanted to
ensure that you wouldn''t create any disruption on Paloma''s birthday." As she stated.

"I will not. But I don''t see why you''re so upset by my presence, when we''re not the first couple to
break up, and this was simply a marriage for your convenience," he underlined the word "your"
before convenience to convey to the woman that he was the victim, not her.
"Because they werepletely unaware of the annulment!" She spoke the truth to him.
"I see. "Hmmm, so they won''tin if I spend the night in your room," he taunted her. Danie
was fearful that her deception would be discovered and he would exploit it.
"Indeed you will! In any case, your presence will no longer be an issue. Jessie stated, "You must
wear the outfit the entire time you are here." She reminded him about the promation made
following the photo shoot.
"How long until?" He inquired, since the garment was scratchy and very tight.
As a result, he did not hear the announcement. To be sure, she would be more than happy to inform
him. "Until the celebration is finished," she stated emphatically.
He couldn''t believe Danie had ensured that no one would ever see his face while he was present.
He walked away angry and fled before he could do anything they would regretter. He''d prefer
sleep than squander his time guzzling drinks or ying pool. Danie had destroyed his mood.
"It''s still too early for Marcus to sleep," Ortega replied when he spotted him. "How about you join
us?"
"I''m exhausted, Ortega. You''ve got your key, correct?" Marcus intended to bolt the doorter
because he feared Danie mightmit murder. Her burning eyesmunicated to him that she
was enraged to see him.
"Thank you, but I''ll see youter in Suzette''s room." Ortega said that he was going to be bedded
tonight by the lovely brte with whom he had been intimate since supper.
"Ortega, kindly pause." Marcus approached Ortega after he had ceased walking. "I''m hoping you
don''tmit any scandalous acts tonight. Respect your elders, friend." He said it gently, but Ortega
was well acquainted with him, and it was enough to dampen his enthusiasm for the woman named
Suzette.
Ortega was in a nasty mood following Marcus''s instruction to respect Paloma''s house, and he was
perplexed as to why he cared so much about it. They were only visitors, and he had no right to
reprimand him. He desired rebellion but reconsidered. Marcus is a man who would prefer behave
than risk his head.
His head hung down as he descended the stairs to the gaming room, where the majority of the guys
were wasting time before retiring for the night, when ady dressed in a geisha costume dashed
towards him. She was in such a rush that she missed him, but he picked up on the scent of her
perfume and it was oddly familiar to his senses. He came to a halt in the middle of the steps and
gazed in her direction. Could it be that the woman, like him, was a VIP guest?
Something about the geisha drew his interest, and he returned upstairs and attempted to track her
down, but he was unsessful. He wasn''t even aware of the sound of a neighboring door closing.
Was she a specter? He trembled at the prospect of the home being pursued and decided, like
Marcus, to simply sleep.
As he proceeded down the corridor to his room, the light bulb flickered on and off, creating an
unearthly atmosphere. Ortega desired to flee, but what if he was seen? He would be a
laughingstock in his field of business if it was revealed that he was afraid of ghosts. He was nearly
there when he caught a peek of the geisha''s skirt and then heard her chuckle. Her voice sounded
as smooth as cotton, or as if she came from beneath the earth. "Marcus!" he yelled out as he
attempted to open the door.
