Lincoln POV
I stand as Elder Thomas looks at Neal and then Amelia. “Elder Thomas and Elder James thank you for
coming.” “Alpha Lincoln exin yourself” Elder Thomas says with anger in his voice. Elder James just
stays quiet. “Please have a seat and we will exin everything.” “It better be one hell of an exnation
when you have the Darkmoon Luna and Beta sitting in your office.” “I am not the Darkmoon Luna and I
never will be” Amelia says with all the venom she can muster. I turn to look at my mate proud of her
strength before I look back to the Elders. “Amelia” Elder Thomas starts to speak to her but I stop him.
“Please have a seat and listen to her and you will understand what is happening.” They finally take a
seat and I sit back down in the chair next to Amelia.
Amelia POV
I don’t like the way Elder Thomas is treating Lincoln, like he is the one that has done something wrong.
Once Lincoln sits down, I take a deep breath preparing myself to retell this story hopefully for thest
time. “Amelia, I know your confused after everything that Freya said but this was not the way to handle
it” Elder Thomas says. “You do not leave your mate with his pup in your belly.” “With all due respect
Elder you have no idea of what the truth is so please don’t sit there saying I’m confused and what I did
was wrong.” I can see the look of disdain on his face at my words. “Be careful Amelia how you speak to
me” Elder Thomas says. I can see Lincoln starts to squeeze the arm of his chair as his knuckles turn
white. I want to reach over and touch his arm to calm him but I know that’s not a good idea right now.
“My apologies I don’t mean to be disrespectful but I would like a chance to tell you what happened
instead of you simply listening to As’s lies.” Before Elder Thomas responds Elder James answers
me. “Amelia please tell us what happened so we can understand what made you leave your pack and

“I had been having a lot of pain throughout my pregnancy.” “Star and I thought it was just a difficult
pregnancy because never in our wildest dreams did we think our mate would betray us.” “Amelia, As
told us about Freya putting these ideas in your head.” “You would know the pain of a mate cheating”
Elder Thomas says. “If I have never had a mate cheat on me how would I know what the pain feels

please allow Amelia to speak” Elder James says. I can see that Elder Thomas doesn’t like being told

“I was in our room and having pain again.” “I was worried about our pup so I went to As’s office so
we could head to the pack hospital together.” “That’s when I heard them.” “Heard who” Elder James
says. “I heard Freya and As f**king in his office.” “Did you see them Amelia” Elder Thomas asks. “No
but I’m not stupid and I know what I heard.” “They heard me groan from the pain they were causing me
and rushed into the hallway together.” I can see disappointment on Elder James’s face. “I’m sorry that
happened to you Amelia” Elder James says.” “I understand that was upsetting and As is wrong for
what he did but you need to find forgiveness for your mate.” “Mates make mistakes but leaving with his
pup in your belly wasn’t the right choice” Elder Thomas says. “Would you be saying this to him if I was
the one that was unfaithful?” I can see that he doesn’t like my question.
Lincoln POV
I do not like the way Elder Thomas is acting and speaking to my mate. Talon is growling in my mind.
“He is an a**hole” Talon says. “I agree but we need to do everything we can to get the Elders on our
side.” “He is not taking our mate/” “Of course he isn’t.” “I will kill him first Elder or not.” He never
answers Amelia’s question and turns on me. “You should never have allowed another Alpha’s Luna to
hide in your pack Alpha Lincoln.” “Elder Thomas, I have always respected you and all the Elders but
right now the way you are treating Amelia is not eptable.” “Excuse me, you don’t tell me an Elder
what is eptable.” “Thomas enough” Elder James says. “Amelia has made it clear what Alpha As
has done and it is not in our power to make her return to an unfaithful mate even if she is carrying his
pup.” “As is an Alpha and she is still mated to him” Elder Thomas says. I have had enough of Elder
Thomas’s bullsh*t. “She will not be mated to him much longer.” Elder James looks to Amelia “do you
n to break your bond with As?” “Yes, I have already been given a second chance mate by the
goddess and I n on epting him.”
“Amelia that’s not possible you haven’t broken the bond with As yet” Elder James says. “It is possible
because I am her second chance mate” I say without a shred of doubt in my voice. Both of the elders
whip their heads in my direction. Elder Thomas stands “I will not stay here and listen to such lies from a
she-wolf who abandons her mate and an Alpha who doesn’t respect the mate bond.” Elder James
stands turning toward Elder Thomas. “Then by all means Thomas leave, this is no longer your
concern.” I can see that Elder Thomas doesn’t like it but he leaves my office. Elder James sits back
down and so do I. “My apologies for his behavior” Elder James says. “Alpha Lincoln are sure about this
mating?” “I have never been surer in my whole life.” “We both feel it despite her bond not being
broken.” “Amazing, I’ve never heard of that happening in all my years as an Elder.” “Elder James what
about Elder Thomas” I say and he raises his hand. “I out rank Elder Thomas as much as he hates it
and I will be making this decision.” I nod feeling much better knowing that Elder James is on our side.
He turns to Neal, “now Neal why are you here?”
Neal POV
I have a lot of respect for Lincoln and Amelia. I don’t know if I could have stayed so calm with that
arrogant ba**ard talking that way to my mate. “I came on orders from As to bring his mate back to
the pack but once I spoke to Amelia, I knew that I should not be following any of his orders.” “After we
started to discuss how As was being unfaithful to Amelia, I realized that the details of Elias death
didn’t make sense.” “What do you mean Neal?” “Amelia told me that Elias knew that Freya was
screwing around with As before she escaped the pack.” Elder James looks at me with confusion.
“There is no way that Freya killed Elias if he was angry.” “She weighed half of as much.” “He wouldn’t
let her get close enough to stab him.” “What are you saying Neal” Elder James asks. “I’m saying that I
believe As wanted to be Alpha bad enough to kill his own brother.”
As POV
I call Neal’s phone for the hundredth time. I’m going to kill him for not answering me. I’ve linked him
and he has me blocked. My phone rings and I put it to my ear. “Where the f**k have you been?”
“Excuse me” Elder Thomas says. “I apologize Elder Thomas, I thought you were my Beta.” “Don’t
expect to hear from him, he has betrayed you.” “What are you talking about?” “Your mate and Beta are
with Alpha Lincoln in the Nightfire Pack.” Ss is at the surface “why is my mate with that f**king
ba**ard?” “She is refusing to return to you because of your infidelity.” “Elder Thomas” I start to say but
he cuts me off. “Don’t lie to me As I know what you did with Freya but that doesn’t mean that if you’re
not sorry your mate shouldn’t forgive you.” “I am sorry, it was a mistake.” “Freya seduced me.” “I would
never do it again.” “Unfortunately you may not have the opportunity to prove that as Amelia and Lincoln
are saying they are second chance mates.” I growl “the f**k they are, she is mine.”
