When Veronica returned to their table, Katarina wasn''t there. She turned to the Sy Madam and told
her that Rawlf will be arriving.
"Alright, I also wanted to rest so I''ll leave together with you."
"How about staying at the vi for tonight mom. After all, it''s alreadyte", Veronica urged the Sy
Madame.
"Maybe next time. I left my gifts for the kids back at Ny nine mansion. I''ll be visiting them
tomorrow anyway", The Sy Madame named her mansion as Ny nine mansion to attract good luck.
Veronica no longer argued and just let the Sy Madam from indulging in her happiness to spoil the
children with presents.
After some time, she received a call from Rawlf telling her that he''s already waiting at the south
wing parking lot of the building. Unfortunately, Sy madam''s car was parked in the center of the parking
lot, therefore she insisted on walking Sy Madame in the car. She gave Rawlf a call to wait for her a little
bit.
Walking back, Veronica saw a familiar back figure of a man. Her whole body trembled and she
stopped walking to control her emotions. The man already left her view and there was a sharp glint that
appeared in her eyes.
Having to reach Rawlf''s car, she already saw the man outside waiting for her. Her troubled
emotions steadied after seeing the man looking her way. She continued walking at the same time,
Rawlf walked to approach her.
Reaching her, Rawlf then cupped her face and kissed her on the mouth.
Due to the emotions she had earlier, Veronica was extra aggressive as she responded to the
man''s kisses.

could sense something was wrong so he asked,
"What happened?"
Veronica tightened her embrace on the man''s body, taking in his scent that made her feel warm
,fortable and above all else, safe. Veronica shook her head.
"Nothing. I was afraid that Secretary Ryan had sessfully taken you away from me. I''m just
trying to stake my im." Veronica giggled.
Rawlf knew that there''s something more to it and it''s not simple yet seeing her avoid the question,
Rawlf respected this. But that doesn''t mean he won''t be aware of it. He wanted to show her he
respects her every decision but if it''s something he could smell something wrong from, then that''s the
bottom line.
And this time, Rawlf could smell trouble.
He walked back to their car while Veronica was in his embrace.
Veronica looked up over the man when she realized that Secretary Ryan must have seen what
happened between her and Rawlf earlier.
Although they''re a couple and there''s nothing wrong about it, still, the public disy of affection
earlier made Veronica feel awkward.
Sensing her gaze and understanding her line of thoughts, Rawlf smirked, "Secretary Ryan already
left earlier. I''ll drive us home."
Veronica rolled her eyes then smiled. After getting inside the car, Rawlf fixed her seatbelt then
kissed her on the forehead before finally starting the car.
It''s already eleven minutes past eleven in the evening when they arrive at De Oro mansion.
Veronica checked the kids in each of their respective rooms, fixed their nkets and pillow, and
adjusted the air conditioner before finally leaving for the master bedroom. Rawlf wasn''t inside their
room when she entered, ''he''s probably in the study'' she thought.
She took her night gown in the drawer and went inside the bathroom to freshen up.
When she went outside, she saw the man who had just ced a ss of milk on the nightstand
beside her side of the bed. The man looked at her.
"Drink the milk first before sleeping. The temperature is slightly warm, be careful." "I can''t finish it."
"It''s okay. I''ll finish it if you can''t. Just leave it there."
The man then moved towards the wardrobe to take his boxer short and entered the bathroom to
freshen up as well.
Veronica smiled softly as she looked at the ss of milk. She drank the half and left the half for
Rawlf to finish.
Afterwards, heid her body on the soft bed and sighs in relief.
It''s not that she already forgot what she saw earlier but remembering that Rawlf is beside her, she
quickly recovered. After all, she''s nothing like that emotionally and physically weak woman from four
