Aalam woke to the sound of thunder, a storm occurring outside the mountain holding the soul well, but he didn’t open his eyes. With his Void Sense skill he could tell someone was sitting in the hallway, and, with a quick check of his bond with Mila, he confirmed it was her.
He really didn’t want to talk to her, however, so he decided to delay, taking a while to take stock of his situation.
First, it was very unlikely he was dreaming. While many of his dreams had involved fantasy elements, none had ever had him falling asleep only to wake up in the same situation, so it seemed the world really did work like a litrpg and he was now an incubus.
All things considered, minus the death and danger, that was pretty cool.
Second, Diana’s illness had almost certainly been caused by the rising mana on Earth. Given the high grade of his two uniquenesses, Diana’s first uniqueness had likely been a powerful one and, if it greatly boosted Endurance, Magic, or Spirit and her relevant soulstructure was Colossal in size, it could cause a resource overrun effect, her symptoms especially similar to mana overrun.
This was of course taking as a postulate that all the information the Yin Yang Sage had given him was accurate, but so far everything he’d been able to confirm had been, so, at least until a new source of information presented itself which caused a contradiction, it seemed reasonable to take everything from the Yin Yang Sage at face value.
This meant, as long as she hadn’t been killed due to the danger of an apocalypse style integration, Diana would still be alive. And that made Aalam start to smile.

Third, he was effectively a psychic Bruce Banner and he needed to figure out how to deal with his Hulk side. Were it not for Mila, he would have died two or three times just from being an idiot.
Fourth, he’d killed several hundred people during the tutorial, real life humans from Earth. Granted, like him, they’d already died, so, technically, he’d just stopped them from being revived as monsters, but that didn’t make things any better. Those he’d killed in the Capitol building, however, would also have been revived, so in total he’d killed quite a few less people than he’d thought.
Thinking about it a bit more, of the people he’d killed in the tutorial, all but maybe seven or fewer would have died anyway, so he could lower the weight on his soul. He just had to not commit mass murder again in the future.
Fifth, he was now more intricately linked with Mila than ever before, even back when they’d been alive and living together, and that made him feel sick. He’d been able to close off the emotion transfer aspect of their bond already, but she would have been able to see the System message showing the advancement of his Law Egg of Bonds, so she likely already knew he was awake.

The strength of his soul had almost doubled since he’d fallen unconscious, his rate of absorption of the energy from the soul well meaning he’d likely been out for around 78 days, yet Mila had taken care of him all that time, finding him lust filled souls.
The other odd thing about his status was his Hunter of Sentients boon. A boon of level 10 usually required killing 512 people of your own rank, yet he’d only killed that one beastman. He quickly tried to figure out what was going on and then he noticed he had 82 slaves he’d never formed a bond with himself and they were all to the west.
His Territory had also increased in size, his Prince uniqueness providing him with four times as many bonus stats as before. It was still nothing compared to the maximum the uniqueness could provide, but it seemed Mila had been busy.
Then, as his Void Sense and hearing picked up Mila was just at the entrance to the soul well, he quickly checked her status as well.

She’d apparently been killing a lot of people, which wasn’t surprising. She was a psychopathic assassin after all, and he’d given her quite a lot of power.

Just like when he’d first seen her in the tutorial, his mind went to strangling her, and that caused an epiphany. He wouldn’t actually do so, however, and he’d already punched her in the face once during the tutorial.
Physically, that was more than he was comfortable with. Emotionally and psychologically, however, he kind of wanted to break her.
Aalam started chuckling to himself as he got up from the bed she’d apparently made for him and changed into a cross legged position, his body facing the entrance to the soul well, but he didn’t yet open his eyes.
“Hello, Aalam.” Mila’s voice sounded nervous, but that was obviously an affected performance. She could fake pretending to love him for six years, so she could fake anything, and her control over her aura was better, so no supernatural senses would allow him to see through her lies.
There was something strange about her through his Void Sense skill, though. In exchange for its high range and ability to sense through almost all forms of obstruction, the skill didn’t have very good resolution, but Mila’s left hand seemed to be missing.
Aalam opened his eyes and what he saw made him feel a whole host of emotions.
Even after changing race, Mila didn’t look much different. Maybe her breasts were a bit bigger, but it’s not like they’d ever been what people would focus on when it came to her appearance, and, given the race change to succubus or incubus would have someone changing to what they considered ideal beauty, the sheer level of vanity on display was staggering.
Her left hand was completely missing, and half of her forearm was raw, looking like it had recently regrown, which it likely had.
His first reaction on noticing this was a desire to run up and hug her, but he quickly squashed that down and instead focused on the fact his own left hand was bare.
She had taken his artifact. And then she had lost it.
