The birth of a ruler

In a word fill with magic and dungeons, where the powerful and rich rule over the poor. The rich ruled over the poor for centuries. In a far village named Frosthall, a new ruler was born who would soon change the fate of the world.

The sound of a baby crying can be heard.

“It’s a boy,” said the maiden. Tears flowed out from the father’s eyes as he held his newborn son. A sense of pride filled their hearts. “We shall name him Alaric,” the mother said with joy. A year later, Alaric started walking and learning how to say simple words, like mommy and daddy. Another year goes by, and Alaric picks up how to read. At the age of five, he started learning magic and swordsmanship. Before long, at the age of ten, he became very skilled as a swordsman but lacking in magic.

On his sixteenth birthday where he would have attended the academy, everything changed. It was a peaceful night, then suddenly screams could be heard throughout the village. A monster attack. People running everywhere, bodies lying one after the other. This was no ordinary monster attack. The village of Frosthall had always been an interest of a noble. Nobles would fight over themselves and even use sorcery to try and get rid of Frosthall once and for all.

Alaric was that still of a boy. He didn’t possess the power to fight this beast. In a state of emergency, his parents put him on a horse and sent him far away while they stayed behind. Their last words were “We love you Alaric”. Tears fill the eyes of Alaric, anger, hatred, and revenge. All that was behind him was fire and smoke. His horse galloped for days and days until he was nowhere.

The horse had stopped in front of a river to drink, and Alaric was hungry. Haven''t eaten in days, his stomach growl and growl at him. After looking around the best he could find was apples. It would have to do for now he said to himself. Once more he hoped on his horse, galloping away.

Had it been a week now since that accident? This horse and I have been traveling for a week. It wasn''t soon before I found an abandoned village. There seemed that of an entrance but the walls soon fell apart and a big sign stood upside down. At the edge of falling. Inside bodies lay. Some are dead and others are on the edge of death. This reminded me of my past village. While scoping around, I soon was interrupted. An old man, short had long white hair and looked like he was in his sixties.

“You don''t seem to be from here,” he said. I explained to him my situation and how my village was destroyed. He felt bad for someone as young as myself to go through such an experience. His name was Leofric Velemont. One of the few souls fighting in this village. The origin of how this village came to be is also not surprising but by monsters as well.

In a moment I had made a promise to Leofric. I promised him that I would rebuild this village. A promise that soon would change everything
