“I really look forward to eating your food some day..” she uttered as she smiled warmly at him. Then she proceeded to finish her food.
It actually felt so nice hearing from Nn that her food tasted nice after he ate it for the first time and by the way he ate, she could tell that he was enjoying her food a lot.

Sarah’sst words kept ringing in her ears and she found it so hard to forget it. She had begged her to help her family.

“I said I think I’d be best if we visited Sarah’s family..” she repeated.
“We?”
“Yes we. You’re the Alpha. Isn’t it your duty to protect your subjects?” She questioned.
“I’m protecting them..” he implied as he wondered why La wanted to visit Sarah’s family.
“From my best knowledge, Sarah’s was paid to poison me, the person must have found her vulnerable and weak side and used her sick mother as leverage, that’s what she did what she did” La stated.
“So what are you implying?”
“I’m only saying that I want to fulfill her promise. I saw the look in her eyes before she died. She was scared for her family, she really loved them a lot. A fleet of cars pulled up in front of a small old tattered house and Nn and La stepped out of one of the cars.
“Is this the ce? ” La asked as she stared at the house. She instantly felt pity at the poor condition of the environment.
“Yes..” Nn replied as he suddenly held her hand.
“Come on..” the guards in front of them led them to the door and he knocked on it.
At the second knock, a little boy of about five years old opened the door. The moment he opened the door, he had a scared look on his face.
“Hi dear..” La waved with a friendly smile on her face. She could see the way he panicked at the sight of them.
“Can Ie in?” She asked but he kept on staring at her.
“Don’t worry, I’m a friend..” she introduced herself, seeing his hesitation before he slowly opened the door.
“Come on Nn…” La tugged Nn’s hand that was entwined with hers and they both walked into the small apartment.
“Is anyone home?” La asked, looking around, the old but very neat house. Everything was well arranged.
He shook his head indicating a no.
“I’m La, what’s your name?” La asked in a friendly tone. She couldn’t help but feel pity towards the little boy, he looked malnourished and tattered. Above all, he was a cute little kid. She knew immediately that he was Sarah’s kid, they had the same features. ck hair with ck eyes.
“My name is Malcolm..” he replied in a low voice.
“Aww so cute..” La pouted. She couldn’t help but admire his cuteness.
“Come here Malcolm..” he moved closer to hold him and she held his little hands.
“Poor kid..” she mouthed, feeling how thin he was.
“Have you had a meal since this morning?” She asked him and he shook his head indicating a no.
“I’ve not had a decent meal since mom left us. Millie and grandpa went out to look for something for us to eat..” he whimpered almost at the verge of crying. La felt her heart break at the sight of that.
“How old are you?” She asked.
“I’m five years old..” he replied slowly.
“Where’s your grandmother?” La asked, her illness was the reason why all this was happening.
“Grandma is lying in her room. Grandma has also not eaten any food. I feel so bad for her, she’s very sick. I don’t want grandma to leave us like mom did..” he said sadly.
“Come here Malcolm..” she hugged him as she patted his back.
“Nothing is going to happen to you okay?” She assured lifting his chin and he shook his head slowly.
“Do you know him?” She pointed at Nn who had been standing quietly as he watched them.
“No..” Malcolm shook his head.
“Don’t worry, we’re here to take care of you okay?’ she patted his head lovingly.
“Where’s your grandmother?” She asked as she wanted to see her.
“I don’t think you’ll want to do that” Nn spoke out for the first time.
“Why?”
“You don’t want to see the state she’s in..” he said again. He knew about her disease and what possible state that she might have been in.
“Don’t worry. I can handle whatever is there..” she uttered.
“Take me to your Grandma..” she requested. Malcolm was about to take her there when the door suddenly sprang open.
