Year 2045 – The Forgotten Memory Comes to Life


    Night had already fallen by the time Ren returned to his apartment. Despite the city''s modernity, his home was a reflection of his style—small, cluttered, a mix of new technology and relics of the past. Old vinyl records adorned the walls beside a flickering holographic screen filled with unread notifications.


    Ren took off his jacket and tossed his backpack onto the table. The object he had found in the abandoned building was still in his pocket. A small, dusty USB drive, unmarked but carrying an invisible weight that unsettled him.


    He pulled it out and turned it between his fingers. It could be empty. Or it could contain corrupted files, meaningless code... or something else.


    Curiosity. That was his problem. He always needed to know more. What it was, where it came from, what had been trapped within those forgotten bytes.


    He plugged in the USB drive.


    A soft chime sounded. The holographic screen flickered.

    Ren frowned and opened the file explorer. Nothing. He tried accessing it through the command console. A single directory appeared.

    The name sent a chill down his spine. He had never seen an executable file like this before.


    Double-click.


    The screen went black. The cursor flickered frantically. A line of code flashed and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Then, sound.


    Not a system error. Not a glitch.


    Music. A soft, ethereal melody—electronic, filled with echoes and distortions. It sounded incomplete, as if trying to assemble itself in real time.


    The room lights flickered. Ren moved away from the keyboard. Something was happening.


    Suddenly, letters appeared on the screen.


    "...where... am I...?"


    Ren felt a knot in his throat. The file was responding.


    With trembling hands, he typed:


    "Who are you?"


    The reply took a few seconds to appear.

    It was feeling.
