CHAPTER 6

Rose rushed to the barracks, her heart pounding in her chest. A servant breaks a news to her that a man with unusually crimson eyes, and she was determined to see him for herself.

As she approached the barracks, she noticed a man tied to a long timber, surrounded by guards with drawn swords. Rose''s expression remained neutral as she glanced at Matthias, the man at the center of the commotion.

Commander Demi, the Knight Commander of her estate, approached her. "Lady Rose, you should have come here sooner," he said, his voice laced with concern.

"How did you meet this person?" Rose inquired, her eyes never leaving Matthias.

"He is one of our recruits from Aspire Street, Lady Rose," Commander Demi explained. "We didn''t know he was...different."

Rose''s gaze narrowed. "Did he hurt someone?"

Commander Demi hesitated before responding. "While he was struggling, Lady Rose, he injured 10 of our men with his unusual physical strength."

Rose''s eyes widened slightly. "Did someone get killed?"

Commander Demi shook his head. "No, Lady Rose."

Rose approached Matthias, her movements calm and deliberate. Commander Demi instinctively reached out to stop her, but Matthias''s gaze locked onto his, and he froze.

Rose caressed Matthias''s face, and he immediately relaxed. "If he is a dangerous person with incredible strength, he should have broken free and killed me by now," Rose pointed out.

Commander Demi frowned. "But we don''t know what he will do, Lady Rose."

Rose''s expression turned stern. "We have different eye colors, Commander Demi. Should I also tie you up for possessing green eyes?"

Commander Demi shifted uncomfortably. "But he is unusual, Lady Rose. When I first looked at him, he had blue eyes, and now he possesses crimson red eyes."

Rose''s voice rose. "HE POSES NO THREAT."

Commander Demi looked taken aback by Rose''s outburst, but he nodded slowly. "As you say, Lady Rose."

Rose turned to Commander Demi, her eyes flashing with determination. "Commander Demi, you will train him in your excellent swordsmanship and hone him to become a leader on the battlefield."

Commander Demi''s eyes widened in surprise. "B-but, Lady Rose—"

Rose''s voice brooked no argument. "It''s not a request, Commander Demi."

Rose turned to the gathered guards and maids. "Untie him and welcome our new family member. If I hear anyone mistreating him or any of our family, you will be severely punished."

As the guards moved to untie Matthias, Rose turned to Commander Demi. "Commander Demi, we need to talk privately."

Commander Demi nodded, and together they walked away from the barracks, Rose''s maids following at a discreet distance.

Once they were out of earshot, Rose spoke in a low tone. "I want you to double the guards and tighten security."

Commander Demi''s eyes narrowed. "Can I ask why, Lady Rose?"

Rose''s expression turned grim. "I''m sure you heard about the three dead knights."

Commander Demi nodded, Rose continued, "They were sent to kill me by the Crown Prince."

Rose''s voice was laced with venom. "And I killed them." Rose lied.

Commander Demi''s eyes widened in surprise, but he nodded slowly. "Thank the gods you killed them, Lady Rose."

Rose''s gaze drifted to her father''s tomb, where a full-body statue of him stood. "Hmm...yes, thank the gods."

"Everyone loves your family , Lady Rose." Commander Demi said, while looking also at Lord Magrave statue.

Rose''s voice was tinged with sadness as she turned to Commander Demi. "At least they are both together now. They left this place under my care, and I will make it grow."

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

Commander Demi''s expression turned solemn. "Would you be by my side, Commander Demi?" Rose asked, her eyes searching.

Commander Demi''s voice was firm. "Of course, Lady Rose. I am your sword."

Rose''s gaze intensified. "What if I start a war for my father''s name? Would you go to war with me?"

Commander Demi''s expression never wavered. "Yes, Lady Rose."

Rose''s voice dropped to a whisper. "I have a suspicion that my father did not actually die on the battlefield."

Commander Demi''s eyes locked onto hers. "I-I also have a suspicion, Lady Rose. The maids noticed it too. When Lord Magrave returned home for the last time, our Head Maid Anna and the other maids washed his body. He didn''t have multiple stab wounds from the battlefield, but a single stab wound on his neck."

Rose''s eyes flashed with determination. Commander Demi drew his sword and stabbed it into the ground and kneeled one knee in front of her, his voice filled with conviction.

"It was clear that...Lord Magrave died unjustly. If you wish to start a war, I will be by your side."

Rose''s eyes locked onto Commander Demi''s, a fierce determination burning within them. "I will not forget this, Commander Demi."

Commander Demi nodded, his expression unwavering. "I will always stand by your side, Lady Rose."

As they stood there, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the estate. Rose''s thoughts turned to her father, and the injustice of his death. She knew that she had a long and difficult road ahead of her, but with Commander Demi by her side, she felt a sense of hope and determination.

Together, they walked back to the barracks, where Matthias was waiting. Rose''s eyes met his, and she saw a flicker of understanding there. She knew that she had found a valuable ally in him, and she was determined to use his skills to help her achieve her goals.

As they walked, Rose''s maids fell into step behind them, their faces expressionless. But Rose knew that they were watching her, waiting to see what she would do next.

And Rose knew that she would not disappoint them. She was determined to uncover the truth about her father''s death, and to bring justice to those responsible. No matter the cost.

    ***

Rose rested on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. ''It''s a good thing the maids cleaned Father before he was buried. They noticed his wound, and I didn''t need to track out the guy who assassinated Father to persuade the other houses who support Father.'' She thought to herself.

As she lay there, her window door at the balcony opened that made Rose looked and she saw Matthias.

Rose sat on her bed. "I thought something bad happened to you while you were at my estate," Rose said, her voice tinged with concern while Matthias walking and he sat beside her.

"Your place is heavily guarded, Lady Rose," Matthias replied. "I joined your forces and snuck-in. They gave us encouraging words and training until sundown, and they saw my eyes turning into crimson red."

Rose''s expression softened. "It''s fine. It''s one of my plans that you will join my army, with a strength like yours. It shouldn''t be wasted."

Matthias unexpectedly wrapped his arms around Rose''s body, pulling her close. Rose felt uneasy, but she didn''t push him away.

"A-Ahh Matthias, what are you doing?" she asked, trying to sound calm.

Matthias smiled widely at her. "I miss your warmth."

Rose remembered that he had hugged her while they were sleeping before. "Thank you for supporting me," he said. "I thought I was going to die without seeing you again."

Matthias''s eyes locked onto hers. "I won''t let you die." Rose''s voice was barely above a whisper. ''You''re purpose isn''t done yet, so you must not die.''

Matthias nodded, his eyes burning with intensity. "Are you planning to sleep here?" Rose asked, trying to change the subject.

Matthias nodded. "I always want to feel your warmth."

Rose held Matthias''s hand. "You aren''t that cold anymore."

Rose felt Matthias''s lips against her neck, sending shivers down her spine. "W-Wait a moment---"

Matthias''s voice was low and husky. "I heard the new recruits talking at the barracks. They talked about women and what they are doing to them to make them feel good."

Rose''s heart began to pound in her chest. "Do you want to feel that?" Matthias asked, his eyes locked onto hers. "From saving me, I should at least give back the favor." he said.

Matthias''s hands began to roam over Rose''s body, sending waves of pleasure through her. Rose bit her tongue to prevent making a groaning sound.

As Matthias''s lips touched hers, Rose felt herself melting into his kiss. Matthias''s hands cupped her breasts, stimulating her nipples with his thumbs.

Rose let out a loud moan as Matthias''s fangs pierced her shoulder, drinking her blood. Rose''s mind was all over the place, torn between the pleasure and pain.

"M-Matthias, not too much," Rose reminded him, trying to sound calm.

As Matthias finished drinking her blood, his tongue licking the blood off his lips, he began to suck her breasts. Rose let out a loud moan, holding Matthias''s head as he sucked her breasts.

Matthias''s hands began to undress Rose, revealing her undergarments. Rose felt heated, Matthias gently lay Rose on the bed, their eyes locked on each other.

As Matthias gently spread Rose''s legs, his tongue expertly found her sensitive spot, eliciting a loud moan from her lips.

As Rose achieved her climax, she lay exhausted on her bed, catching her breath. Matthias knelt in front of her, his eyes burning with intensity.

But instead of taking her, Matthias got off the bed. "I''m still not worth it, Lady Rose."

Rose looked at him, confused. "Before, I will take you. I want to prove my worth to you. I''m sorry for my actions for this night, Lady Rose."

Matthias sat Rose on her bed and helped her put on her clothes, his hands brushing against hers. "I should go back, good night."

As Matthias''s lips claimed Rose''s in a fierce, lingering kiss, the air was charged with unfulfilled desire, but he abruptly broke away, disappearing into the night through the open balcony.

Rose''s heart still racing from the intense encounter, she couldn''t shake off the vulnerability that lingered within her. "My body betrays me," she whispered to herself, "I shouldn''t let my emotions run wild, but his touches reduce me to weakness, leaving me trembling on shaky knees."
