“Where are you taking me?”

Earnest snorted and raised his eyebrows.

A man beside him said cautiously.
Earnest hadn’t recovered from his injuries. If something happened to him, they would
be held ountable.

The sun was setting, and the evening glow was beautiful.
In the car, Amelie looked out of the window from time to time, trying to find a chance to
escape.
Unfortunately, she was under close watch.
Halfway through the journey, the car stopped.
Amelie opened her eyes and found that they were at a gas station.
She came up with an idea and looked cautiously at the man beside her.
Earnest’s eyes were closed, and his brows were furrowed. He seemed to be enduring the pain from his
wound.
Taking her chance, Amelie leaped out of the car and hid in the bush by the road.
“Ha! Don’t underestimate me.”
She grinned smugly.
“Sir, that woman is gone!”
Earnest snapped open his eyes and looked to the side.
Sure enough, Amelie was no longer there.
“This woman is really not simple.”
“Sir, what should we do? We’ll go and catch her.”
“It’s okay. Let’s go.”
Earnest smiled yfully and then closed his eyes.
Amelie stood up and dusted off her hands when she could no longer see the car.
“Interesting! Who the hell is Mr. Reed? How dare he makes a move on me!”
With that, she walked away.
On the other side of the forest was a temple, where the (g o d) of the mountain was worshiped by local
vigers.
It seemed to be a special asion today, and a lot of pilgrims gathered there.
Amelie followed the trail and came to the gate of the temple.
Besides pilgrims, there were some tourists.
“What kind of ce is this? It has attracted so many people here.”
Just as she was about to step into the temple, a familiar voice suddenly rang out behind
her.
It was none other than Earnest.
Amelie’s pupils dted in shock. Afraid that he would recognize her, she didn’t dare to
look back.
When she was flustered, she saw a small door on the side and quickly dodged in.
“Sir, I have sent someone to chase after her. We’ll soon catch her.”
“All of you will die if you can’t find her!”
Earnest growled.

As the footsteps went farther and farther away, Amelie could no longer hear what they

Amelie moved over curiously and found that it was a golden te with the word ‘Reed’ engraved on it.
