Chapter 109 The Past
Adide was wronged by rissa time and time again, being called bastard by rissa!
Adide’s hatred towards Greyson from the beginning had gradually turned into expectations, hoping
that he could tell people all over the world that Adide was Greyson’s biological daughter. But
Greyson was unwilling to tell anyone that Adide was his biological daughter until he died.
"What?" Adide deliberately pretended to be confused.
Hanna took her hand hurriedly and said, "Adide, I know that you hate your father for abandoning
your mother. I also know how much hardship you have suffered because of being called the bastard.
But now if you agree to bury your mother and father together, how angry will Flora be when she
knows?"
Hanna and Adide were best friends. They know each other’s everything, including some family''s
affairs. After hearing Adide’s mother’s matters, Hanna deeply felt sorry for Adide''s mother. What
a perfect woman! It could be seen from the photo that she was noble and elegant. But she was so
stubborn. When she knew that her husband had an affair with another woman, she was so angry that
she passed away.
Adide’s father refused to defend for Adide, which made Adide feel wronged. Hanna also felt
pity and heartache for Adide.
However, Greyson clearly wrote in his will that he wanted to be buried next to Adide''s mother. Under
Adide''s strong opposition and dissatisfaction, Greyson could only be buried in the same cemetery
as Adide’s mother.
Adide knew what Hanna meant. Flora also came to her several times, saying that Greyson was her
husband and could not be buried with other women. With the time passed by, everyone forgot that
Flora was a mistress. Flora became Greyson’s legal wife. Adide''s mother was only Greyson’s ex-
wife. Even the tombstone was just inscribed with Reba Houghton''s name, not Greyson''s beloved
wife.
Adide happened to hold the same view with Flora in this matter. She felt that Greyson was not
worthy of her mother. As Greyson’s legal wife, Flora refused to agree with that they could be buried
together.
Adide pondered for a long time. Finally, she shook her head. Her mother didn''t want to see Greyson.
Even if her mother went to the heaven, she didn''t want to see Greyson again. Adide would never go
against her mother''s meaning, let alone forgave that jerk.
Upon seeing this, Hanna shook her head helplessly. What Adide did would only make Flora smug.
Adide was stubborn. Her mind couldn’t be changed in a short time. Hanna sighed. The matter
couldn’t be carried so hurry, "All right, we take the shells to see your Mom."
Hanna had always been by Adide’s side during the rock bottom in Adide’s life. During those days,
Adide was so depressed. The only stuff she could talk about was her mother''s tombstone. She often
sat there alone and could chat alone for a day.
Adide nodded. She packed up some things for visiting her mother. When she went downstairs with
Hanna, Da happened to be in the kitchen and was busying with something. Adide felt that
recruiting a new group of nannies was urgent. But she was afraid that Antonio would be unhappy. So
she could only re at Da and sternly reprimand, "The house needs to ventting. It’s so smelly. If
it’s still smelly when Ie back, you will have to leave!"
Adide just wanted to scare Da. After all, Da had worked in the Baron family for so many
years. Adide knew that Antonio would not really want to fire Da, for old time’s sake.
Adide looked back at Da with some warning in her eyes. Then she turned and held Hanna’s arm
to leave.
Today was not some special day. There were very few people toe to the cemetery. After Adide
showed her ID card, the security guards who guarded the cemetery immediately let them in. Then, they
arrived at Reba''s tomb.
There was already a lot of dust on it. Adide calmly took out the broom and swept the tombstone little
by little. Then she knelt in front of the tomb and kotowed a few times. She took out the shells, "Mom, I
"Hello!" Hanna bowed. Adide turned around and leaned on the tombstone. In the early morning of
spring, it was still a little cold. The cold feeling instantly spread to Adide''s body. But she didn’t seem
to feel it. She just picked one shell up carefully and then put it by the ear to listen to, "Mom, these shells
were all picked up by Antonio and me in the Aegean Sea. Each of them can hear the sound of the
sea."
Reba was a very traditional little woman. She was also full of illusions about the future. After
marrying Greyson, she gave birth to her daughter, Adide, soon. After that, she focused on her
daughter and cared less about her husband. Then Greyson indulged in dissipation. So there were so
many women who wanted to flirt with Greyson
Reba heard the story of the shell from the storybook, and then she told it her daughter. The story

was very old-fashioned. A long, long time ago, when there were no humans in the world, shells already
existed in the sea. The shell was a pure-color species in the ocean. Besides, it had never changed its
original appearance during hundreds of millions of years of evolution.
It was said that when the first group of humans appeared, because shells could collect beautiful
sounds, some people took them back home. No matter it was pattern or color, each one was different.
Early humans didn’t know about decoration. One day, a man picked up a shell. Then he found that
there was sound in this stuff. He felt very strange. After that, one girl picked up the same shell. They
seemed to be destined to meet and love each other for the rest of their lives.
Later, more and more people discovered this miraculous stuff. They began to focus on searching for
shells, hoping that it would bring them a beautiful marriage. Gradually, it formed such a story.
Adide’s mother had collected a lot of shells with different colors and patterns at home, but she never
found one which could match her own shell. Adide dropped her head. She put the shell on her
chest, then she whispered softly, as if afraid of disturbing someone, "Mom, I have found so many shells
for you again. You can definitely find the same shell that belongs to you."
The shells were scattered all over the ground. But Adide showed a bright smile, as if she had gotten
the best treasure in the world.
She seemed to be talking to herself, but it also seemed that she was talking to someone. Sometime,
Adide smiled, but sometimes she looked sad. Seeing this scene, Hanna felt so sorry. At this
moment, no matter how sheforted Adide, it couldn''t give her any strength to be strong.
Every time when Adide came to visit her mother, she would be like this. Adide told Hanna as long
as she was lying on her mother''s tombstone, she couldn''t help but think of the stories her mother had
told her and the words her mother had said. When she was a child, she was so naughty. She broke her
father’s red wine which was bought newly. Her mother told her being honest was the most important.
Her mother said that her father would be also very happy as long as she told her father the truth.
Besides, her father didn’t have the heart to punish her.
Adide believed her mother''s words firmly. So when Greyson returned home, Adide held his thigh
and told him that she broke the red wine. But her father said that her attitude was not good. She was
even so happy after she did something wrong. But Adide still said that honest children were the
cutest and Dad couldn’t punish her.
Undoubtedly, Adide was beaten up by her Dad. At that time, she was just the little girl. So she didn''t
know what happened. She cried and told her mother, but her mother just wiped away her tears and
then coaxed her to sleep.
