Chapter 73 The Spring Festival
It was the third snow of this year, and everything was covered with thick and beautiful snow as joyful
pure white cold be found everywhere outside. Adide had been pregnant for a while. She cared for
her baby so much that she was getting more and more careful. Da poured some water at the front
door by ident the other day, and it was got icy overnight. Not noticing the slippery ground, Antonio
nearly slipped and fell. Lucky him that Bruno saw him and held him.
Then Antonio quickly asked Da to clean the ice and she was punished with cleaning the snow on
the path all the way to the gate. Still worried about his wife, he returned to the house and told Adide
to be careful when walking.
It was the eve of the Spring Festival. Bruno had returned home for his family reunion while Da had
to stay with Adide to look after her. But Antonio allowed her to earn four times as much money as
she used to do, as well as go back home after preparing the dinner.
One hand stroking her belly, while the other supporting her back, Adide had been suffering the
hardships of pregnancy.
Antonio had been staying with Adide, which exasperated rissa a lot. She found various excuses
to get Antonio back to keep herpany, while Antonio got too annoyed to answer her calls.
“Grandma wants us to find her as soon as possible.” Noticing Adide was about to pour some water,
Antonio hastily scurried to help her as he loved her very much. Bashfully blushing, Adide was at
unease as Antonio treated her too well.
Adide epted his help since she meant to pour a cup of water for him. Antonio had spent most of
his time in the study though he had been was on holiday.
He touched her face before handing his suit jacket to her. “You’re cold. Be careful not to catch a cold

again.”
She blushed scarlet.
Then she nodded and reminded him of his own health. As they enjoyed the romantic vibe, Da told
them to get downstairs for lunch. For pregnancy’s sake, Adide had more food than she did before.
Taking in all the delicious dishes, she quickly ate hungrily.
After lunch, they snuggled up to each other with a warm nket to kill the time.
As the night fell, the streets outside were filled with various neon lights. Antonio drove his wife to the
Baron family’s.
In a joyfully red cotton coat, his grandmother was waiting in the sofa to wait for them. Adide also
wore her outfit in the same style.
With a bright smile, Antonio’s grandmother said, “I’ve been missing you, Adide.” She nced over
Adide before nodding. “Very good. I bet you’ll deliver a beautiful healthy baby girl this spring.”
Adide appreciated her kindness as many elders preferred baby boys than baby girls. She was
relieved as she knew that Antonio’s grandmother would love to have a baby girl.
After a while, Alvin also brought his girlfriend here. If he weren’t the son of Antonio’s grandfather, he
wouldn’t have been allowed to enter the house. Antonio’s grandmother loathed him very much in that
he was an illegitimate child of his husband.
Of course, the me was on Alvin’s mother who was a mudsill mistress.
When Alvin greeted the matriarch of the Baron family, she ignored him and turned around to chat with
Antonio and Adide, which mortified him as embarrassment spread across his face.
Out of politeness, Adide greeted Alvin with a friendly smile. Alvin didn’t want to cause troubles on
the eve of the Spring Festival, he instantly introduced her girlfriend to the family.
“What do your parents do?”
Antonio’s grandmother glimpsed her with despise as she asked her about her background.
“Good evening, auntie, my parents are workers.”
Antonio’s grandmother gently nodded as if she was satisfied with the answer and continued with
condescension, “Well, good, at least you’re a legal child of your parents.”
Her words hurt as she was scorning Alvin, an illegal child.
Ever since Alvin was ten, he had realized his position in this family. He didn’t have the rights to speak
for himself, yet he had to bear all the sarcasm.
Her mother sacrificed herself to guarantee that he’d grow up in this rich family. His father was a
libertine who had plenty of secret sons and daughters. If his mother hadn’t sacrificed her life to make a
scene, nobody would have known that he’s the child of the Baron family.
Due to the public opinion, his father finally reluctantly brought him home.
He had epted his destiny and got used to all the sarcasm.
But the mortifying words left the room in awkward silence. Adide broke it first as she held the
grandmother and the Alvin’s girlfriend by the hand, walking to the sofa with smile. “Alvin, your niece is
going to have her baby girl. Where’s yours?”
“Hurry up, Alvin. Have a baby with your beauty.”
The couple’s banters swept up both the anger and the awkwardness.
Since Antonio and Adide were trying to create a joyfully festive air, Antonio’s grandmother stopped
scorning Alvin.
Ivy walked out of the kitchen. “Ma’am, time for dinner.”
“Okay, let’s go.”
Following the grandmother, everyone walked to the table as Adide’s arm was intwined with hers.
After all, Antonio’s grandmother was fond of her the most.
Among all the exquisite ambrosia, the foie gras transported from abroad by air was the most eye-
catching.
After they sat down at their seats, all the servants stood on the side to serve the guests to wash their
hands. Then Ivy poured everyone a ss of wine. Warm fresh milk was specially prepared for Adide
in the ce of wine.
They were about to make a toast to the new year together when an uninvited guest showed up. “I hope
I don’t bother you.”
In a short skirt and a pair of thin silk stockings, the uninvited guest was shivering with cold.
