Participant in the Royal Road Writathon Challenge!BOOK TWOBorn in the low levels of Cedrus City, I hardly thought my life would amount to anything other than the constant struggle to find food and support my family. As life goes, for any Tamarine living under the canopy of the cedar trees, I sought different methods to make life just a little easier, whether that was finding wild foods, learning to read and write within the obscure library of Historia, and--uh, making friends with resourceful people. At first, I didn't think after discovering a young Teragane boy visiting my favorite place to escape would be that big of a deal. His life was so different than mine, yet I found his peaceful presence ever so endearing... until I grew jealous of his easy life.He had no responsibilities, no expectations of family--he didn't even have anyone to worry about as he lived alone...Oh...how depressing.Yet, who was I to compare? Sable was starkly different than me, but, I kept visiting him through the years, discovering more and more about his mysterious life on the mountain...little did I know how much of a difference that boy would make in my life, even well after I had faced the scrutiny of my parent's expectations, the constant mistakes I was making at work, and the pestering friends I was beginning to make who seemed to also only push their own agendas onto me. Would I ever find my own place without others pulling me down? Were Sable and I so different after all?
