The air in the abandoned house felt thick, charged with a strange, oppressive energy. Lucian barely breathed, his eyes fixed on Caius, who had suddenly tensed like a beast about to attack. The guardian scanned the room with his gaze, his body radiating an overwhelming presence.
"Something''s here..." he murmured, his tone heavy with gravity.
Lucian felt a chill run down his spine. He didn''t need an explanation. He could feel it. An invisible whisper, a vibration in the air that made his skin crawl.
Caius narrowed his eyes.
"This power... I''ve felt it before."
Suddenly, the pressure disappeared. As if it had never been there. A deathly silence covered the house. Lucian swallowed.
"Not this time," Caius murmured before disappearing in a fleeting shadow.
Lucian was left alone in the gloom. It didn''t take him long to react. He quickly went to the door and stepped outside, just in time to witness what was happening in the backyard.
There, in the middle of the night, Caius floated in the air, enveloped in a dark glow, his arm extended toward a hooded figure. The silhouette was blurry, as if its very existence refused to be clearly perceived.
"Who are you, and what do you want from Lucian?" Caius roared.

The figure let out a distorted laugh.
"Always so faithful to your duty, Guardian... But this time, you cannot protect him."
Suddenly, with an imperceptible movement, the figure disappeared and reappeared behind Caius. Before he could react, an invisible force threw him violently against a tree. The impact shook the ground.
Lucian felt a burst of adrenaline and clenched his fists.
Caius struggled to his feet, clicked his tongue, and looked at Lucian.
"I can''t fight him alone... You must use your power!"
Lucian felt his heart pounding. He barely understood what was happening to him, but inside him, something burned, waiting to be released.
"I don''t know how to do this!"
"You don''t need to know. Just feel it. Stop thinking about what''s possible and what''s not. Do what you think you must do!"
Lucian closed his eyes.
He let the world around him disappear.
He let the weight of reality fade away.
And when he opened them again...
All was silent.
The wind stopped.
The leaves floated motionlessly in the air.
And he... he was no longer bound by anything.
The enemy seemed to notice and took a step back.
"Interesting..." he whispered.
Lucian raised a hand, and with a simple gesture, everything around him began to bend. The shadows of the trees twisted like paper, the ground curved like tangled fabric, and the air itself trembled like a mirror about to shatter.
The enemy reached out as if trying to stabilize the distorted space.
"It''s too soon for you... but not for long."
With one last grim smile, the figure vanished.
The world immediately returned to normal.
Lucian fell to his knees, panting. His entire body trembled.
Caius approached him, regarding him with serious eyes.
"You understand now, don''t you?"
Lucian looked up, still breathing heavily.
"Yes..."
He looked down at his hands.
For the first time, he knew with certainty that the laws of the world didn''t apply to him.
And he also knew... that someone didn''t want him to find out why.
