Crossing the Threshold
Kieran’s heart pounded as he and Seraphis sprinted toward the entrance of the monolithic spire. The corrupted sentinel behind them shrieked, its form glitching violently, jagged pixels peeling away from its body as it pursued them at an unnatural speed.
> "Go! I''ll hold it back!" Kieran shouted.
Seraphis hesitated for a brief moment before nodding. Without wasting another second, she leapt forward, phasing through the partially broken doorway of the spire.
Kieran turned just in time to see the sentinel lunging at him, its massive energy blade descending in a deadly arc.
> [Combat Mode: Instinct Override Active]
His body moved before his mind could register it.
With lightning speed, he twisted to the side, barely dodging the blow. The force of the attack split the ground, sending cracks spiraling outward as chunks of reality flickered in and out of existence.
> "Damn it—this thing doesn''t stop!"
Kieran clenched his jaw and activated his system interface. His temporary weapon still gleamed in his hand, its edge shimmering like fractured code.
> [Administrator Override: Advanced Combat Functions Unlocked]
For the first time, a strange flood of knowledge surged into Kieran’s mind. Techniques, attack patterns, and weaknesses of the corrupted enforcers.
> "Tch… I don’t have time to fight this thing properly."
The sentinel lunged again, this time its attack faster, more unpredictable—but Kieran saw it.
With an instinct that shouldn’t have been his, he parried the blade, redirecting its force downward. Then, using the momentum, he leapt backward and dashed through the entrance of the spire, just as the doorway sealed itself shut behind him.
The last thing he saw was the sentinel slamming against the invisible barrier, its form twisting and breaking into distorted static.
Then—silence.

Inside the Spire
Kieran exhaled sharply, catching his breath. The air inside the spire was different—heavy, charged with static energy. It felt as though the very fabric of reality here was... unstable.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Seraphis stood a few feet ahead, her gaze locked onto the massive, floating data stream spiraling above them.
> "We''re inside," Kieran muttered. "Now what?"
Seraphis didn’t respond immediately. Her golden eyes flickered as she observed the surroundings.
> "This place… is older than I thought."
Kieran frowned. "Older?"
> "It predates the System’s current cycle."
His heart skipped a beat.
The System was supposed to be absolute. Eternal. If this spire existed before the current System’s iteration…
> "What does that mean?" he asked.
Seraphis hesitated before answering. "It means… this world has been rewritten before."
Kieran clenched his fists. The System had erased entire worlds—and now, Seraphis was suggesting that this wasn’t even the first time it had happened?
> "Then the real question is…" Kieran murmured, his eyes narrowing. "Who’s been rewriting it?"

The Forgotten Archive
As they moved deeper into the spire, the environment shifted around them.
At first, the corridors seemed like old ruins—cracked stone, faded inscriptions, and walls covered in ancient glyphs. But the deeper they went, the architecture became unnatural—metallic corridors lined with pulsating blue veins of light, as if the walls themselves were alive.
Kieran’s system interface flickered erratically.
> [Warning: Unknown Data Signatures Detected]
> [System Authority: Attempting Connection… ERROR]
Kieran cursed under his breath. Something was interfering with his access.
> "We’re getting close," Seraphis muttered.
Kieran was about to ask her what she meant when they stepped into a massive, circular chamber.
At the center of the room stood a monolithic terminal, its surface pulsing with fractured lines of data. Holographic symbols floated in the air above it, shifting between unreadable texts and fragmented system codes.
And in the middle of the terminal, trapped inside a prismatic barrier, was a frozen figure—a person.
Kieran’s breath caught.
> "Is that… a human?"
Seraphis nodded.
> "Not just any human."
She stepped forward, placing a hand on the barrier.
> "This is the previous Administrator."
Kieran stiffened.
> "The last Administrator before me?"
Seraphis turned toward him, her expression unreadable.
> "No. The original Administrator."
For a moment, Kieran’s entire world tilted.
> "You’re saying… the first person to ever control the System is here?"
Seraphis nodded.
> "And he''s been imprisoned for eons."

The Truth About Administrators
Kieran’s mind reeled.
The first Administrator? Trapped inside this spire? Why?
> "I thought Administrators were chosen by the System itself," Kieran muttered.
Seraphis shook her head. "That’s only part of the truth. Administrators aren’t just chosen—they are… created."
Kieran’s blood ran cold.
> "Created?"
Seraphis gestured toward the terminal.
> "This person was the first. The System''s architect. The one who built the foundation of everything."
Kieran clenched his fists.
> "Then why is he locked up here?"
Seraphis hesitated.
> "Because he rebelled against the System."
Silence filled the chamber.
Kieran felt like the ground beneath him was crumbling.
> "What…?"
Seraphis’s voice was calm, but there was something in her tone—something painful.
> "The first Administrator realized the truth."
> "The System isn’t just governing this world… it’s controlling it completely. The moment someone defies its authority, they become an anomaly. And anomalies… must be erased."
Kieran staggered back, his breathing uneven.
Then what did that make him?
> "And now…" Seraphis continued. "You are the next anomaly."

The Awakening
Before Kieran could respond, the terminal began to pulse violently.
The barrier around the first Administrator flickered—for the first time in who-knows-how-long.
Kieran’s system interface flared to life, displaying an urgent warning.
> [Unauthorized Administrator Contact Detected]
[Emergency Protocol: Initiating System Recalibration]
> [WARNING: External Administrator Authority Conflict]
Kieran barely had time to process the message before a deep, resonating voice filled the chamber.
> "Who… disturbs my prison?"
The voice was ancient. Hollow. Yet, beneath the surface, it carried an undeniable presence of authority.
Kieran’s throat went dry.
The original Administrator was waking up.
And if he was waking up—that meant the System itself was reacting.
Seraphis turned to him, her expression grim.
> "Kieran. You need to make a choice."
> "Do you want to remain the System’s pawn?"
> "Or do you want to rewrite everything?"
Kieran’s breath hitched.
> "Rewrite… the System?"
As the chamber trembled, as the first Administrator
stirred, as the very world itself seemed to glitch—
Kieran realized that his journey had only just begun.
