Chapter 0: The story of renewal

“Grandpa, can you tell us the story again… please?” a young boy asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

The old man, affectionately known as Grandpa, hesitated for a moment. “Are you sure you want to hear it again? It’s getting late.”

The boy insisted. “Please, Grandpa! The girls are asleep, so they don’t have to stay up. It’s just me. Please tell it again!”

Grandpa sighed, then smiled. “Alright, alright. You want it from the beginning, don’t you?”

    The boy nodded eagerly.

    “Okay then. Here you go.”

“Long ago, humans lived on a planet called Earth, a world much smaller than ours—1,500,000 times smaller, to be precise. On Earth, they lived in relative peace, spread across nine continents and 190 countries. But they worshipped false gods, and this saddened the one true God.

He had a plan—not one of destruction, but of renewal.

Rather than wipe out the humans, He transported those who worshipped false gods to a place we now call zugyn (zoo-gwen). The faithful were given a choice: either spread the word of God in this new world or ascend to heaven and become angels, enjoying eternal life.

Most chose to become angels, but 140 brave souls accepted the task of spreading the divine word. These individuals were anointed as kings of this new world.

Their first act was to offer every scientist a passage to heaven in exchange for secrecy—secrecy about the knowledge that could hasten civilization’s advancement. Every scientist accepted, becoming messengers and guardians of the world’s natural progression. These kings and their messengers grew into political forces, ruling over realms they called pantheons.

The bloodlines of these kings became impervious to sin, and they promised peace and protection to their people. But, as with all human endeavors, chaos soon found its way into the world.

In response, the kings and their messengers created the Holy Knights, warriors tasked with maintaining peace across the pantheons.

And so, this new world flourished. By the year 300, humans had mastered sea navigation, a critical skill since the ocean covered 72.8% of this new Earth. This mastery gave rise to a new era of piracy—an era that would soon change everything.”
