Suddenly, Elgin pulled her into his arms.
His grip was strong, as if trying to fuse her into his body.

The one he had been searching for was Letitia, not Sh!

He asked tentatively, holding his breath for her response.
Letitia shook her head gently, “It’s beyond repair.”
Letitia… Elgin embraced her more tightly, “Don’t give up on me.”

Elgin was trying so hard, bending over backwards to fix their shattered rtionship.
But Letitia never gave him even the slightest chance.
The ring ttered to the floor, rolling to a stop under the couch.
“Letitia, have you ever…” Elgin bobbed his Adam’s apple, “Even the tiniest bit, loved me?”
