    Elgin nodded and picked up the fruit knife lying nearby. “Throw it out. From now on, nothing sharp is

    His voice was heavy as lead, “Because you gotta stick by me.”


    Letitia bit her lower lip. “But I don’t love you, I hate you. And I can’t even deal with your love!”

    Letitia challenged him, “Aren’t you scared that one day, I’ll take a stab at your heart again?”


    Hearing this. Elgin actually cracked a smile, “I gotta remind you of something, unless I let it happen,


    nobody can touch me. You got to hurt me this time because I allowed it, get it?”


    “Elgin, how does it feel to have everything under your thumb, huh?”


    Letitia red at him hard. Everything under his control, his eagle eye never missing a beat.

    Elgin left, his footsteps growing fainter. But the number of bodyguards at the door had doubled


    Two servants arrived at the ward, tending to Letitia around the clock, but really, they were keeping tabs


    on her.


    Letitia had be a caged canary. She had no freedom, no dreams, just living in Elgin’s keep.


    Letitia stood in front of the mirror, eyeing the wound on her neck.

    Back in his office, Elgin changed into fresh clothes in the lounge and dove straight into work.

    Samson couldn’t wait any longer, so as soon as Ranen called, he ran in the elevator to the top floor


    “Gin, you wanted to see me?” Samson asked, “Were you nning to camp out at the hospital these


    days?”


    “No, Ill being into the office as usual, popping over to the hospital when I can.”


    “You’re not sticking with Letitia?”


    Elgin paused before answering. “She just gets sick of me.”

    Samson had known Elgin for years and knew his temperament.

    Elgin chuckled, “With your smooth talk anddy-killing charm, howe you haven’t sealed the deal


    with Vidonia yet?”


    “What do I need to seal the deal with her for!?”


    “Don’t you want to?” Elgin shot back, “She’s been going against me over and over again. If it weren’t


    for your sake, I would’ve made her disappear from AquaCity a long time ago!”


    Samson cleared his throat, “Anyway, we’re getting sidetracked. Let’s talk about you and Letitia
